Pretty beach...and waves ...I would have preferred calmer sea. The jet skis come in too close to the shore and are hardly ecological.
The fish restaurant on the beach is really good.. lovely staff and very fresh food at reasonable prices

The beach was a little disappointing.
The beach was a little disappointing. The access to the beach was piled with trash bags and recycling that needed collected. The concrete tables were in disrepair. Old tire laying on one of the broken benches.
The dinner and show at Villa del Sueno was great!

Really loved this calm, friendly beach.
Really loved this calm, friendly beach. The water was calm for swimming and lovely to look at. There are four nice open air restaurants facing it, we liked all of them, although Aqua Sport played very loud music at times, when the sound of waves and birds would have been much nicer.

Hosts were more than gracious, we had a small issue with the water heater and it was taken care of at our check out.
Very nice and available people. Gave us some great advice on restaurants and places to go. Would stay there again.

Playa Hermosa is a wonderful, small area with a fantastic, calm, sandy beach and a front row seat for the beautiful sunsets. We stayed here for our last night in Costa Rica since it's only a short drive to the Liberia airport. I would suggest spending 1 or 2 nights here at the start or end of your vacation. It's a nice alternative to staying at the airport hotel and it's very easy and quick to get to the airport by rental care or transfer (25-35 minutes depending on traffic). Just make sure that you chose the correct Playa Hermosa, there is more than one in Costa Rica!

The beach surroundings looked a little burnt out, very dry, not as lush and green as compared to the beaches down by Manuel Antonio or Uvita, Costa Rica. Please note that we did visit here during the dry season.
This super kool lil place is walking distance to the beach where there are several nice restaurants with awesome food..their pool is beautiful & all rooms have balconies facing it..your breakfast of several options is made when you order.after a couple days & speaking to both locals & extended stay tourists, I could walk myself because it is that SAFE..in that time also some of the locals & I were on first name basis!! Playa Hermosa is quiet, clean, & friendly..Im going to plan longer stays for sure.
Lots of space in the 2 bedroom apartment for the 3 of us - my husband, sister and myself. Very clean with nice bathroom with a great shower.15 minute walk to 2 areas of Playa Hermosa beach. Great balcony with a forest across a busy road so saw many birds there. Very good air-conditioning which made the apartment very comfortable as it was hot while we were there- 32-36C during the day.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good supermarket underneath.
It's hard to answer this question because both my husband and I got very sick on our first full day there. Could it have been from the dinner? Dinner was delicious but we were very very ill. Because it lasted only 24 hours, we think it may have been food poisoning.
The hotel is beautiful and clean and the staff are excellent tho and we would not hesitate to stay here again if we were going to visit Playa Hermosa.
you cannot beat the proximity to the beach! we love Playa Hermosa… so peaceful, warm water, the nicest people… and this property blended right in to the surroundings. we were surrounded by howler monkeys and iguanas while we were in the beautiful pool! we had the oceanfront suite, and fell asleep to the sounds of the waves every night. the staff was always so helpful and sweet!
The location of the property was excellent, especially with beautiful views of the Sunset each evening, walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean.
The hill was a little challenging at times, but we got used to taking the shuttle on a regular basis, or walking up the hill for a bit of a workout.
Very well maintained property, friendly and helpful staff, quick access to the beach via shuttle (special thanks from the 2.5 year old traveller). The beach (Playa Hermosa) is picturesque and clean, all the facilities are right there.
Overall a great choice for a family vacation.
The location was perfect, on the beautiful black sand beaches of Playa Hermosa. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, although slightly pricey. Short drive to Playa del Coco for more restaurants and shops if you were interested.
Good location, nice pool area, lunch/dinner buffet was very delicious. Supermarket and local pizza spot right next door. Beach 5min away. Despite my many critiques, I guess it does have a good value cause it's the cheapest option I found in the area.
The hosts are amazing...kind and generous. Had breakfast basic in the fridge on arrival and was gifted a lovely lasagna dinner in the middle of the week. Joanie even brought me into Playa del Coco one day.
Splendide and in good condition with a welcoming restaurant and very good service Very well located on the best entry on playa hermosa near playa bonita and not far from activities in p’aya coco
This was by far the best Hotel I have stayed iCosta Rica! Right on the Beach 🏝️ superb Staff ….if I come back to Acosta Rica I will for sure stay at this hotel again!!!!
The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent! The pool was great to come back and cool off in after a hot day on the beach.
