Terracotta army is of course the top thing to visit in Xi'An. Do not miss the bronze carriages. They are incredible and the museum created just for them is exceptional.
Xi'An is one of the best places we visited in China. The whole town is fantastic. A walk on city walls is unforgettable. Xi'An museum has great exhibits, especially in the underground area. There are a lot of great museums in Xi'An and it is worth spending a few days in this beautiful town.

Thousands of years of history in this vibrant town, with amazing food diversity, mind-blowing tour sites, and a fun attitude. There are lots of shopping opportunities as well with plenty of malls to choose from that feature Chinese and international brands. Don't forget to set your phone up with Alipay or WeChat linked to a credit card so you can easily make purchases or order rides with Didi. Not absolutely necessary but makes things MUCH EASIER (this is generally true for anywhere in China)..

Xi'an has a long history and is of great cultural importance...
Xi'an has a long history and is of great cultural importance in China. There are therefore many historic sites to visit (e.g. the Terracotta Warriors, Giant Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, City Walls). It also has a large Muslim quarter, which is interesting to wander around. The food is good, and the Muslim quarter has some particularly interesting and tasty dishes. The city is easy to get around. Like most Chinese cities, it has a good metro system that is easy to navigate (everything is in Chinese and English), but the city centre inside the old city walls can be easily explored on foot. The city walls are intact, and you can walk all the way around - another way to see the city! The walls are also surrounded by a moat and very pretty gardens. As well as the historic sites, Xi'an is a thriving modern city, so there are good shopping malls and plenty of nightlife, if that's what you want.

Fascinating ancient city and capital of past Chinese dynasties. A eye opening and crash course of the ancient Chinese civilization. A cauldron of different faiths, cultures languages, etc. In addition to the tombs, city gates, city walls, temples, mountains and mosque, etc .. must try out the Han costume and the local food. The experience is definitely memorable and adds a element of fun.

Terracotta warriors and bicycling the old city walls are a...
Terracotta warriors and bicycling the old city walls are a must do, the wild goose pagoda and muslim quarter are worth visiting too (although the view from the pagoda is not that great on smoggy days). The huaqing spa pools/site of the 'Xi'an incident' is interesting for fans of historical archaeological sites and early 20th century Chinese history. The bell tower and drum tower are better from the outside so leave these until last. The food in the city is distinctive and varied - shop around for a good place to sample biang biang noodles and the rou jia mou/hanbao pork buns.
Things to avoid: the Chang'an tower/pagoda is a modern construction in a business/convention/wedding location venue so don't bother unless you want a big walk around a large park/lake (all constructed, not an ancient venue as is given the impression of in the tourist maps).
Similar to this, the Daminggong is the location of a (now burnt down) old wooden palace so there is nothing to see except a large park with lakes and multiple models of what it used to look like.
The hostel has a very central location in walking distance to the drum tower. The staff was very welcoming, speaks a little English (uses translation app otherwise) and showed me the room (the only time that this happed during my 2 weeks stay in China).
The bed was super comfy, the room and hostel has a relaxed, simple vibe. The bathroom is small but facilities are great and super clean. The toiletts are heated and flush themselves. The breakfast was simple but plenty.
The room match my expectations with basic facilities met. It was spacious and just nice for 5 people. There were two toilets as well so we do not have to fight for toilet rights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, when I needed to get food delivery, they have helped to get my app sorted out. There are some eateries opposite the hotel so that is one plus point for those who wants to supper.
The hotel staff were very helpful. Thank you to Ella, Kevin and Clarkson for answering our questions regards nearby places to enjoy the flowers. Esplly to Kevin, who also helped us book the Qinglong Si tickets using his local number.
The lady staff(Ms Wei) preparing our room for check-in also left a very welcoming note on our room table. The Marriot staff exhibits high customer service.
Xi’an was my stop over between Beijing and Shanghai. The hotel was everything I could ask for. Guests comfort is a priority, my room was spacious, had a bean bag, comfortable stool and bed was comfortable too. Bath robes were a great touch. Got laundry done ready for next part of trip. Only regret was not staying longer.
The buffet breakfast was excellent. A good choice of western style food and great coffee. The décor was an interesting added feature, as well as the ornaments around the hotel. The room itself was spacious with commanding views of the area and the walking in closet and separate toilet was an added feature.
this is was so far the best hotel I've visited in China.
Excellent staff, very welcoming with attention to detail.
Great and big room, the location of the hotel is right at the center of Xi'an.
Also the breakfast was great and had a lot of varieties to offer.
Great location. Just near zhonglou station exit. Many good options around the hotel. The breakfast is really delicious and with variety, I really enjoyed eating them daily for 4 days! Room is bigger than I thought and clean.
It is a luxury hotel in a historic building where the staff goes out of their way to help you have a pleasant stay. An extensive breakfast buffet and delicious snacks are served in the open bar in the afternoon.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, in particular Deedee and May.
We also received a free room upgrade to a very spacious suite.
Hotel is close to a metro station for getting around the city easily.
The location is great, especially for young people. The apartment itself is quite old, nicely designed. No view. It is a good choice for a family who wants to cook and stay together.
For the first time to travel to China after the epidemic, Xi 'an is a great city and DESTI PARK is also a hotel can not to be missed. It will come again next time.
