FAQs about hotels in Copenhagen

Copenhagen- A cosmopolitan capital of cuisine

One of the world’s most environmentally friendly cities, Copenhagen has an abundance of water, parks and bicycle paths. Famous for its fine dining and 8 kilometres of sandy beaches, this city is one of the North’s best-kept secrets!

Copenhagen is known as the City of Spires because its skyline is broken by the steeple of beautiful churches and castles. The distinctive Frederiksstaden district has two of the city’s iconic symbols: Amalienborg Palace and Frederik's Church.

Discover the city’s significant jazz scene at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and two of the world’s oldest amusement parks, the Tivoli Gardens and Dyrehavsbakken. The city’s 13 Michelin star restaurants guarantee that any fine dining needs are fully met. Speaking of food, Copenhagen has one of the world’s highest numbers of restaurants per capita!

Views of Copenhagen are hard to beat from Rundetårn, or Round Tower, and the spire of the Church of Our Saviour. For a bit of alternative culture a bit closer to the ground, nearby Freetown Christiania is the place to go to! It’s a self-proclaimed autonomous district, famous for its liberal lifestyle and creative arts. A definite must-see!

Kastrup Airport, the largest one in the Scandinavia, is only a 15-minute train ride from the city centre. Whether you choose to stay at a hip hostel, luxury hotel or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has a perfect Copenhagen accommodation.

Great town to spend time walking around in interesting neighbourhoods like Christiania and downtown. It is small and easy to enjoy on foot, though if you don't like too much walking, there's a workable metro to go around. There is a lot to see, a lot to do, a lot to try in terms of food and lovely places and as such is a good target to come for the extended weekend. In addition to that, there's a few things worth jumping out of town for like Louisiana Museum of Modern Arts which is a 45 minutes away from the city but well worth it! One thing to keep in mind is that it is a costal city in a flat piece of land which means there's always a wind and during colder parts of the year, it can be quite chilly.

I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed Copenhagen.

I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed Copenhagen. It is a very easy city to navigate with excellent transport links. It is a bilingual city and we never had any problems at all getting very friendly assistance from passers-by. Loved the varied architecture - medieval to cutting edge. All major sites are easily accessed and the Canal boat rides are excellent. Great food with many options. Direct links into Copenhagen from the airport.

Copenhagen is a great city to get introduced to the Scandinavian esthetic and lifestyle. It's ideal for a short stay or a weekend getaway. We were very impressed by the diversity and quality of the food scene. We were also surprised to see so many families with babies compared to other Western capitals. I guess the Scandinavian welfare system truly works! On the negative side, Danish people are extremely racist towards Muslims and Arabs. My family was bullied and subjected to racist slurs which I found very shocking coming from Washington DC. I also highly recommend Copenhagen for its proximity to Sweden which makes it easy to visit two countries at once.

Copenhagen is a dream city for everyone who wants to have sustainable city trips. A very compact city, with great walking tours, beautiful architecture, and many sightseeing. 3 days are enough for proper introduction of the city center. But if you want to explore also the surroundings - plan 1 or 2 extra days. You won´t be disappointed.

I enjoyed seeing the historic sights.

I enjoyed seeing the historic sights. There was not a central historic district, sot the sights were spread out throughout the city. The public transportation made it easy to get from one place to another quickly. I enjoyed Nyhaven, changing of the guards, palaces and museums. I took an organized day trip to Kronborg and Frederiksborg Castles as well as Roskilde Cathedral

My second stay in this hotel. The location of the hotel is simply perfect, walking distance from the Copenhagen Airport and also from Kastrup metro station (M2 takes you to the city centre) This time I was upgraded to a premium room, which was huge, with a big bathoom with a window. The room was very clean, bed comfortable. This time hotel was not very full so there were no problems with queue at front desk that I experienced the first time. Also breakfast parlour was not crowded. I will definitely return to this hotel.

It is one the best stay I have ever had. Alexandra Hotel is not so big but it is perfect! First of all location was great! Just in the heart of Kopenhag. Staff was so lovely and helpfull. Room was big enough and clean. Every evening between 17:00-19:00 there is free wine time and it is a great idea for guests. You can meet other hotel guests in the lobby talk or even you are alone have a nice time in the lobby with wine complimentary. There was coffee machine in the room that what I always want from a hotel.

This has been the second time I stayed in this hotel: it is really well located, less than 10 minutes walk from the train station and about the same time to be in the city centre. And the price is really good for Copenhagen. The room was clean, functional and very quiet thanks to a window to the inner courtyard. The breakfast was really nice with freshly baked bread, fruit and coffee. On top of that, you had a splendid view across the city.

first of all, its really clean. The lobby in hotel is huge, there is so much stuff to do - pool table, arcade games, futboll field. there is a terrace on the rooftop and bar that works on weekends i think. the place is insane, literally best hostel i stayed so far. its really close to tivoli amusement park and central station of Copenhagen so I liked it but it's not like very close to city centre.

Interesting place on the northern fringe of Copenhagen's city centre. That's not the most vibrant part of the city but hotel is strategically placed near one of the major traffic hubs. Even the public transport boat station is within walking distance. Passing trains (my room was directly facing railway tracks) didn't disturb my sleeping, but that's subjective. Room was surprisingly spacious.
