The tour in the park was excellent, the town is laid with things easily found we had good restraunts and ths services were freindly and helpful.
The biggest drawback is the lack of bancos atimatico that works better
The line was long and many people had to repeat the sequence of instructions to get anything yet the hotels asked for cash only. Very frustrating and scary if you didn't bring enough dollars or colony s
The grocey store delived groceries a nd took a credit card. We had such a lai back experience.

Cahuita is a laid back town at the edge of Cahuita National Park. It is seeming in wildlife. You don't even have to enter the park to see the wildlife. We saw huge green iguana, common black hawk, families of capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, green basilisk, agoutis, herons, kingfishers - all outside the park. Inside the park we saw sloths, eyelash vipers, frigate birds and raccoons in addition to the other animals we saw outside. Beaches are pristine and nice to swim in. The neighboring town of Puerto Viego was another laid back village by the sea. A tranquil place to visit!

Cahuita was a friendly small community that showed so much love to us! Conventiently located near a beautiful beach, Playa Negro, and the food was fabulous. Lobster picked straight from the tank to our plate--delicious! Chef Doria at Caribbean Soul Taste was a joy and her food was just as amazing. Stopping at her restaurant is a must if you are in Cahuita. Another must is the Cahuita Nacional Park. We saw groups of monkeys and sloths and even a blue morpho butterfly in the park--and it's free! Would return to Cahuita in a heartbeat!

Cahuita has become crowded with tourists hoping to see the wildlife in the National Park, when you have so many tourists in the park it is difficult to view the animals because they just aren’t there, the wildlife will move deeper into the rainforest to escape the gaze of humans!!

The hotel owner Josey was very nice and helpful. When my spouse wasn’t feeling well Josey made her a herbal tea that helped her feel better. Josey made us feel welcome and at home, we recommend staying at her place

Our hosts were outstanding offering suggestions about local attractions, and local foods. The kitchen and dining facilities were very good. When one of our group had a minor medical issue our hosts arranged a home visit by a local doctor, imagine that!.
Downtown is a pleasant 20 walk away.

A wonderful, clean, comfortable stay in beautiful Cahuita. The couple that run it are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The bed are incredibly comfortable and AC in the structurally-sound rooms means no unwelcome critter visits in the night. Great small pool for a refreshing afternoon dunk, and a well-equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. Steps away from the park, the bus station, and “downtown” Cahuita. Highly recommend this property.
As a budget place, it was great. The best part of the place is the sweet French girl. She has all the great tips for your short stay in Cahuita; how to visit the National park, and how to move around the other small nice places around , Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, Manzanillo etc. She suggested to rent a bike which was the best tip for the stay.
The place has a kitchen too, where you can make a coffee anytime. Pretty place for the price.
Alberto (the manager) and his family made my stay here absolutey wonderful! From the moment I booked he was already helping where he could and sent useful information. During the stay I felt that they where very lovely and extremely helpful with everything. They do their best to make you feel comfortable (:.
The hotel is very close to the beach which is great. To Cahuita centre / national park it takes ca. 30-45mins. to walk.
The staff (Roberta who’s the owner and Elena) were one of the best. I had a snorkeling incident and they went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable as I was limping. They helped me move to a ground floor room, personally offered to pick up and drop off, and even arranged a last minute private shuttle to SJO at a very short notice. The property is very well located in Cahuita, a small breezy town. Everyone speaks English.
The property is less than 2 minutes walk away from the best beach in Cahuita, the Black Beach. The property has a beautiful garden and even star fruit trees. Edward and Anna are so nice and sweet. They even offered free water/juice/beer for free. The property itself is like a small paradise, such a welcoming and relaxing place to be. and our special love goes to Pluto, the cute puppy.
Hotel la Diosa is between playa grande and playa negra, where you can walk to (10-15 min). You will need the car to move around as Cahuita is too far too walk. There is a restaurant next door which is handy.
The location is quiet and we loved the swimming pool. There is access to the sea, but there is no beach as there are rocks.
Cleaner was very friendly and did a good job.
best hotel we had on our trip. the breakfast bread was awesome. you can get beers from a freige for 1500 colones. the rooms are just perfect. sone animals in the garden frogs, birds… not far from the city and not far from the beach. we could leave our car for 4 days in the parking lot because we where going to bocas del toro. afterwards we haf a stay for 2 nights again.
Tristan the owner was so nice.
The hotel is built on a hill with an outstanding view and a nice pathway between the fruit trees. Tristan also gave us a small tour around the garden and we got to taste some of his tropical organic fruit (cinnamon tree, water apple, tanjareen, guava and even sugar canes and Chocolate tree)
Whatever we needed he was always so helpful.
Very nice and well equipped bungalow with balcony. Safe parking. Laundry possibility. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. The beach and a good restaurant is very near. The Cahuita National Park is only 5 minutes driving... My daughter enjoyed the small swimming pool in the beautiful garden.
very beautiful place, quiet, and very close to cahuita national park. The owners are really nice and helpful. The kitchen was super nice! I think the best kitchen I’ve seen so far in all the hostels I’ve been. All in all a great experience, especially for the price!
Exceptional location - surrounded by widlife, just few steps from the national park. Very well thought facilities (hammock on the porch, place to dry your clother, wash your feet), well equipped kitchen. Best place in Cahuita for sure!
Very nice setting, the bungalows are well equipped and nicely decorated. Pool is clean and open from 8 to 8, allowing for a swim under the stars.location is perfect for a trip to the Cahuita National park or a beach nearby. Loved it.
Amazing bungalow with lovely decorations and furniture, the hammock is a nice addition allowing to chill outside enjoying the jungle :) Very close to Cahuita National Park and Puerto Viejo.
