Valparaiso is a lovely artistic town. We enjoyed our day there. The area of Valparaiso we stay in was very walkable, although you can call for a cab for going further out. We enjoyed our stay at Casa California and the area around it. We ate at a little Cafe, Maria, Maria for breakfast on Beethoven Street, just a few hundred feet from Casa California. And you can take photos of the piano steps and walk up them. We had dinner at a bar and restaurant just up the hill and around the corner, a block or so over. We also had dessert at a cafe across the road from there.

Valparaiso is a vibrant colorful mountainous coastal town which we really enjoyed. There were several hillside dining options with fantastic views of the port town. Color murals painted on the buildings and walkways throughout town were fantastic, and added to the overall vibe of the city.

Cool city with an artistic vibe, lots of street art, young and older music artists etc.
Had a guided tour around and would recommend that to get a full view of the old-part of the city.
Also check out the live-music scene, had a great experience going out to their live-music bars/ open mic gig and it was high level.
I did not experience any bad, but they say don’t go alone home at night, it can be a problem with theft.

Not much to see, just quite a lot of beatiful grafiti, some vintage "ascensors". Beaches are quite far away.
But the city itself is downright filthy and not very safe. Many locals told us. Some MF took my girlfriend's cell phone and ran away. I chased him and got the phone back, but when I caught him he reached under the t-shirt probably holding a gun. I only had a knife so I gave up my vengeance. Be very careful even during the day!

Valparaíso is a beautiful place with very nice streets with loads of art. It’s has also nice beaches quite close. If you enjoy being on a beach a few days, it’s a good place for a few days more. If you don’t like to spend days at the beach, 2 days are enough, in my opinion.
The Restaurant „la casa verde“ was my favorite restaurant. The food and the pisco sour have been very delicious and the staff was very kind.
The location was perfect with lovely views over the port. Valparaiso is very hilly and the hotel is on top of one of the many hills which can be challenging, although there is a funicular nearby. Our room was very nice and breakfast was very good. The staff were extremely helpful with advice on where to eat, what to see, booking a transfer to the airport and so on. We were able to check out late as we had a very late flight at no extra cost.
In addition there are lovely public rooms for reading and a beautiful garden for relaxing in.
We stayed as a family of three for 4 nights to discover Valparaiso and surroundings. Paula and her team made us feel right at home from the start - providing a lot of local recommendations from restaurants to sightseeing.
The rooms are spacious and we loved the design - and had a great view of the city and the sea from our window. And the breakfast was superb :)
The location is very convenient - right at the top of Cerro Alegre next to some great restaurants, surrounded by street art and viewpoints.
We hope stay again some time!
Great location for exploring the historic centre of Valparaiso. The hotel is in a fabulously renovated mansion, with beautiful details and quirky, interesting decor. With only 14 rooms it felt generously proportioned yet intimate, with a grand yet cosy lounge, and bright upper sitting room with a balcony with wonderful views.
The staff were very friendly and helpful despite the language barrier (we spoke no Spanish and they spoke no English).
Parking was available in a secure garage - not cheap, but worth it for peace of mind.
Location was amazing, right in the middle of everything but on a quiet and safe street. The room itself was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious. The host was super friendly and gave me a lot of great recommendations for places to eat/shop/walk as a solo traveler. She was also really responsive and accommodating to my changing arrival time due to flight delays. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Valparaiso!! Excited to come back next year
This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The room was clean and comfortable and we upgraded to room 6 which had a stunning view of the bay. The folks working at the hotel were so kind and helpful. They helped to arrange an early breakfast (which was great!) to accommodate our departure and also helped arrange private transport to the airport which alleviated some stress for us. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Unique design. Great to have a kitchen in our room with salt, pepper and everything you might need including an espresso machine, hob and oven!
Helpful staff and hands down best breakfast during our whole stay in Chile. Views from the roof terrace are exceptional. Great (though dangerous!) to have wine in rooms, and we got a complimentary glass on arrival!
Marcello and Gloria were the perfect hosts and spoke excellent English. They were helpful with tips and even lent us a Metro card. Breakfast was a highlight. We stayed in room three which, although not large, was ok for three nights. The hotel is in a terrific location and full of character. Highly recommended and good value for money.
My host was very friendly and helpful. He let me move into my apartment at 9 in the morning, gave me an excellent street map and circled all the places of interest, where to buy food or find a taxi. The hotel feels very safe
It is located 5 minutes away from restaurants, bars and open air markets.
Everything. This is a lovely accomodation for a romantic getaway, with EXCELLENT breakfast nd the nicest personell. It's in the historic center of the city with beautiful walks around..the clean, modern, neatly furnished, air conditioned room was one of the nicest during our Chile trip
If you are planning to visit Valparaiso, Chile, I highly recommend AYCA La Flora Hotel Boutique. I booked a room for one night on short notice and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is to die for.
The hotel is quirky and quaint with unique rooms that are comfortable with good amenities. Our room had a balcony that was wonderful with a beautiful view of the ocean and town. The rooftop bar, where breakfast and dinner are served is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating.
Boutique hotel located in the historical centre of Valparaiso. Close to many good restaurants. Room was large and bed comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. And breakfast was delicious! (pancake with milk caramel, scrambled eggs sandwitch etc)
Super nice and cool boutique hotel.
Room was quite small but had every thing you may need!
Staff very helpful and spoke good English which is a plus here in Chile!
Breakfast was good.
There is private secure parking which is great
best hotel in Valparaiso, pay up for the top floor room with ocean view as the view is so worth it and you won’t need to go to any of the restaurants that boast great views. Lovely breakfast and Pilar is great!
This place is a piece of paradise in Valparaiso. The hosts are just amazing. They are keeping this place so clean, quiet, cozy and the garden is just lovely. My stay at this hotel left warmest memories.
Our stay was perfect. Rene was the best host and he taught us about Chile and Chilean culture. Further, the location is great! All in all, we cannot recommend this place enough.
The people were amazing - the two german volunteers were super friendly and helpful, the manager and the Chileno volunteer helped me out of a tight spot, theyre all excellent.
