Very interesting sitting perched on top of the mountains.
Very interesting sitting perched on top of the mountains. Very gothic city including the Basilica and all the antennas on the top. Quite an unusual vibe in the city. Cooler weather than most cities in the area. Beautiful surroundings.

Manizales is an amazing city - it is very safe, clean and beautiful scenery. It is one of the safest cities I have traveled to in the world, without feeling nervous at anytime. I feel safer in Manizales than many cities in the United States and Europe. Definitely the safest city in Latin America and I have travelled to virtually every country in LATAM with the exception of the Guyanas.

Manizales is a nice small city.
Manizales is a nice small city. The people are genuinely friendly and honest . I have no data on my phone and they went out of their way to help me. Many times ensuring I got to my address and even walked me there.
I asked a lot for directions and in my 6 months travelling Colombia without data , the people were and are exceptional.

Many green hills and much beautiful nature; forests, flowers, birds, scenery.
Friendly people. Close to national park Nevada del Ruiz (ca. 1hour) and several thermal pools (from 15 min. up). A Cable car.
Must have some physical ability to walk many steep streets if you consider walking outside of the main street of the city center.
Has a gastronomic area (G-zone) with many restaurants of all kinds of (international & local) food.

Manizales is not a nice town.
Manizales is not a nice town. I mean it has some modern and nice buildings in the center but most of the buildings in the city were not nice and the whole city looked poor and neglected. If you go with a private car, be aware that on some days traffic is prohibited depending on the number of the car. So a good solution is to go to the nearby town of Villa Maria and take the cable car to the center of Manizales. The town has a wonderful church and a very beautiful square dedicated to Simon Bolivar. If you want to stay there, choose the "Estelar Recinto Del Pensamiento Hotel Y Centro De Convenciones" hotel which is out of the city, it isn't expensive and it's located in an eco-park But it's (a bit)
far away from the center of the town.

The Cable area of Manizales is the place to stay, Centro of the city is noisy and lots of traffic. The entire city is CLEAN! People are friendly.
Surprisingly food is typically not served with any spice or sauce, you always need to ask for salt or pepper. #1 value in Manizales = Bretton Restaurant near the stadium. World Class food and view, 14th floor.
Incredibly beautiful setting, with amazing views. I planned to stay here one night while in my motorcycle tour through Colombia, but the setting was so nice, I stayed 2 nights. The first night I spent in the lodge in a room with a private bathroom and balcony, which was very nice. The second night, I moved down to one of the bungalows, which was even better….. very private and quiet. It was like a piece of heaven! I highly recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food was great.
One of the best locations in whole Colombia. Majid is a wonderful person that makes you feel welcomed into his paradise. It sure looks like one, amazing nature all around. He recommended nice things to do in the area, as well as helping us with booking and having an english tour of a coffee plantation nearby. Thanks again for your help!
Breakfast and dinner were delicious - and a lot, american portions. :)
If ever back in the area, for sure that’s the place we’d go back to!
Really nice hostel with attentive staff and perfectly located in the city. There are a lot of nicely maintained common areas including a TV room and a play station area. Everything is clean and in good state. The kitchen is big and well equipped.
The staff is also ready to help with booking tours or any other questions around travelling or activities in Manizales.
Clear recommendation!
The hotel is located on a farm/reserve which can be explored. Rooms were small and fit to purpose (sleep/shower). Bed was nice and shower with good pressure. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast buffet inside the restaurant was incredible, variety and flavors.
We tried both restaurants and food was tasty. Cheers to the bar! Great cócteles 🍸
The setting and location of the hotel are breathtaking. We were lucky to meet Leo, who was working at the hotel during our stay and who took such kind care of us, showing us around and making sure that we experience everything that the hotel offers. Very good food!! Make sure to explore the nature around the hotel.
The hotel is great. It's new and kept in a good shape. Everything was clean. The personal was always friendly and gave their best to be helpful in any situation.
The breakfast was plenty (hot and cold dishes, fresh fruits, fresh juices, omelettes fresh on request) and really tasted amazing.
This hotel/lodge is located within a beautiful property, surrounded by their own coffee plantations. The room we've booked was simple, but very comfortable, and in the morning it had a beautiful view to the nature. I also took their coffee tour and I absolutely recommend!
Very nice and convenient. Staff is friendly and responsive to requests and your satisfaction is important. I have stayed at this hotel many times and it is my favorite in Manizales. Shopping and restaurants are nearby with taxis always available.
Room was nice big clean and nicely furnished. Most of the time quiet. Good curtaind ans windows. Breakfast room nice, breakfast ok. With alot of fruit 3 types. People in the hotel really nice and helpful. Big white towels.
Staff was friendly, I had a late check-in but the front desk was at service, breakfast had plenty options so it was really good. Is well located near Manizales city center and some other trending areas, so it was good.
Great hotel in a fine location. Really friendly, helpful staff. One staff member designed a tour of city for me to take by taxi. It was fabulous. Loved my stay here. Local eateries were great. Very friendly.
The acommodation is impecably clean. Close to the center, but still very quiet. The breakfast is very good and the view from the kitchen is spectacular. Is a family hotel and we felt very welcomed.
Unique and beautiful country surroundings. Road trip from Medellín to Manizales very stressful due to road constructions. Staff very friendly. Coffee tour very informative.
The breakfast was good. The area around the hotel was ok with a few restaurant options nearby. It is a considerable distance from the downtown area of the city.
