Although I loved Pacific Edge Eco Lodge and would definitely return, I found the little town of Dominical a bit off-putting. Seemed to be filled with aging gringos with no particular layout or planning. The beach was gorgeous though.
Also, we visited Naucaya Waterfall, several miles from Dominical which was fabulous.

Small place, very quite and relaxing. Nice beach in walking distance from any point of the town.
Only few restaurants and one supermarket.
If you look for more entertaiment, Uvita would probabaly satisfy you much more..

Beautiful laid-back area with lots of things to do within an easy drive. Great beach area and a charming little town with lots of great places to shop and dine. We especially loved waffle fries at Fuego Brewing Company (and the cute treetop vibe), tacos at Hotel Rio Del Lindo, and homemade empanadas at Mama Toucans Natural Foods Store.

Dominical is like Ubud or Goa in the 90s- a chilled yoga/surf town. Hippie yoga pants and hammocks are on sale in the shops; Mama toucans sells pretty much everything from vegan food, chocolate and cosmetics. The food here is phenomenal: Phat noodle is excellent, Fuego brews its own beer from passion fruit to a blonde lager and has an excellent menu, the Pescado loco is a small menu but omg the fish taco was sublime. The restaurants are laid back but are really world class food stops. Very close to nauyaca waterfall, the reptile Centre, Alturas and Uvita & whale tail. But the best part is the excellent yoga on offer at Danyasa, which has the most beautiful yoga shala I have ever been in. Rockstar yoga is also great- fab teachers & a lovely space. I loved this place. Super friendly - feels v safe for a female traveler. Quite a few long term residents & off-griders here

If you love surfing, quiet beach town vibes.
If you love surfing, quiet beach town vibes. This is your place. We surfed every day. It’s beautiful. Some great restaurants around too like the Thai place. We did yoga in the yoga place up the road too. And there’s an organic market ‘mama toucan’ where we got some yummmy food as I’m Gluten Free and dairy free and there was lots of options for me

We loved the beach and there were lots of places to get a variety of food and drink. We loved the pineapple juice from the beach bar and also the milk shakes and frappe from the ice cream place just as you turn into Dominical from the main road. There was a lovely walk along the river road too.
Hona's location was great. Right on the beach and still central to the heart of Dominical. Because it's located off the main street, the hotel escapes the crazy noise and construction; also a safe area, which is important for a female traveling alone. The downstairs lounge and yoga area were beautiful.
However, the main highlight of the stay was all thanks to Yeison, who was so welcoming and quick to accommodating all needs and questions throughout my stay; he overcompensated for any of the hotel's shortcomings!
Great place. Very laid back. Cool vibe. Rooms a little small but very nice. Great shower and comfortable bed. Close walk to town and beach. Pool and outside area is awesome. Music playing but not aggravating. Owner lights up flaming candles at night. Kitchen area out back, made my own Costa Rican coffee with cool local drip process every morning. Overall a super place, I would visit again.
The view from the lodge is nothing short of stunning and the property is gorgeous. It's also conveniently situated within a short distance from several beautiful (and empty) beaches. Sid and Michaelynn are fantastic hosts: warm, friendly, and hospitable. Breakfast was fresh and delicious - well worth the extra fee. Highly recommended.
The gardens are very pretty and the hotel has a nice large pool. The hotel personnel are very friendly. They prepared a take-away breakfast as we left on a tour prior to breakfast, switch out pool towels for dry ones and have a slightly later check out at noon. Breakfast was nice. Its a short 20minute walk to the Dominical beach.
Perfect location with river view, 10 minutes walk to the beach but also great to spent the day at the hotel itself lounging on the beds around the pool. Excellent organic store in front to shop lunch supplies. Breakfast in the morning at the hotel is also convenient. Rooms are nice and very clean.
Round the corner from the beach and a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. Super cosy and relaxing. Was great to have the kitchen and fridge available. You get all the info you might need when you check in, plus you can find out more from the folder at reception.
The Tribe Boutique Hotel was really extraordinary. The style makes everything very cozy and you feel at home there. Especially because the owners and the hotel manager Dani are super friendly and helpful. We would stay there again at any time.
We wanted at first to stay one night and ended up being there for 2. We loved it, everything was great, 3 min walk to the beach. Amy was very helpful with attractions and recommandations. We will defenately stay again if ever in Dominical.
Great location close to the beach, Kitchen was easy to cook in and had enough room for everyone and good equipment, Staff very friendly, Chill spaces are really nice, Rooms are big! We extended our stay as we loved it there so much.
Very nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, nice pool and a superb view. Very easy to get to Dominical, Uvita and several tours from the hotel. Group of monkeys close by, nice to watch. Breakfast and restaurant were very good.
Good location in Dominical. The staff is friendly and helped us park our car. Value is good, it's a cheap hotel and the facilities looked new, it seems to be a new building.
