Beach area and main street along the lagoon trashy but looks beautiful from afar. Two restaurants nice, clean and relaxing others I would not consider. No shops to poke your head into that look inviting. 1 day as a pass through would be enough time but not as a destination. I stayed at Techos Azules overlooking lagoon area and a short walk to the beach/lagoon area which is ideal. If you stay in hostels I would not book the one (white building) located on the beachfront.

I loved the view from the window, the apartment was gorgeous and clean. It had a breakfast bar, a fridge, excellent wifi. It was perfect for working and during the day I could walk to the beach and have lunch. The owner Jackie is wonderful and sweet. Anything that you need she helps with and even provided fresh coffee in the morning. Thanks for an amazing stay! The mountains and sunsets are beautiful!

Friendly people.. roads and beach not perfect but added to the charm.. good vibe to the place. No Starbucks or McDonald’s 😁😁😁
Scuba shops all over.. Recommend Reef Shepherds! Was good dive just in the bay, but think better in park.. didn’t go due to Vis!

I thought that staying out of Santa Marta would be quieter but not so. There isn't a whole lot to do in Taganga. To get to Tayrona you have to go back to Santa Marta anyway, unless you get the boat from Taganga. A few days was enough. Babaganoush is a lovely restaurant - I only knew of it because a friend had told me.

This place was too jarring for me. If you want to party and pay extra for everything, this is the place to go. It has obviously been jaded by tourism.
There are so many other beautiful places in Colombia to visit. I stayed here one night and then moved on to Santa Marta. It worth it.

The weekends ( and probably public holidays) are noisy and the weekdays quiet.
The resort has an edgy reputation but we found it fine during the day and early evening.
There are some good places to eat.
This was a great hostel, we loved it! The employees are very nice, it is well situated, the price is very good. There are double rooms with private bathroom for only 8€. But if you are looking for a bit more comfort, I would recommend the rooms which are a bit more expensive (but still quite cheap). There is a sweet and cute ginger kitten who walks around in the hallway. The beach (5') is so beautiful and fun, with a lot of bars and restaurants and amazing sunsets! A lot of diving possibilities nearby.
The hostel has a wonderful sunset view with causey hammocks. The staff is friendly and there is a kitchen for your use and a delicious free breakfast.
There are a few room options according to your standards, all relatively cheap.
Bear in mind that there is some climbing you need to do, both from the beach to the hostel (but that's true to most hostels in Taganga) and inside the hostel to your room. In my experience it wasn't a deal breaker and even nice to sleep with a view
Everything, one of the best hotels we've stayed at on our trip in South America. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Everything is so clean and fresh. Great terrace with hammocks overlooking the sea and mountains with a wonderful breeze. Breakfasts are amazing too. It has to be the best place to stay in manic little Taganga. Would strongly recommend!! Thank you Hotel ocean for all your help and warmth ☺️
It is really good value for money! It is super comfortable and perfect to stay longer ( we planned to stay 1 night, at the end we stayed 1.5 weeks). It is super calm, lots of hammocks, good blender in the kitchen. If you want some party you simply walk to the beach (5min), there is always something. In Taganga are many stores, ATM, everything you need! It was really relaxing. The host, Oscar was super nice.
The hotel had a very beautiful view of Taganga. The staff was very helpful and friendly all the time. They called taxi service when requested which would arrive within 10min. I also paid for the laundry service which was professionally done. Only problem with the non deluxe suite was the attention to decor detail. We also had a deluxe suite which was very nice with a great view.
Nice hotel close to the main beach, but without the huge noise. The room has a spacious bathroom and air conditioning (a huge plus because Taganga is so hot). There is a patio to spend some time, the beach is 30 seconds and the hotel has an excellent restaurant. you need to try the fish. The staff was very helpful.
It was a central location without much noise (I was there over Santa Semana, the area was PACKED with Colombians on vacation). The room was clean, but without windows for a breeze it got very stuffy and sleeps were sweaty. I stayed there because I wanted to stay and scuba dive.
First of all, I want to complement the staff. Very accommodating and friendly. The hotel has excellent views of the beach and mountains. The pool and jacuzzi (sun-heated jacuzzi) are also nice features. Close to surrounding beaches and other mini excursions and restaurants.
The hostel is spacious and clean. I didn’t cook in the kitchen, but I would’ve felt completely comfortable doing so. I like that the bunk beds in the dorm room were built in, meaning they don’t shake or creak. Sofia was very kind and helpful.
The hostel is located of the main road to Taganga. You have a wonderful view into the bay of Taganga and the location is very quiet. Staff is super friendly and our room was beautiful. It is 10 minutes walking distance down to the beach.
Excellent location for completing the PADI open water course with OceanLovers Taganga next door. Some very nice bars and restaurants close by and a hens kicks to the beach. Really spacious and comfortable room. Lovely staff!
Good hostel for staying a few nights in Taganga. The host is very friendly and helpful, the facilities are just adequate for the price.
Recommended for short stays.
I took a boat trip to the nearby beach Playa Grande with a short stop for snorkeling. I don't speak Spanish and the hostel staff was very helpful with translation.
A good stop in Taganga, great location within walking distance to the beach and main area. Simple but had all we needed. Carlos was super friendly & welcoming.
