The location was super easy and communication about an included ride to the airport was lovely and made us feel welcome. The front desk staff were helpful and answered all our questions. The breakfast was ok- turkey cheese sandwiches were nothing to write home about, the fruit was fresh, the coffee was very good. The pool area was quite lovely and private with beautiful succulents. The air conditioner mini split in the room was amazing.

The hotel offers one way shuttle to/from the airport and the service was punctual. Communication was efficient and the hotel staff very kind. The rooms are spacious and in perfect working order, although old style. The grounds are beautiful. Restaurant ok, with excellent beer choice.

The area is fun and easy to get around. There are many small stores, but no good supermarkets. TONS of cafes and fast food places, so getting something to eat is easy. I'd go there again, but there's not a ton to do unless you enjoy sitting in parks, which I do.

I only walked around the immediate area of the hotel . I had no need to explore the town as I had a demanding schedule upon arrival and prior to departure . This was just super convenient to the airport.

It’s the best location to stay on your first night,...
It’s the best location to stay on your first night, especially if you arrive in the evening and don’t have an “all inclusive“ vacation booked; and best location for your last night in Costa Rica, due to the proximity to the airport.
Be warned, the red taxis are really expensive and Uber drivers are allowed to drop you off at the airport, but are not allowed to pick you up from the airport. Most places that offer accommodation, also offer a pickup service from the airport. Take it. The closer to the airport, the cheaper they get; prices start at $5 and could get to $35, $40 US dollars , depending on the distance to the airport.
Most rental cars offices are around the airport, so, look for a place to stay not too far away from the airport and one that offers drop off to a rental car office. If not, it’s always an Uber driver available. The closer to the airport, the better, for first and last night stay, because driving in the city could take a veeeeeery long time.
If you have time, walk the streets of Alajuela, people are very friendly and ready to help. Be very careful, the water tranches along the pedestrian walkways, are very deep, and the holes on the uneven pavement are deep as well, but definitely go to the city’s fresh market; it is a very interesting experience. Make sure you calculate well the prices, from corones into dollars, lots of vendors will try to take advantage of you, if you don’t pay attention. You can pay in US dollars everywhere, except for buses (long distance or local buses); the dollar bills must be pristine, one little tear anywhere on the bill, will be refused.
All in all is a nice city full of hustle and bustle, with lots of cars and people, with little parks with amazing trees, lots of perrots, delicious fresh fruits and gelatos

Quite noisy and a bit dirty.
Quite noisy and a bit dirty. People are nice, but food was a disappointment - it was almost impossible to find fresh vegetarian food that hadn’t been processed. Everything was fried in grease and had meat in it.

A horrible crowded traffic-glutted ugly town, which however has a great bookstore - Goodlight books - and a noisy rather grim organic cafe called Chante with really good food and vegan ice cream, but the traffic outside is awful. Rorro's Mexican restaurant was warm-hearted and fun but lots of fried stuff and the veggie tacos were horrible, with rubbery eggplant. The french fries were awful compared to the ones at Chante. My friend found driving in Alajuela a nightmare.
Heather and Luis really kind and do everything to make sure that you have a nice stay and that you feel welcomed! They really care about there guests and they helped me with some complicated things that I needed to fix to be able to fly back home. There is a very good balance between quality and price with a nice room and a very cute patio where they serve a nice breakfast. Great location if you want to be close to the airport, really easy to get there within 10 minutes. I think this is the best place to spend your time in Alajuela.
The hostel is near the airport so you can hear the loud noises of airplane taking off in very early morning. The noise is very very loud. The beds are comfortable. The staff is very friendly however the taxi driver affiliated with the hotel over charged us. He charged $10 for 2km ride to pick our rental car. The room rates are quite cheap. We only needed a place near the airport to rest for few hours until we could pick up our rental car so I would say the place did its work.
It was a good typical breakfast. The pool was lovely and the view spectacular. The staff were friendly. Not their issue that the rooms shown when booking are not the room given on arrival. They are doing their best. This place has huge potential if managed correctly. Money needs to be invested. The Mirador del Valle restaurant is 300 meters from hotel. Same gorgeous view, excellent service and the food was amazing.
Hotel Aeropuerto is the perfect stopping off place when you’re heading to or from the airport. Sure the rooms are dated and the facilities a little old school, but the lovely little pool is fantastic and the biggest surprise was the restaurant, el Dirigo. The delicious food and microbrewery beer and kombucha were quite frankly the best part of our short stay.
Excellent Location near airport (hotel paid for taxi) I my particular booking.
Super clean hotel, roo.s are older outdated rooms- yet super clean, just needs updating.
Amazing location, walkable Everywhere.
Breakfast is good, enjoyed panini grill.
Pool needs to circulate more often to be clearer.
Excellent service, friendly staff.
Ex-hotel converted to dorms, which means every room has a bathroom. No trekking down a corridor to use a shower or bathroom.
Superb location right next to the central square in Alajuela. Plenty of shops and eateries around.
The best bit: free pick up from the airport. Nice!
Staff were friendly and super helpful with information.
This is a luxury hotel!! Everything is very upscale and classy. Love that the rooms are light, bright, airy, and minimalist. Beautiful bathrooms, beautiful lobby, AMAZING complementary breakfast (huge). Staff is sooooo nice and accommodating. I loved my stay here and wish I was staying for a few more nights.
The room was so cozy and comfortable, the best bedding in our 8 months of travelling, Nice hot shower with great water pressure, great wifi, Cook your own breakfast any time of day was ideal, Lovely family run hotel with airport drop off for $5, Good location close to the airport and town.
The hotel was not too far from the airport which was perfect as we had arrived late in San Jose. The breakfast was excellent, the best I’ve had in Costa Rica so far. The hotel has lovely gardens, well kept pool and a good pool table. A nice place to relax and take in the lush surroundings.
Very nice garden where you can even spot colibris. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the center of Alajuela, close to the central market and the bus terminal, it is perfect for people arriving or departing from the airport. The breakfast is included and is tasty.
Perfect for a one-night stay before an early departure or after a late arrival at San Jose-Alajuela Airport
We even returned our rental car directly at the Hotel.
The free of charge shuttle service is very well organised.
Breakfast with a great choice and good quality.
It was perfect for what we needed. We needed a simple, cheap, comfortable, clean hotel to stay in for one night, near the airport. The staff were some of the loveliest, most welcoming and helpful hotel staff I’ve encountered. Couldn’t have asked for better!
