Great small surf town, with everything you need within short walking distance. Variety of cuisine with Happy Hour offers (take them as food is pricey here). We mostly ate at "Soda" restaurant (any spot with Soda means it's local food). Fire throwers perform nightly around center of the beach. Tip them, it is amazing what they can do. River Boat tour showed us mangrove vegetation, crocodiles and iguanas. Blue Dolphin sunset sailing was super fun, check the wind report before booking. Horseback riding available at the beach, I'd recommend morning time when tide is low. Sand is pack then and beach is wide for them to walk on. Sun is sneaky here and you can burn easily, so be careful.

I love love love Tamarindo!
I love love love Tamarindo! I've actually been looking non-stop at properties to see if there is a place I'd like to live. It's unlikely that I will move there permanently, but I'd love to have a little place to be able to visit once in awhile!

We were disappoined in Tamarindo ~ it felt like a tourist trap with all the sidewalk tour booths. We went snorkeling with one of the booths by the beach which was definitely NOT worth it as there was absoluately nothing to see. We discovered Native Way & booked a tour to the Estuary which was excellent compared to another guest who booked from the booths by the beaches. I also heard many of them are scams as they want a deposit which will be the last you'll hear ofthem. We would recommend Native Way if you want to book any tours. We were disappointed becaue Tarmarindo was more expensive than we expected. There were only a few "shops" that were not filled with "souvenirs" that were probably not even made there. Go to the Night Market on Thursday or Farmer's Market on Saturday for unique gifts made by local artisans. Food at Restaurants were good but not the prices. We recommend Tabu & Pico Bistro. Pangas is over rated... food was so so but atmosopshere was out of this world.

Excellent villa but disapointed with the reception.
Excellent villa but disapointed with the reception. We told them we were arriving at 1 and when we did they said we had to come back at 3 - why ask what time we coming then? They gave us the keys and the map on check-in but noone took us to the villa to show us around and tell us how everything worked. So off to a bad start. I am sure the owner thinks they are paying for a better service to be delivered. The villa itself had everything you need and was comforatable and clean. Cleainng staff were very good. Travelling around Hacienda Pinilla at night is challenging as no street light and easy to get confused (we did) - OK afer a couple of days and you know your way around. Good restaurants at the Marriot. Need a car to go anywhere.

Everything is walking distance.. lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Love that you can walk the beach to anywhere and also access the town from the beach. Lots of different food options. Town is small but big considering and noisy with traffic but beautiful! A 5 to 7 day stay is good!
Our room was spotless! A really nice room with a minimalist vibe.
The hotel is tucked away down a dusty backstreet of Tamarindo, but still within a short walk (10 - 15 minutes) to the centre of town and the beach. I'd say it provided a good balance between being away from all the noise and the hustle and bustle of the town, but not being too far out that it was a problem.
The pool is only small, so don't expect to be doing laps, but it was nice for a quick dip to cool off after a long day on the beach.
The hotel is not actually in Tamarindo, it's in Villarreal, which is very close to Tamarindo. It has a gate, so your car and valuables will be safe. Each room has AC and hot water. Bed was comfortable and clean. There's also a swimming pool which was cleaned every day and a cooking area for guests. The owner was friendly and sent us lots of suggestions on Whatsapp. Good value for money since everything else was fully booked for the BPM festival. Close to supermarket and restaurants.
Staying at Les Voiles Blanches was probably the highlight of our two week trip in Costa Rica. Thibault was exceptionally helpful, going above and beyond to meet our needs.
The place is a little outside Tamarindo, but if you have a car you'll be fine. It's clean, comfortable, and quiet. What more could you ask for?
We loved it so much we extended our stay.
Beautiful private beach access to watch the sunsets. A little bit of a walk to beaches that you can swim in - but it was so lovely to start and end each day with a walk in the sand. Great little breakfast every morning, and cool beers in the fridge. This hotel makes you instantly unwind. We preferred this compared to closer to the main area of Tamarindo.
It is right on the beach and is away from the crowds in Tamarindo. This area of the beach is excellent for beginning surfers and bogie boarders. Hotel has both. Only a short walk to restaurants, a grocery store. Each room has a kitchenette with a Fridge, 2 burner cooktop and a microwave, toaster and blender.
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff exceeded all my expectations and the hotel made it easy to meet other travelers. The weather was very hot in Tamarindo, and the hotel's pool was a great way to cool off. AC and a mini fridge was also a relief to the extreme weather. I would definitely stay again!
Very good service . Staff was so friendly and caring .The facilites very clean . Has a clean good sized pool .it was close to the center 5 min walk .. breakfast was just perfect . They have an italian restaurant ( outside of hotel) the food was delicious .. 20 out 10 . BEST AFFORDABLE HOTEL IN TAMARINDO ..
Great location in the heart of Tamarindo and a couple of blocks to the beach yet quiet and peaceful.
Great made to order breakfast included in rate and 20% coupon to OCEAN restaurant- on the beach and great seafood - that is owned by the owner of the hotel.
Would definitely stay here again.
very nice kind and service minded people. very beautiful surroundings, it has its own style, which builds the cozy atmosphere both in- and outside.
further it is located perfect in Tamarindo, close to everything beach and city life. within the hotel itself it’s quiet and cozy
Lovely room overlooking the nice pool. Very close to restaurants, the beach etc. Shower warm, unusual for Costa Rica! Useful little shared kitchen. Heard and saw howler monkeys in the garden! Plenty of parking. Nice patio in front of room with table and chairs. Helpful staff.
The staff was super nice and helpful, the hotel grounds are super well maintained and the hotel as well. We we supplied with beach chairs and beach towels, and even got umbrellas when it started raining. The breakfast was also great and huge. Best location in tamarindo.
We had a very nice room right beside the pool. There was a lounge area near the pool as well. The breakfast was different every morning and always delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the hotel if you want go to Tamarindo.
We had an amazing stay. BoHo is a luxurious, intimate, tranquile oasis, surrounded by jungle, just a short walk from the centre of Tamarindo. We felt personally welcomed and will happily come back to BoHo when visiting Costa Rica again ❤️
The apartments are amazing and cheap for Costa Rica. They are incredibly clean and comfy.
The position is amazing, very close to the beach, shops and restaurants, but far enough from the noise.
You can pay by card.
The hotel feels like an oasis within Tamarindo. Comfortable, calm, beautiful and the staff was very nice! Breakfast was especially convenient and had a lot of great options to choose from. Would recommend!
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Boruca, its location in Tamarindo facilitated all my activities, the staff is very friendly, the decoration of the hotel and infrastructure are unique.
Beautiful room. Liked how private and safe it felt. Owner is extremely nice and helpful. Definitely would stay here again if we went back to Costa Rica.
