While I only had the chance to stay one night at the Los Cielos del Caribe hotel in Cahuita, Limon, it was a stay I truly enjoyed and won’t soon forget. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the owner and host, Tristam, made the stay all that much better. Situated on a hill in a lovely town, this hotel is a newer build with quality in mind. My 2-story room with king size bed was perfect – the AC worked great, the bed and linens were luxurious, the kitchen had everything I needed, and the view was just unbeatable. Plus, if you are a fan of nature, the location doesn’t get any better. There is a path to walk up to a lookout point at the top of the hill where you can enjoy a morning coffee while listening and watching the groups of howler monkeys – much closer here than anywhere else I visited. On the path you’ll find cool anoles and dart frogs and sloths too if you are good at spotting them in the trees. The pool and hot tub were amazing and there was a deck with a grill for afternoon cookouts. There are only a few rooms for rent, so you kind of feel a bit like family while you’re there. Tris made me a delicious breakfast with white guava juice and even added maraschino cherries to my beautifully sliced banana – a pure delight! He was also very helpful with my luggage because the hill is quite steep – and just really the nicest host I’ve encountered in a very long time. You can tell he loves this place and sharing it with guests – and rightfully so because it's simply a slice of heaven on earth. If you get the chance, definitely make Los Cielos a part of your Costa Rican adventure!

The tour in the park was excellent, the town is laid with things easily found we had good restraunts and ths services were freindly and helpful.
The biggest drawback is the lack of bancos atimatico that works better
The line was long and many people had to repeat the sequence of instructions to get anything yet the hotels asked for cash only. Very frustrating and scary if you didn't bring enough dollars or colony s
The grocey store delived groceries a nd took a credit card. We had such a lai back experience.

Cahuita is a laid back town at the edge of Cahuita National Park. It is seeming in wildlife. You don't even have to enter the park to see the wildlife. We saw huge green iguana, common black hawk, families of capuchin, howler and spider monkeys, green basilisk, agoutis, herons, kingfishers - all outside the park. Inside the park we saw sloths, eyelash vipers, frigate birds and raccoons in addition to the other animals we saw outside. Beaches are pristine and nice to swim in. The neighboring town of Puerto Viego was another laid back village by the sea. A tranquil place to visit!

Cahuita was a friendly small community that showed so much love to us! Conventiently located near a beautiful beach, Playa Negro, and the food was fabulous. Lobster picked straight from the tank to our plate--delicious! Chef Doria at Caribbean Soul Taste was a joy and her food was just as amazing. Stopping at her restaurant is a must if you are in Cahuita. Another must is the Cahuita Nacional Park. We saw groups of monkeys and sloths and even a blue morpho butterfly in the park--and it's free! Would return to Cahuita in a heartbeat!

Cahuita has become crowded with tourists hoping to see the wildlife in the National Park, when you have so many tourists in the park it is difficult to view the animals because they just aren’t there, the wildlife will move deeper into the rainforest to escape the gaze of humans!!

Our hosts were outstanding offering suggestions about local attractions, and local foods. The kitchen and dining facilities were very good. When one of our group had a minor medical issue our hosts arranged a home visit by a local doctor, imagine that!.
Downtown is a pleasant 20 walk away.
We would like to upgrade our rating from a 9 to a 10, please.
Excellent location near Cahuita’s centre (main road). A short walk to the national park and the other amenities in Cahuita.
Jocelyn was extremely accommodating to our group of 14, as we had the entire place booked. This was highly appreciated as we had small kids with us.
Breakfast is fulfilling, a good combination of fresh fruit, scrabbled eggs and bread all of which was washed down with juice and black coffee.
Jocelyn response to the group’s request for extra food was a superb showing caring and customer orientation.
Again the bungalow/apart. is in the most lovely garden and each morning you can literally see and hear the howler monkey from you window or patio. Everything you need is there and walking around the town is easy and pleasant. So many sights to see sometimes over and over again like the Cahuita National Park with it rainforest (great guide - Richard) and literally the trail is beside the beautiful Playa Blanca. We went swimming at three beaches, Round Rock, Playa Negra, and Play Blanca - PARADISE!
The staff was very friendly. The ocean view was beautiful and very calming, and there are sitting areas and hammocks right in front of the sea. The breakfast was generous and delicious, and they offered one typical and one international option. The hotel also seems very kids-friendly. My room was very clean and the air conditioning really saved me during the nights. The hotel seemed to be safe compared to the other accomodations in Cahuita.
The bungalows are located right by the edge of the national park, making the stay in them a great experience to enjoy wildlife. Some monkeys welcomed us upon arrival, hummingbirds were flying around s bush right in front of our apartment, and at night one can hear several of the park inhabitants. The couple managing the accomodation are really nice and very helpful, they organized some nice activities in Cahuita for us.
Beautiful place to stay for our trip to Cahuita. We stayed in these cabins that's located close to the national park, so we saw Howler Monkeys and Watoosas on property, pretty cool. The cabins have mosquito nets and big windows to help with the air flow but luckily there's a fan to help at night cos it can get pretty hot. The shared kitchen was handy and the property was very nice and peaceful.
The property affords privacy yet we did not feel far removed from neighbors and amenities. Having the bikes was great - we loved the town of Cahuita and were happy we chose that as our base. The villa was spacious and clean - very simple but had everything we needed. Monkeys were a wonderful alarm. When the reggae bar got loud we went down and joined them.
The pool was amazing! The bed was very comfy and I liked the small terrace, we had dinner and breakfast there, we saw frogs, grasshoppers, hummingbirds and even caterpillars by our room and by the pool, it was beautiful. The gardens were very pretty and it's quite close to downtown Cahuita. The restaurant across the street is delicious.
We had an amazing stay at Cabinas Cahuita! The owner is super sweet and helpful. The location is excellent. There is a great coffee / food place across the street. The National park and beach and other restaurants are a short walk. It is also close to the bus stop so we were able to spent a day in a nearby town very easily.
Cahuita is a dream - make sure to visit on your trip to Costa Rica. Banana restaurant right opposite La Diosa is amazing and run by an awesome family. Make sure to check out playa negra, and the reggae bar (fireworks, music and bonfires on the beach at night!) The people of Cahuita are incredible, Gracias por todo
convenient and clean hotel with pool and breakfast. Rooms with AC and clean. very friendly staff and owner lives on property so very attentive to needs. was able to park car in secure lot on site. right in town and easy to walk to restaurants and beaches and National park.
The bungalows are super cute, comfortable , extremely clean and have everything you need . it’s a property with only 4 bungalows , really quiet and the gardens are so nice. it’s 15min walking outside of Cahuita but really close to the beach .
Loved every minute of it !
Good location (next to the center and the entrance of the cahuita park)
friendly staff
good and cosy common area (hammock)
nice bathroom
very big locker and they give you a key to lock it
free towel
comfy bed

very nice value for the price
very beautiful place, quiet, and very close to cahuita national park. The owners are really nice and helpful. The kitchen was super nice! I think the best kitchen I’ve seen so far in all the hostels I’ve been. All in all a great experience, especially for the price!
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean quiet room with great AC and fan, cabins had a pretty artsy costa rican vibe, beautiful gardens around property, convenient location just few minutes walk from cahuita and playa Negra, recycling receptacles
perfect last minute booking when I realized I’d made a mistake in planning. Room was spacious and beautiful. Hotel has beautiful views and a nice restaurant. Cahuita is such a lovely, quiet place, we walked easily to the beach and park.
We had an amazing time in Cahuita, Brigitte is very kind and helpful and makes the best breakfast :) Cabins were nice and comfy, the place surrounded by trees and near the beach is wonderful. Highly recommended!
