This was our first trip with a baby - we had our 4 month old daughter with us and stayed here for 8 nights. It was truly exceptional. The staff is so thoughtful, kind, generous, gracious, and helpful. Our baby was in love with them all holding her while we got to eat meals. I am forever grateful to the lovely ladies working the front desk and restaurant - they made our trip so wonderful. Speaking of the meals, wow. Breakfast was awesome and has such a great menu that even being there for 8 days, it never got old. We also had dinner and lunch at the restaurant - also so great. The room was perfect and the free laundry service was so helpful with the baby. We even had a pack n play provided by the place to borrow making our travel even easier. We got to surf everyday with the ease of the ocean right down the epic jungle path. We watched monkeys for hours from our balcony, spent afternoons taking our baby in the pool for the first time, and could enjoy air conditioned naps in the hot afternoon. This will be a trip we hold dear forever as it was our first as parents and Olas Verdes will be remembered as the best possible place to spend it. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will be back for sure.

The town is very charming with lots of both local, mid range and upscale restaurants. The problem is with the roads. We drove 2 1/2 hours from Playa flamingo down the coast and fully half of that time was on rutted dirt roads. The town itself had ro ases that were worse than rutted with giant potholes sometimes two or 3 feet deep. It made us wish we had a four-wheel-drive which many of the locals drive. They called them quads, which are four wheeled ATVs. We were there in dry season so I can only imagine what happens to the roads in the rainy season. It would not be a pretty sight.

Costa Rica is a very special country, but what I like best of all in Nosara (Guiones/Pelada) are the people. Both Ticos (Costa Ricans) and expats are among the friendliest, most genuinely helpful and generous, and most laid back folks anywhere. And it is the gorgeous natural beauty and tranquility of this place that must be the cause.

Nosara is a small town and the area is not very developed. Driving was somewhat terrifying (more so than the zip lining, to be sure). The nature there is beautiful and preserved. I would recommend staying at a nice resort if you want to go there. There are several and this would have made our experience much better. Since we had a kitchen, we used the grocery store often. It had great products, but was not air conditioned.

Nosara is definitely a place to go if you like surfing.
Nosara is definitely a place to go if you like surfing. There are a variety of waves for all types of surfers and the beach is HUGE so there is a ton of room for all surfers. The water is warm and you can body surf, boogie board as well...you really want to be "into the ocean" to be in Nosara...we took beach cruisers from one to the other on the beach since the sand is compacted...that was a lot of fun...and a beautiful ride. People are GREAT in Nosara....we will return.

Nosara is a gorgeous little village by the beach, but it is fast changing. It is very now americanised, lots of new expensive houses are being built. Restaurants and bars are good, but more expensive than everywhere we have been in CR. Most shops, hotels bars and restaurants charge in $ (although you can pay cash in Colones).
I enjoyed Nosara, the Guiones Beach is gorgeous especially at sunset, but I did not feel like I was in CR. I think Samara would have been more what I was looking for.

More expensive than the average Costa Rican town, has been developing massively in the past few years, the road access is as poor as always though. Beaches are fantastic, restaurant options are amazing (this wasn’t the case a few years ago). The Nomadic Hotel a gem.
Olas Verdes has everything: great location (just out of town, but quick and easy to get to things), attentive staff, great surf school, delicious, fresh food, clean pool, and one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever been to. Rooms are simple and clean - nothing fancy. Cannot recommend more highly. And one unexpected plus: they do your laundry for you for free every day! Given that you will be wet and muddy some or much of your stay in Costa Rica, this is a huge perk that we did not expect when we booked, but immediately came to love.
I recently had then pleasure of staying at Norte during my visit to Nosara, from the moment I arrived I was blown away with the impeccable services, beautiful amenities and overall attention to the details, this hotel exceeded all my expectations in every way
The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel like a valued guest from the very beginning, they were always available to assist with any requests or questions and their genuine warmth and professionalism added a personal touch to my stay
Che Nosara is a lovely intimate boutique hotel close to the beach. The gardens are well kept and added to the feel of the place. The food was great. Really enjoyed the complementary breakfasts made to order and served to your table. The signature cocktails later in the day were delicious and unique. The suite we had was very spacious, the bed and pillows were super comfortable. The hosts were always available and went out of their way to accommodate any request.
This experience was one for the books. I traveled to Nosara with my best friend and we had such a blast. Yan and Ryan our hosts made this the absolute best experience. They have a gorgeous therapy pool, beautiful outdoor spaces, excellent beds, wonderful AC, and delicious breakfasts. Not to mention you’re a few minutes walk from the beach. Just incredible all around. Would stay here every time I visit Nosara. Hands down.
We‘ve been there for more than two weeks and extended our stay because we fell in love with this place. If you love design, it's your place to be. It's a stylish, laid back boutique hotel in the heart of nosara (guiones) The owners Luca&Lisa were lovely and prepared delicious breakfast and coffee every morning by themselfes. They have a bar with the best cocktails in town. We’re going to miss this place a lot!
The location was only about 6 mins walk to the beach. You just can’t beat that kind of location. The staff was really nice, the cocktails are way better than the ones from the states. The rooms so beautiful! This place is brand new and their hard work put into it was evident. The pool was refreshing and so close to all the rooms. Fantastic boutique hotel!
living hotel is total paradise! Very peaceful space to relax and hang out. Feels like a resort without all the people and centrally located. A shuttle picked us up from Liberia airport and we never needed a car. Short walk to the beach and restaurants and not a bad meal was had. This was my first taste of Costa Rica and it was a delightful stay!
Loved the pool area and hammocks. outstanding breakfasts, direct access to 2 beaches and walking to Restaurant La Luna perfect. Didnt need transport as could walk along the beach to restaurants, bank, supermarket. Nosara lovely and rustic. The kitchen made cerviche and cooked our tuna from the fish we caught on our fishing charter.
This is a great boutique hotel. Perfect location for accessing the beach and right in front of the good surf. I also liked the shaded property and refreshing pool. The short walk to the center of town was easy. The Destiny restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing. The food there was phenomenal!
Extremely friendly and happy staff! Awesome breakfast every morning!! Clean rooms with strong air conditioning. Chill pool area. Close to the beaches, great location! Quiet and peaceful. Wild animals abound. Best stay in Costa Rica! Owners are gems! Everything was glorious. ¡pura vida!
I enjoyed the complementary breakfast e.g. the Acai/Dragon ball from Mena at the bar of the hotel.
I loved the location of the hotel in Nosara.
I loved the thoughtfulness and kindness of Virginia at the reception of the hotel.
It’s a high-end surfing & yoga spa with enormous facilities and day/night activities. You could spend your vacation without leaving the hotel. Luxury suites and very kind staff. Amazing place overall.
This is one of the beat hotels ever. Really - you cannot go wrong with great location, amazing healthy and tasty food, best architecture (a Ben Saxe design) and just all around good vibes.
