Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.

We found Praia a quiet, charming city with friendly inhabitants. The atmosphere was peaceful yet lively. It is easy to get around Praia. You can walk to all places on the Plateau once you are there. It is very easy to get a taxi and they are not expensive at all. It is easy to find good places to eat - on the Plateau as well as on the beach etc.
It is good fun to roam around in the market and next to it, it is easy to find the small busses to Tarrafal, Assomada, Cidade Velha and so on.
The spacious apartment is very tastefully furnished and spotless clean. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the sea and nothing blocks your way. I would say it’s the best view in town. The area is safe and peaceful, you can reach the beach Quebra Canela strolling along the promenade and there are some really nice cafes and restaurants close by in Av. Santiago in Palmarejo. The hosts are very lovely and helpful and provide you with all information you need for your stay!
We felt welcomed and relaxed during our stay in Praia thanks to our great experience at the Hotel Happy Day. The room was very clean with a nice balcony. AC, Wifi, Airportshuttle it all worked as stated on the Internet. The breakfast was very delicious. The staff is friendly and really flexible and so will provide you with help and tips for any situation. We would book this Hotel all over again.
Vielen Dank Hotel Happy Day!
Great location right on the main street. Lots of restaurants right downstairs with live music
Very comfortable and spacious. Beds qnd shower was comfortable. Hot water doesn't run for very long but a cool shower is much needed after a hot day outside.
Has airport pick up and drop off for an extra charge.
Air conditioner is also an extra charge and does not cool down much but still useful as the weather is hot.
The room was nice and clean. I only stayed one night. I arrived late but the owners helped me by booking a taxi to pick me up at the port, they also came to give me the key.
The owners also helped me pick up a aluguer to the mountain by dropping at the « station ».
They were both super nice and really helpful.
The location is quite nice and there is a nice brunch place not too far from the hotel.
I enjoyed the hospitality in the first place. My wife and I arrived in Praia at 2 am, and the team was there to welcome us and make sure we check in accordingly. Plus, the apartment is so neat, and very spacious. I definitely recommend the apartment without hesitation to anyone who wants to enjoy their vacations in a cosy, calm, secured and neighborhood. My wife and I had the best stay ever.🇸🇳❤️
It was cheap and close to the airport which is what I needed as I was arriving at night, so it was just a quick stop for me before going to a nicer Airbnb further away. I liked that they gave a bottle of water for guests as we don’t always have time to go and buy some before arriving. It’s not that close to any nice beaches or shops, the location is quite industrial.
The apartment is cosy, fresh, very clean and located in a nice neighborhood. Easy to get around from the location. Antonio and Camilla are very friendly and know everything about the Island and will give you great tips to get the best out of your stay. They are guides too and our tour to the countryside was amazing!
The hotel is beautiful, simple and in a good location that felt safe and was close to everything. The staff is amazing and so helpful, especially Becky who made us feel so welcome, thank you! The salt water pool is so wonderful and refreshing. The restaurant serves delicious food and breakfast every day.
The rooms with sea view are worth it, one of the best locations in Praia for restaurants and walking around. The breakfast has great choice and very good breads. Lunch snacks very good (sandwich with fresh tuna, tomato salad, ...), best place for a sunset cocktail, and more...
Angela was a super host, before and and during our (too short) stay in Praia. Immaculate and super large apartment, with an amazing view on Praia port and city, close to many restaurants and view points.
The hotel staff was super friendly! Always ready to help or explain. Amazing cachupa for breakfast! Would recommend.
Also waking distance from nice beaches and restaurants!
The location was good and very clean and the staffs are so welcoming and there for the guess.
I will come back there again anytime i should travel to Praia.
