Sanya is a fantastic tropical break for people in China, especially those living in the North who need some quick relief. However, the general consensus is that Sanya does not offer quite the same 'holiday experience' as destinations in other South East Asian countries, so although Sanya is perfect for a quick break, if you find you have a longer vacation then it might be worth heading a touch further afield.

Sanya is the main tourist hot spot on Hainan Island. But still it doesn't feel overcrowded. The City is is very clean, offers a wide range of restaurants bars and accomodation. Besides beach activities the nature is stunning and you can go on hikking tours. Yalong bay provided a beautiful beach with many activities available. Sadly there was no lifestyle on the beach (restaurants and bars, shops etc). Making dining and evenings a bit boring. Also, bear in mind Sanya is huge, making it a big distance to go anywhere. City center is 40 to 60 minutes away by car as is Sanya bay and Haitang bay so its very isolated.

Sanya is a nice place to stay, after more then 20 years living in China it was my first time here, but I really enjoyed it. I stayed here outside the public holidays, and perhaps due to the COVID it was not so busy, but I enjoyed it very much. In the evening there is a bar called Dolphin Sports Bar & Grill with a very good live (Filipino) band. Also the food is very nice in this place. If you like Italian food, Casa Mia is the place to go, excellent food for a very reasonable price. If you want to go for an exclusive dinner, make a reservation at Barbacao beach restaurant at The Edition hotel, wonderful place and very nice food.

Very beautiful reminds me so much of my Caribbean island Jamaica where I'm from❤️🇯🇲🇨🇳 Because it was Olympic time we went dining at Dolphin Bar and grill the food was very good also on the beach we visited many of the restaurants and the food were also good, If you are into Italian food then Casmina is the place to go great ambiance and food, don't miss out on Yalong bay forest Park if you are into nature, you may also want to try the water sports activities at Yalong bay those were pretty good. We had many others plans but our flight was cancelled and we had to book a earlier ticket.

Before coming to the hotel, I read a lot of reviews on Booking.Com, many of them were negative: the beach is dirty, wifi s poor, food selection is not enough. All of these proved to be untrue or maybe outdated. The beach is super clean and beautiful; the food selection is excellent, and wifi connection. As for the pools, they are a bit shallow, but the water is clean. The hotel is perfect for family stay, especially with small kids. The staff is polite and very attentive (special thanks to Mr Venture Wang).

This quiet oasis is a must when traveling to Sanya! If raining, the spa is also a shout! I had my first mom-to-be massage and I could have gone everyday it was so phenomenal! Can't wait to go back (again!)
