Lovely spot in quiet part of town. Great breakfast and helpful staff. Access to kayaks a bonus (although make sure you get someone to take it to the water’s edge, otherwise you wade thro mud!)

We spent an exceptionally beautiful time at Levit Glamping and recommend staying here 100%! From the very first second we were just amazed by the beauty of this place. The location is spectacular: Directly by the lake and super calm and private with no other buildings around - only stunning nature. Because of the silence you’re able to hear (and watch) all the birds and completely relax. The place itself is super cute and you can feel the love they put into it. All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive - the whole time we felt welcomed and well cared for in a very genuine way. During movie night they even surprised us with popcorn which was adorable. The bathroom was clean and modern plus the shower had a very good water pressure. Another big plus were the three adorable dogs which made us feel super safe at night. :) The place also offers activities like educational walks through the forest and you can use their kayaks anytime during the day, which we sadly didn’t have any time for since we only stayed one night. Next time we’re gonna try and come back for longer. Definitely stay here if you want to be able to enjoy a beautiful, relaxing time away from everything!

Wonderfully idyllic location right by the lake, a beautiful spot for an early morning swim. The finca is Dennis and Martha's home which they share with their guests. We had the family suite which meant we had access to two conjoint bedrooms which was plenty of space for our family of four. Meals are provided and cooked on request and the BBQ chicken the hosts grilled for us was lovely, as were the pancakes for breakfast. They couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Our hired car broke down and Martha spent ages on the phone organising a replacement for us. Both our kids had the best time at the Lake B&B and overall it was one of our best stays in Colombia.

I definitelywould recommend staying at least overnight to be able to enjoy Guatape. The day trip just doesn't cover it. Plus a bonus is being able to walk around in the morning when nobody is around!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in the cute little town of Guatape. We climbed up the Piedra del penol rock and the views are mind-blowing. We also enjoyed our stay at La Pausa hotel with stellar lakefront views. Loved Guatape:)

I spent 3 nights in Guatapé. Lovely town.
I spent 3 nights in Guatapé. Lovely town. Such a relaxed vibe. I think it’s a shame to just come on a day trip to take of few photos of colourful buildings. It’s a nice place to stroll the streets, especially in the evening, with many great restaurant options. I could have stayed longer. There are plenty of things to do like go on a boat tour, or climb la piedra. Walk throughout the streets and shop or chat with the friendly locals. Or just relax with a coffee and a treat at the many cafe’s, or a beer at one of the pubs. If you are not in a rush to cram everything into a day, I’d recommend staying at least a night.

What a colorful town.
What a colorful town. I read so many people do just a day trip but I’m so glad we spent the night. I wish we would’ve spent 2 nights. You have to climb the piedra but also give yourself enough time in the town itself. We did a boat ride but I wish we would’ve had more time to do other water activities as it’s just so pretty.

Gutape is cool, not polluted and so safe that people leave doors open. I wasn't given a pavilion key and the door could easily be opened if the nearby window was open. There are two main towns, El Penol and Guatape. El Penol is larger and more everyday paced; Guatape has restaurants by the dozens to cater to the tourists from Medellin, Colombia, and, increasingly, from another continent. The altitude is such that it is between 62 and 78 F. year round; however, global warming seems to have raised the maximal temperature to 80F. or a bit more. The "lake" is beautiful, steep promontories along a winding "coastline", dotted with secondary homes of wealthy Colombians for the most part. Last notice is that the place is above 1800 meters and I had altitude sickness, which would have dissipated over a few days. The only tourist landmark is a giant black rock that Colombians seem to find attractive and they can climb to the top. I found it a dark, mass that ruined the overall scenery. To each his own.

Busy but charming town. Lovely waterfront.
Busy but charming town. Lovely waterfront. Makes every effort to entice you to buy beautiful things you don’t need. These are well-made crafts. Charming houses. A bit noisy with most cafes playing loud music, although I found one playing delightful piano jazz and I lingered there. A few hours in town was enough for me, though, and I was glad I stayed a few km away.
Good and safe location , friendly owner and hepful staff. Rooms are very clean and whole hotel is nicely decorated. Nice garden, plants and flowers everywhere. Comfortable beds and very good breakfast. Breakfast and dinner here was the best during our whole trip in Colombia . The hotel has two restaurants and the food in both of them is very delicous and waiters make your stay even better . Very nice view. It is possible to make gas fire in the private terraza . We would like to stay here again during our next visit.
Very friendly and helpful staff, we really enjoyed chatting to the family and they gave us lots of great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The hotel is located in a quiet part of town and only a short (and safe) walk to the centre of Guatapé. Nice traditional breakfast of coffee, fresh fruit, omelet, cheese and arepa. We were warned on arrival of some building works happening but it wasn’t noisy or disruptive to our stay.
I loved the warm welcome and treatment I received by Sandra from the front desk. She assisted me with booking a tour and was incredibly kind and helpful as I was traveling alone and this was my first time in Guatape. The views from the hotel were amazing and my room and bathroom were clean and tidy. I would absolutely stay there again!
This is an excellent place for recovering and relax. Rooms are spacious with big windows and nice jacuzzi. And the main point is the cuisine. The cocking lady makes the best food in Guatape - super tasty and healthy. The area of the hotel is super safe, green and calm. Higly recommended!
The staff is amazing and very helpful. Everyone is very pleasant and works hard to make their guests feel comfortable. The family cabin was comfortable. Located right next to El Penon. The views are beautiful from everywhere in the hotel and we really liked hanging out on the hammocks
Gretel was a quiet, serene and scenic place to stay during my visit to Guatapé. It is close to El Penon and Guatapé, a short ride by tuk tuk. The staff were lovely. The views are stunning and you will feel completely relaxed with the views and the chalet. Thanks Reena
Gorgeous hotel with a view that defies logic. It is also right next to the rock that you will be ascending if you visit so that is a plus. Tuk-tuk ride into Guatape town, which is very worth visiting, runs $10-15k COP (about $4). You won't regret staying here.
The hotel has an amazing view with exentsive facilities. The breakfast is very abundant with plenty of sweet and savory options. The hotel counts with two restaurants for lunch/dinner. Kudos to Kevin wo attended us super friendly and forthcoming.
Beautiful and huge apartment in great location to explore Guatape. The apartment is clean and kitchen is well equipped with all utilities (including coffee, sugar) you might need. We enjoyed our visit and totally recommend the apartment.
The staff very helpful ...Room very Romantic style very clean ...the view was amazing and you can enjoy the Penol its right across would definitely stay here again if I would go visit Guatape again enjoyed everything about the hotel.
This is a once in a lifetime type experience from the arrival via speedboat, welcome cocktail and mind blowing hotel which you need to see to appreciate. Staff were excellent. Food was very good. Room was amazing!!!
The cabin was OK—nothing crazy. The view is OK, and the place is quiet enough to relax. In retrospect, I wish I had stayed closer to town. I will definitely do that if I go back to Guatape.
We enjoyed our stay in Guatape. The apartment is convenient, even though it is not in the city. With two rooms, we had a comfortable stay, allowing us to split the resting area.
