The town is very charming with lots of both local, mid range and upscale restaurants. The problem is with the roads. We drove 2 1/2 hours from Playa flamingo down the coast and fully half of that time was on rutted dirt roads. The town itself had ro ases that were worse than rutted with giant potholes sometimes two or 3 feet deep. It made us wish we had a four-wheel-drive which many of the locals drive. They called them quads, which are four wheeled ATVs. We were there in dry season so I can only imagine what happens to the roads in the rainy season. It would not be a pretty sight.

Costa Rica is a very special country, but what I like best of all in Nosara (Guiones/Pelada) are the people. Both Ticos (Costa Ricans) and expats are among the friendliest, most genuinely helpful and generous, and most laid back folks anywhere. And it is the gorgeous natural beauty and tranquility of this place that must be the cause.

Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed.

Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed. Driving was somewhat terrifying (more so than the zip lining, to be sure). The nature there is beautiful and preserved. I would recommend staying at a nice resort if you want to go there. There are several and this would have made our experience much better. Since we had a kitchen, we used the grocery store often. It had great products, but was not air conditioned.

Nosara is definitely a place to go if you like surfing.

Nosara is definitely a place to go if you like surfing. There are a variety of waves for all types of surfers and the beach is HUGE so there is a ton of room for all surfers. The water is warm and you can body surf, boogie board as well...you really want to be "into the ocean" to be in Nosara...we took beach cruisers from one to the other on the beach since the sand is compacted...that was a lot of fun...and a beautiful ride. People are GREAT in Nosara....we will return.

Nosara is a gorgeous little village by the beach, but it is fast changing. It is very now americanised, lots of new expensive houses are being built. Restaurants and bars are good, but more expensive than everywhere we have been in CR. Most shops, hotels bars and restaurants charge in $ (although you can pay cash in Colones). I enjoyed Nosara, the Guiones Beach is gorgeous especially at sunset, but I did not feel like I was in CR. I think Samara would have been more what I was looking for.

More expensive than the average Costa Rican town, has been developing massively in the past few years, the road access is as poor as always though. Beaches are fantastic, restaurant options are amazing (this wasn’t the case a few years ago). The Nomadic Hotel a gem.

Everything at the Living Hotel was beyond my expectations. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from a coffee shop and grocery store. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The pool and grounds were constantly maintained. Yoga classes are held 3 times a week in the loft of the common building. Alejandra is an amazing yogi. Then there is Alejandro the concierge and general man about the hotel. He provides anything and everything you need. The Living Hotel a blissful place to stay.

Simply the best! The reviews were so good I was nervous it wouldn't live up to expectations but it far exceeded them. The most beautiful hotel, amazing breakfast, the pool was perfect, loads of shady places to sit and chill, super fast wifi, lots of place to sit and work on a laptop, friendly staff, short walk to the beach, surfboard storage, close to great restaurants, daily free yoga...I could go on. Don't think about it, just book!!!! And if you go, get the Salty Banana smoothie...just YUM.

What an incredible place. This is a small boutique hotel that is built from shipping containers. The rooms are very interesting. I've never stayed in one like it before. I had a great visit. The beds are very comfortable. Air-conditioning works wonderfully. The staff is super friendly! This comes with a free breakfast which is delicious. Has a very refreshing pool. It's about a 10-minute walk to the ocean which is some of the most beautiful ocean views I've ever seen. You must come to visit!

Andrés and his crew were SUPER welcoming! They helped me out with everything from getting a tuk tuk to booking my shuttle for the flight home. It's an awesome place to stay and the room was awesomely cozy and wholesome. Juan Carlos, the surf director was also incredibly awesome and patient with me during my surf lessons. The restaurant attached to the hotel (Destiny) has ridiculously awesome food, as well as awesome staff. Thank you guys for everything!!!

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and I stay in a lot of hotels! The decor was clean and slightly quirky but in a refined way, the room had an amazing view from both the balcony and the bathroom. Extremely comfy bed. No TV which I loved - but you might not. Lovely toiletries provided. The included breakfast was delicious! Great amount of choices and the restaurant in general had really good food and great selection of wine - well priced too!

Great location and lovely facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were beautifully outfitted. Normally I don't use hotel shampoo and conditioner because it's not good, but theirs was so lovely and smelled amazing. Same with the provided soaps and lotions. We appreciated the in-room coffee and tea, as well. The drinks were superb. I had undoubtable the best pina colada of my life here. Thank you for a lovely experience.

The pool has an incredible view and there are tons of activities for guests to participate. Playa Guiones is close by for surfing, swimming, and relaxing. Huge apartment with everything we needed for a family of five with young children. The owner manager welcomed us and was available for anything we needed. We loved walking out onto the Main Street of the village full of restaurants and shops. But the reason you come to Nosara is the beach, and Playa Guiones is simply amazing. Jumping in the pool at this villa completes your perfect beach day.

The location was only about 6 mins walk to the beach. You just can’t beat that kind of location. The staff was really nice, the cocktails are way better than the ones from the states. The rooms so beautiful! This place is brand new and their hard work put into it was evident. The pool was refreshing and so close to all the rooms. Fantastic boutique hotel!

I had the opportunity to stay at Nosara Sunrise B&B and it was a great experience. The rooms were large with traditional Costa Rican decor and private bathroom. The breakfast was super good, typical style, very clean and fresh. Finally, the staff were all professional and very accommodating. A great place to stay when visiting the Nosara area.
