The tour in the park was excellent, the town is laid with things easily found we had good restraunts and ths services were freindly and helpful.
The biggest drawback is the lack of bancos atimatico that works better
The line was long and many people had to repeat the sequence of instructions to get anything yet the hotels asked for cash only. Very frustrating and scary if you didn't bring enough dollars or colony s
The grocey store delived groceries a nd took a credit card. We had such a lai back experience.

Cahuita is a laid back town at the edge of Cahuita National Park. It is seeming in wildlife. You don't even have to enter the park to see the wildlife. We saw huge green iguana, common black hawk, families of capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, green basilisk, agoutis, herons, kingfishers - all outside the park. Inside the park we saw sloths, eyelash vipers, frigate birds and raccoons in addition to the other animals we saw outside. Beaches are pristine and nice to swim in. The neighboring town of Puerto Viego was another laid back village by the sea. A tranquil place to visit!

Cahuita was a friendly small community that showed so much love to us! Conventiently located near a beautiful beach, Playa Negro, and the food was fabulous. Lobster picked straight from the tank to our plate--delicious! Chef Doria at Caribbean Soul Taste was a joy and her food was just as amazing. Stopping at her restaurant is a must if you are in Cahuita. Another must is the Cahuita Nacional Park. We saw groups of monkeys and sloths and even a blue morpho butterfly in the park--and it's free! Would return to Cahuita in a heartbeat!

Cahuita has become crowded with tourists hoping to see the wildlife in the National Park, when you have so many tourists in the park it is difficult to view the animals because they just aren’t there, the wildlife will move deeper into the rainforest to escape the gaze of humans!!

The hotel owner Josey was very nice and helpful. When my spouse wasn’t feeling well Josey made her a herbal tea that helped her feel better. Josey made us feel welcome and at home, we recommend staying at her place

Our hosts were outstanding offering suggestions about local attractions, and local foods. The kitchen and dining facilities were very good. When one of our group had a minor medical issue our hosts arranged a home visit by a local doctor, imagine that!.
Downtown is a pleasant 20 walk away.
We would like to upgrade our rating from a 9 to a 10, please.
Less than 10 mins walk into Cahuita, really quiet at night so slept very well. Pool was amazing, as was the setting and garden. Rooms were simple, but very clean & had a TV with Netflix on which was great for rainy days. Our favourite place to eat was Soda Kawe. The beaches in the national park were truly amazing and it's easy to make a day out of walking in the park. The hotel was only about 15 mins away from the entrance. The host was really helpful and approachable, booking taxis for us when needed etc. Would definitely stay again!
Amazing hotel, one of the best i have ever stayed. Jaqluin and her team are very friendly and helpful. Will help you with everything. very beautifull place with big garden and excelent pool in jungles. You will meet almost all costa rica popular animals there:sloths, monkeys, frogs, toucans, hamingbirds, frogs and others)) like a park, not hotel! very tasty breakfast with natural juice. Personal black beach where you will be alone. Strightly reccomend this hotel.
Everything!!!!! How is it possible not to love paradise? Situated just next to Cahuita National Park, surrounded by the jungle, the accommodation offers out of this world aural, visual and olfactory sensations. The bungalow itself was fantastic. The kettle and coffee making machine were a bonus. The separate bungalow providing all the kitchen essentials was also very useful. The best accommodation option for nature lovers 🙉🦥🦜
Amazing Hotel! Rosy was a great host. The place will certainly exceed your expectations!!! It's a 100% nature experience. My husband and I were highly impressed with the beauty of the place and the architecture of the hotel. Everything is eco friendly, and the decoration is absolutely gorgeous. You feel a deep interaction with the animals and nature around you, you won't be disappointed!
A last minute booking as the 'transfer' service I booked from Bocas del Toro to San Jose was dodgy and turned out to involve local buses which weren't going to connect up, so got off at Cahuita as seemed less dodgy that Limon. The pair working at the time spoke little english, but through google translate we managed and they made up and cleaned a room at last minute.
The Secret Garden was the perfect place to stay in Cahuita. It was so sweet, well taken care of, clean. You could see how much love was put into it. The owner was very cheery and helpful, recommending us so well as we arrived and each time we asked. The location is also great – with the National Park around the corner and the Black Beach only 15 min walking away
Great owners, took a last minute booking and everything was easy, from check in to use of the facilities, which were incredibly nice! Large pool, AC in rooms, private parking.
Excellent place to stay in the Cahuita area.
They also shuttle guests to the park in the AM and if you hike the park trail it exits not far from the hotel!
Absolutely beautiful. Very tranquil. The hotel was full the entire weekend we were there but you wouldn’t know it because it was very quiet and peaceful. Excellent views of the surrounding forest and ocean. very well maintained. Loved the hosts/owners. They were very warm and friendly. The breakfasts were super rico.
Staff was very nice. Location of hotel was excellent. It was 20 minutes walking distance to Playa Negra and less than 5 minutes walk to Parque Nacional. Also location was great for restaurants and bars.
Ambience of property was nice. Every room had hammock available to be used. There is a shared kitchen area.
The cabinas are in between Cahuita and Playa Negra and a short (and safe but a bit dark, take a torch!) walk from both along a gravelly path. They are very near a really great little breakfast/brunch spot on the beach. The aircon was very necessary in Cahuita. The communal kitchen was a useful and nice addition.
This place is like a 3D painting in the rain forest. It has a very local vibe and is more like a finca than a hotel. The host and other guest were wonderful people. The place is surrounded by edible fruits and herbs. It is central to all of the best beaches in the Caribbean’s. Absolutely recommend!
Quiet location at the very end of Cahuita 5 min from.Playa Grande
Lovely simple but spacious cabana tucked away in a flowery garden
Nice yoga deck and herbal sauna
Very nice coffee and freshly prepared breakfast
Friendly owner Fernando made sure I was well taken care of
very beautiful place, quiet, and very close to cahuita national park. The owners are really nice and helpful. The kitchen was super nice! I think the best kitchen I’ve seen so far in all the hostels I’ve been. All in all a great experience, especially for the price!
Very nice setting, the bungalows are well equipped and nicely decorated. Pool is clean and open from 8 to 8, allowing for a swim under the stars.location is perfect for a trip to the Cahuita National park or a beach nearby. Loved it.
By far the best hotel we stayed in in Costa Rica, great value for money. The host Daniele went absolutely above and beyond for us during our stay, helping with recommendations and organising transport and food for us.
Breakfast was amazing - one of the best we've experienced. Our room was clean and tidy and the location was near the center of Cahuita. Host Roberta as always available and takes great care of her guests.
The cleaning is exceptional, the location is not as near as Cahuita as I thought (bear in mind if you do not have a car, this is not an option), but it is perfectly if you don’t want noise
Lovely little hotel in the middle of Cahuita. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable. Nice pool. Reliable hot water and WiFi. A very nice stay
