The tour in the park was excellent, the town is laid with things easily found we had good restraunts and ths services were freindly and helpful.
The biggest drawback is the lack of bancos atimatico that works better
The line was long and many people had to repeat the sequence of instructions to get anything yet the hotels asked for cash only. Very frustrating and scary if you didn't bring enough dollars or colony s
The grocey store delived groceries a nd took a credit card. We had such a lai back experience.

Cahuita is a laid back town at the edge of Cahuita National Park. It is seeming in wildlife. You don't even have to enter the park to see the wildlife. We saw huge green iguana, common black hawk, families of capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, green basilisk, agoutis, herons, kingfishers - all outside the park. Inside the park we saw sloths, eyelash vipers, frigate birds and raccoons in addition to the other animals we saw outside. Beaches are pristine and nice to swim in. The neighboring town of Puerto Viego was another laid back village by the sea. A tranquil place to visit!

Cahuita was a friendly small community that showed so much love to us! Conventiently located near a beautiful beach, Playa Negro, and the food was fabulous. Lobster picked straight from the tank to our plate--delicious! Chef Doria at Caribbean Soul Taste was a joy and her food was just as amazing. Stopping at her restaurant is a must if you are in Cahuita. Another must is the Cahuita Nacional Park. We saw groups of monkeys and sloths and even a blue morpho butterfly in the park--and it's free! Would return to Cahuita in a heartbeat!

Cahuita has become crowded with tourists hoping to see the wildlife in the National Park, when you have so many tourists in the park it is difficult to view the animals because they just aren’t there, the wildlife will move deeper into the rainforest to escape the gaze of humans!!

The hotel owner Josey was very nice and helpful. When my spouse wasn’t feeling well Josey made her a herbal tea that helped her feel better. Josey made us feel welcome and at home, we recommend staying at her place

Our hosts were outstanding offering suggestions about local attractions, and local foods. The kitchen and dining facilities were very good. When one of our group had a minor medical issue our hosts arranged a home visit by a local doctor, imagine that!.
Downtown is a pleasant 20 walk away.
We would like to upgrade our rating from a 9 to a 10, please.
Location was excelent!!! Located in the middle of the town: walking distance from the national park, restaurants, and the little port where the boat tours depart from. One block away from the main street. Also located in a not very crowded nor loud block. Also, we did not expect a kitchen with a fridge to use. That saved us a lot of money in restaurants. WIFI worked well and covered entire property. The hotel met our expectations according to the price I paid. Staff was super friendly. I would stay here again and again.
The location was perfect for visiting the Cahuita National Park - and also close to other amenities like grocery stores and restaurants. Everything was within 5 mins walking.
The host was amazing - she provided a lot of local information including best sites and shops. She even knew the 'usual spots' where sloths would hang out. Thanks to her advice we saw sloths and even kinkajous in the evening.
Rooms are cozy and have everything you need: AC and hot water.
Beautiful property in Cahuita, central to many restaurants and the beach, close drive to national parks and Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
Beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious, there was housekeeping every day. The restaurant was closed while we were visiting, but breakfast was served each morning and the bar was open for delicious cocktails until late. They even offered us a free drink for our honeymoon and left a beautiful bouquet in our room.
The staff was very friendly. The ocean view was beautiful and very calming, and there are sitting areas and hammocks right in front of the sea. The breakfast was generous and delicious, and they offered one typical and one international option. The hotel also seems very kids-friendly. My room was very clean and the air conditioning really saved me during the nights. The hotel seemed to be safe compared to the other accomodations in Cahuita.
Hotel la Diosa is between playa grande and playa negra, where you can walk to (10-15 min). You will need the car to move around as Cahuita is too far too walk. There is a restaurant next door which is handy.
The location is quiet and we loved the swimming pool. There is access to the sea, but there is no beach as there are rocks.
Cleaner was very friendly and did a good job.
Very cute bungalows close to the Caribbean Sea. There are 2 black sand beaches nearby. The owners are very nice and helpful persons. The breakfast which they made for us every morning were amazing. Check-in and check-out was easy. Very good value for money. You can also see sloths, monkeys and frogs in the garden. :) Perfect choice to stay in Cahuita.
Very welcoming & attentive hosts. Lovely breakfast served by the pool. Very comfortable and well maintained Bungalow. Set in a beautiful quiet location, away from main roads. Lots of wildlife.
We didn't have a car, but only 5-10 min walk to main bus route serving Limon, Cahuita, Puerto Viejo & Manzanillo...
We would definitely stay again! 5☆
A great place to stay! The cabin was clean and very spacious, with a lovely terrace to relax on at the front, from which we were able to spot howler monkeys, agoutis, hummingbirds, and lizards. Enrica was a very welcoming and friendly host. Located a short walk from both Playa Negra and from the centre of Cahuita/the Park entrance.
A surprisingly beautiful short stay.
The place is beautiful, right at the age of the Cahuita National Park. The lift to the park was greatly appreciated! Breakfast was delicious!
The host was very accommodating letting us to leave our car to stay longer.
Thank you!
Good value, Great location. The owner was helpful with good suggestions. It's just a block from restaurants but in a quiet area, if you don't mind the roosters. Cahuita offers several good restaurants in a laid back area with the national park easily accessible.
it’s a very cute family run hotel, that provides a great atmosphere and is super close to the national park. We really enjoyed the common kitchen and area, which provided a relaxed atmosphere and helped to get to know other travelers.
The villas are lovely and well equipped. Nice pool and relaxation area. The location is perfect for Playa Negra, there is Chow's Place, the Reggae Bar or the Atlantida (v good) close by for food or drinks. 20 min walk to cahuita town.
We have stayed at dozen of hotels in Costa Rica. This was on the top of the list of our stays!!. The rooms are clean, comfortable, safe and decorated with great taste. The owner is very kind and helped us a lot. Thank you very much!
The hosts are very friendly and informative of things to do in Cahuita. Room was big and very clean. Had AC and a TV. We only stayed 1 night as we were just passing through but highly recommended this place.
LaShamana is a hidden gem near Cahuita. A short drive out of town and and mile up a gravel road to a hideaway in the jungle. The sisters who run the place are great hosts. Loved the natural spring-pool.
Lovely little hotel in the middle of Cahuita. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable. Nice pool. Reliable hot water and WiFi. A very nice stay
Best place to stay in Cahuita! Nice people, clean and perfekt breakfast. Next to the busstation and near the store.
Big room and possible to have separate beds.
