Even though I arrived quite late they still offered me a day tour to La Leona the next morning. Also the garden is very large so actually there is no need to go to the national park. You can just wander around and search for animals, especially at night. The campfire they set up every evening is also very enjoyable.

Absolutely one of the best and most unique places I have ever stayed at. If you love nature, this is the place for you. Got monkeys and sloths on the property as well as a kinkajou and tree anteater. Even an ocelot is within the realms of possibility. Found peccaries within an hour walk and always plenty of amazing birds! Jackie is a doll and her family are a true gift. Love them so much. Cozy beds and lockers in the room. Warm showers with strong pressure.

wonderful setting in a lush jungle filled with monkeys, (including one resident Spider monkey!) tons of birds, lots toucans and macaws up close, and a sleeping sloth up the tree, plus land crabs galore and a pesky raccoon in the kitchen. lovely place to hang in the garden! and enjoy some short trails into the back cabinas. great proximity to walk into town or to the ocean.

There's a common kitchen and the staff was helpful. I borrowed an old motorcycle from one of the handymen which was neat! There are raccoons at night around the commons which we and everyone else found adorable.
