There are many great restaurants, especially if you like the fish food!
Those moais are magical and sunrise tour is must!
Some things are very expensive there in Easter Island, example
renting a bike is 25€/24h !
I understand that some things in so isolated place is more expensive, but I think they have cartel in some business. Maybe they all don't understand that even they want to avoid the competition with each other, they will still have that competition with other vacation places. If people think it's too expensive, they go somewhere else.

You need to have interest in the history of the island.
You need to have interest in the history of the island. Showing up for a "resort style vacation" would be the wrong reason to go. We did a lot of homework and it was almost emotional to be there, especially after the island was run into the ground by greed.... You do need a guide to enter the parks. Sunscreen and water is your friend. You can stamp your passport, but not open on weekends.

I read on the internet:-
1. You could buy your ticket (USD80) for the National park at the airport. This is no longer the case. You have to buy your entry ticket in town.
2. Also, you could get your passport stamped with an Easter Island stamp at the post office. This is no longer the case. Go to the tourist information in town (sea front).

Unique island - fascinating history AND current culture.
Unique island - fascinating history AND current culture. We easily spent 22 nights. Not nearly as expensive as on-liine chats imply. We bought fresh and unknown-to-us vegetables and fruit in the market, so ate very well. Saved our pennies to go out for Pisco Sours! Did lots of walking, went on 2 horse back trips, and rented scooters on 2 days.

Rapa Nui is like this dream destination: an island in the middle of nowhere with an extremely interesting history and culture. The island has amazing nature and plenty of sites to visit. A long weekend is ok to see the highlights of the island, but if you want to include water sports then a bit more time has to be added to the trip.

From sunrise at Ahu Tongariki to sunset at Ahu Tahai the island does not disappoint. Having the requirement of a guide was a great way to understand the various sites and history behind the island. Historically Rapa Nui will have your mind going at all times in a good way. Fresh ceviche is available everywhere, and the town is easy to navigate and walk around and just enjoy the sun and breeze. Renting a 4-wheeler and driving around the island was a great experience.
I felt very welcomed at this hostal. The rooms and common areas are clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is varied and tasty, including local products, especially the delicious fruits. The location is a quiet side-street in the town, perfect if you want tranquility but close to sites, shopping, etc. Pamela and Carlos are the ideal hosts, very friendly and welcoming, they offer advice and tips on what to see and do on the island. I recommend this hostal without hesitation and would absolutely stay there on my next visit to Rapa Nui.
Great little standalone studio apartment cabaña on a multi-unit property about a 10-minute walk from the center of Hanga Roa. Very comfortable space, nicely equipped kitchenette, very clean, and well furnished. Felt right at home in this small community, with chickens, chicks, dogs, and geese in the front yard and a horse out back. Hosts were called away unexpectedly, so I didn't get to meet them, but their family/friends were friendly, kind, and went out of their way to help make my stay very pleasant. Thank you Cabaña Honu Iti!
We stayed here for our anniversary and couldn’t be more satisfied with the service and facility. The staff were warm and welcoming, went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay for us. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the airport and town center. The facility is clean and detail-oriented with personal touches throughout the hotel. The breakfast was amazing and tours were great! We felt well taken care of just like a family member. Highly recommended for anyone who’s visiting Easter Island!
In short, everything. This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in 40 years of traveling. The care that the staff - Romina, Katherine, and Antonia - provided was sincere and above and beyond anything I've experienced before. They accommodated my need for a gluten-free breakfast every day. They accommodated my need for cooling due to my difficulties with heat. They were always pleasant and helpful.
such a marvellous hotel – I think one of the best on the island. We had a bungalow which looked out over the Pacific ocean and not every hotel can offer that. But what we really liked was how welcoming the proprietor, Carmen and Paula made us feel - they couldn't be more helpful and accommodating and made us feel that we were in a home rather than a hotel, I'd come back and stay here any day
Perfect location, near restaurants, shops, close to the sea, and near the church (we were during the Easter and it was amazing experience). Hotel provide free transfer from and to the airport. Host and all staff were very helpful, polite, positive. Ambiente is very polynesian, with lot of tropic plants and trees, with small swimming pool in the middle of property and nice open restaurant.
Host was friendly and helpful with sharing local information on arrival.
The location is close to the main street and restaurants but it is on a side street with 5 min walking. At night it is quite dark (no street lights) and all streets are full of stray dogs. It makes the walk unpleasant.
It has a nice small garden in the front with flowers. With some work, hotel could be much better.
Such a wonderful stay at Inaki Uhi, the beds are very comfortable and the showers are nice and big with good water pressure. What really made this place great was the wonderful staff, from the moment you arrive they treat you like family. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Rapa Nui! If you want AC and TV in your room you need to book the suite.
We liked everything! very convenient location, nice room and with A/C !!!
good WiFi (for what you can get in Easter Island)
but the absolute BEST, was the customer service provided by the owner! Edith, THANK YOU!! grateful for having met your sister, your daughter and learned incredible stories that you shared!
I am in love with the island now!
New hotel with large rooms, clean, well equiped. Great breakfast and super kind, friendly and efficient team. Next to the road to all view points and 5 minute drive to the city center. Swimming pool and nice garden large terrace for each room. It is also not a very big impersonel hotel with numerous rooms, so really at the size of the island.
Beti is an amazing person who will help you with everything. She helped us to organize the guided tour to the park, rented scooters and answered all our questions. Even prepared for me and my friend, best fish and rice we ever had! She is very caring and helpful, makes you feel at home, definitely a great place to stay on Easter Island
This is a family-owned/run hotel that feels exactly that. You feel welcomed & valued at all times. Nicholas & Fernanda are the most helpful ‘front of house’ guys we’ve met on our 6-week trip so far. They are the best! Amazingly helpful. The hotel also hosts super-priced trips too - what a bonus!
Staying at the Cabañas Tojika is a unique experience. The rooms are right by the ocean, in an insanely picturesque location. Three generations of amazing women, Jimena, Katty and Manau, will take great care of you. Everything is super clean and cozy, just the perfect place to stay in Hanga Roa.
The best part about this property was the staff. They are AMAZING. They don't treat you like hotel guest. They treat you like family. The service is very personal and they are so nice and friendly. They interact with you beyond check-in. They are real people and treat you like a real person
I absolutely love Sonia and Francisco! They treated me like their daughter, a regalona! I even was provided lunch and allowed to work in Sonia’s office. The hotel is in a beautiful garden and feels like a home. The location is perfect too. Love them and hope to see them next time!
The kindness of the staff was from another world! My experience in the Easter Island would have not been as great as it was without the staff at this hostel. I highly recommend this place for everyone! As a solo female traveller I felt safe.
Very personal hotel with service by Marcelo and Sicky! They are wonderfully warm and amiable people who take care of your every need. I loved the stay and they made my experience on Easter Island incredibly memorable.
Absolutely a great place to stay on the island. The staff, owner and guide are awesome. The hotel is newly renovated and an awesome place to stay. I highly recommend everything about Hotel Ohana.
the host are really nice. my original travel agent failed to book tours for me, and they offered me tour with a bit higher price, which saved my trip to Easter Island
