Great location - right on the beach and an easy walk to restaurants, etc. Our room was comfortable and clean, and had a balcony with view of ocean. Great restaurant - Roberto's - on the premises. Food and menu selections were very good for both breakfast and dinner. One of my favorite parts of this hotel was all the varied spaces where one could sit outdoors: at the restaurant right on the beach (or up under cover out of the sun); on the upper level where there was a small pool and a great view of the sunset over the water; and at least one area on each floor with a couple of chairs/ loveseat/ coffee table. Highly recommend!
Set amidst a tropical garden and offering an outdoor pool and an à la carte restaurant, Villa del Sueño is located in quiet Playa Hermosa beach in Papagayo Gulf. Free WiFi access is available.

A fabulous ensemble of musicians with a female vocalist were playing Santana on stage in the outdoor dining area our first night there and it was FANTASTIC. The breakfast is complimentary and has a range of items to order from bagels to crepes to Tico, always with fresh fruit. The dining staff is wonderful. The swimming pools are deluxe. We had a little balcony where we could observe and listen to birds and occasionally the howler monkeys. We walked to the beach every morning and evening (about 5 minutes) for sunrise and sunset. It is a long stretch of beach used by local families and you can always find shade in the early morning. Our room was so spacious, a firm yet comfortable mattress, air conditioned, small kitchen area, clothes closet with hangers, and a large bathroom area. Towels and linens were very nice. There is a safe in the room.
Featuring a hot tub, swimming pool, garden and free Wi-Fi in all areas, Hotel & Villas Huetares is located 200 metres from Playa Hermosa Beach and 15 minutes’ drive from Cocos Beach.

Great location to start your trip to Costa Rica, it's 30min away from Liberia. The hotel has a good restaurant right next door and a small store right after. Less than 10 minutes away from the beach.
The room wasn't anything special, but as shown. Nice pool area though.

Quick walk to the beach. Monkeys were out in the trees. Cabin is cute and has outdoor kitchen. Nothing fancy but has all you need for a cozy beach spot.

A few nice beachside restaurants. Great sunsets.
A few nice beachside restaurants. Great sunsets. Perfect beach for relaxing and swimming as waves are moderate, not a busy place, but access to plenty of water adventures or outings away from the beach.
We used Juan from INFINITY TOURS to plan activities - highly recommend him. He set us up with a same day snorkel tour. Find him on Facebook or call direct at 508-8966-7107, you can also flag him down on the beach as he's often there organizing tours. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063937037776

Pretty beach...and waves ...I would have preferred calmer sea. The jet skis come in too close to the shore and are hardly ecological.
The fish restaurant on the beach is really good.. lovely staff and very fresh food at reasonable prices

The beach was a little disappointing.
The beach was a little disappointing. The access to the beach was piled with trash bags and recycling that needed collected. The concrete tables were in disrepair. Old tire laying on one of the broken benches.
The dinner and show at Villa del Sueno was great!

Really loved this calm, friendly beach.
Really loved this calm, friendly beach. The water was calm for swimming and lovely to look at. There are four nice open air restaurants facing it, we liked all of them, although Aqua Sport played very loud music at times, when the sound of waves and birds would have been much nicer.

Playa Hermosa is a wonderful, small area with a fantastic, calm, sandy beach and a front row seat for the beautiful sunsets. We stayed here for our last night in Costa Rica since it's only a short drive to the Liberia airport. I would suggest spending 1 or 2 nights here at the start or end of your vacation. It's a nice alternative to staying at the airport hotel and it's very easy and quick to get to the airport by rental care or transfer (25-35 minutes depending on traffic). Just make sure that you chose the correct Playa Hermosa, there is more than one in Costa Rica!
the best sunset in the world! 2 endless pools, awesome staff, we were always outside! except to sleep and shower! the apartment was great, the shuttles every 5 minutes or less were great as it is on a steep hill. Once down on the beach area, there was other hotels and restaurants to use if we wanted to. The beach bar, as it is out of the way, was always uncrowded, and so were the beach beds. They have a Ferris wheel and bumper cars with a churros stand on week ends, which is nice, churros are soooo good!
This super kool lil place is walking distance to the beach where there are several nice restaurants with awesome food..their pool is beautiful & all rooms have balconies facing it..your breakfast of several options is made when you order.after a couple days & speaking to both locals & extended stay tourists, I could walk myself because it is that SAFE..in that time also some of the locals & I were on first name basis!! Playa Hermosa is quiet, clean, & friendly..Im going to plan longer stays for sure.
Lots of space in the 2 bedroom apartment for the 3 of us - my husband, sister and myself. Very clean with nice bathroom with a great shower.15 minute walk to 2 areas of Playa Hermosa beach. Great balcony with a forest across a busy road so saw many birds there. Very good air-conditioning which made the apartment very comfortable as it was hot while we were there- 32-36C during the day.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good supermarket underneath.
The location is great, just a very short walk to the beach on the main road in town. Parking is secure. The pool is very nicely kept as are the hotel grounds. The town is very quiet, except for the howler monkeys - so many to see! Not many restaurants in town, but the ones we did try were great. Nice, quiet beach. If you want more a more lively town and things to do (especially at night), I would recommend staying at Coco beach and not Hermosa.
The hotel is 40 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel is not hard to find driving there for the first time. The staff was very kind and helpful. The property is comfortable, clean and great value. Not 5 star facility but very nice and I would definitely go back there. The location is outstanding, right on the beach. Playa Hermosa is one of the nicest around. Great for playing in the surf, walking and we had trees for shade.
This is the perfect stay in Playa Hermosa. It is close to the airport so you can easily extend the final hours of vacation, or the best spot to start vacation. Its proximity to groceries, restaurants and the beach is perfect. Two pools is fabulous to relax in when you have had your fill of beach time. Amazing value for the money. Also quite family friendly.
Such a neat hotel with a vintage feel to it. Lovely beach front patio and great breakfast and cocktails on the beach. Excellent friendly staff. Fantastic location. Shower was barely a trickle - water supply problems in the dry season? Don't leave food on the counter of the mini kitchen as we had many tiny bugs chomping our baked goods when we returned.
The view from the hotelroom as well as the Villa and restaurant was phenomenal. The Villa was very spacious and clean.
The restaurant staff was very accomodating to prepare ad hoc Kid friendly dishes. The shuttle service throughout the property and to the beach was great. Free kayaks&paddleboards at the beach were a plus!
Very well maintained property, friendly and helpful staff, quick access to the beach via shuttle (special thanks from the 2.5 year old traveller). The beach (Playa Hermosa) is picturesque and clean, all the facilities are right there.
Overall a great choice for a family vacation.
The staff at the hotel were wonderful. Everyone went the extra mile to assure that we truly enjoyed our visit. Restaurant was excellent- with wonderful local cuisine. We would certainly recommend the Bosque for a wonderful beach hotel experience.
The hotel is a beach front property. Playa Hermosa is quieter, less touristy than other beaches. The beach is very clean, and the water is clear. The hotel pool on the roof has one of the best views of the bay.
The hosts are amazing...kind and generous. Had breakfast basic in the fridge on arrival and was gifted a lovely lasagna dinner in the middle of the week. Joanie even brought me into Playa del Coco one day.
Comfortable, clean room located a short walk from Playa Hermosa. Friendly staff that go out of their way to take care of you and provide good travel tips. Excellent breakfast included and easy parking!
It's a great boutique hotel. Friendly, efficient staff, great food, clean and well-maintained facilities, good live music, as well as lovely ambient music during breakfast.
The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent! The pool was great to come back and cool off in after a hot day on the beach.
