Loved the feel of the Zona Colonial where we stayed.
Loved the feel of the Zona Colonial where we stayed. Beautiful architecture and historical buildings. Interesting history. Guides on every street corner who with lots of pride and patriotism show you around. Visited Lago Los Tres Ojos really worthwhile. Lots of security. We felt very safe.

El Conde is a nice street to walk on in the day or early evening, just stay as far to the East side as possible. The beaches in Santo Domingo are filled with water garbage, go to Boca Chica if you'd like to actually get wet, but you better pack a lunch because everyone will try to rip you off for literally everything. China Town is nice, try to go during lunch hours on the weekend where they have amazing street food.

The owner/Host was very accommodating with a detailed tour of the entire house on every level. During the tour the host detailed the proper use of the pool functions and I was super happy that my girlfriend was allowed entry prior to my arrival to prep for me. I would definitely recommend this property for a stay.

We enjoyed our 3 full day vacation.
We enjoyed our 3 full day vacation. Great food, nice balance of things to do (historical, nightlife, shopping, recreation). We had an excursion to rappel down several waterfalls. Then we spent 2 days enjoying several different restaurants, walking along the Malecón, visiting the caves of Tres Ojos, and enjoying the weather. We are already looking forward to our next visit! We would recommend the following restaurants: Affogato Cafe, Raymond Mariscos, WTF “What’s That Food”, M7, and Jalao. Honestly all our meals were 10/10. Service was good also and we only know a little Spanish. We enjoyed that there was more than enough to do within walking distance of our hotel in Zona Colonia.

Santo Domingo is an incredible city.
Santo Domingo is an incredible city. You feel the history there and of course it's the people who make the city so vibrant. I was a solo traveller and never ever felt unsafe : everybody was very welcoming to me and I appreciate it a lot. When I arrived, I took the metro: it was clean and easy to understand. There are no electronic machines to buy tickets: you had to buy a ticket at the glass box with a metro worker sitting there.
Zona Colonial is the place to see: very old historic buildings, local cafes are very charming. And of course the University!
I went clubbing at night and OMG, it was so cool. Dominicans know how to do la fiesta.
Everybody told me to be careful when filming with your cellphone outside in the city and watch your bags. I never had any issue with this. I was filming all freely and never felp unsafe. May be I was lucky, I don't know.
I spent only two days there but I will be back for more. And again, it's the people!!! Dominican people!! Free-spirited, music-loving people!!

Santo Domingo is a nice Place to vacate.
Santo Domingo is a nice Place to vacate. Plenty of casinos restaurants and Music, Good price nice people. Zona Colonial is magical at night time with street musicians, show. the food is very good.
Getting around Santo Domingo is best and cheap with UBER. so you get to meet some of the hardworking people and support more the small local people.
Cheapest place in Santo Domingo but a bit shady and damp… and so noisy! There is a disco club and karaoke inside the hotel, so you have very loud music and people screaming all night.
Apart from that it’s not too far from the touristic places even though not properly in the zona colonial and there was hot water and private bathroom.
Breakfast was ok, eggs with a ham and cheese sandwich, and coffee and juice.
You really go there to have a cheap place to sleep but other than that it’s not a really nice place to hang around
The location was magnificent supermarket, fast food restaurants easy access, the banks was easy access shopping mall. Miss Cristina Pimentel your service was fantastic anything I needed you was there to assist from booking to airport pickup and airport shuttle the hotel was clean, comfortable and was a well spent vacation. Not the mentioned the swimming pool omg on the roof top with that beautiful view across santo domingo.looking forward for another stay there in the future
It was a great experience to be in the Suite Colonial by Cristi. This boutique hotel has a beautiful location and offers a friendly service at a very fair cost. I loved the hospitality and the polite way of the whole team by the hotel. The hotel is clean and functional. There are so many places to visit around the hotel on foot. Definitively I recommend the hotel in the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo. Thanks, Manuel and his team. It was amazing.
Our host was amazing. We were in contact with him from the moment we booked and he arranged for a pickup from the airport. Helped us find our way around and brought us in contact with a good car rental agency. The room was awesome with a nice mattress. It is also smack dab in the centre of Santo Domingo so everything in the Zona colonial is really close by. All in all we had a wonderful stay.
The location is excellent since you are close both to the old colonial zone and business and shopping centers west of the city. Hotels in the area are mostly premium so it is a good and cost effective alternative for the location. The staff is very friendly and makes up for some of the shortcomings.
Great little hotel in the centre of Santo Domingo. Very clean, the breakfast was basic, but decent. Its central location is unbeatable. Only the size of the room is a bit claustrophobic, but it is good for a night. No windows as way, but the building is beautifil.
Very charming little hotel in the perfect location in Old Santo Domingo. The manager of Villa Colonial, Ramón, and the rest of the staff are just delightful and very competent.
The breakfast offered could compete with any five stars hotel.
Fantastic location one block from the centre of the Zona Colonial. Comfortable, friendly and clean. Great breakfast! I will stay at Casa Naemie every time I come back to Santo Domingo and recommend it to my colleagues.
Beautiful palace-like old building well kept in good shape, but not optimal for modern hotel facilities. Quality service from staff. Very good central location in Zona Colonial. Swimming pool right next to the lobby.
David and Elemis are very accommodating. We stayed on two separate occasions, the rooms are exceptionally clean. The location is perfect too in the heart of Zona Colonial. Highly recommend for a stay in Santo Domingo
This is my 4th time staying in this hotel! And I will always stay there anytime I’m in Santo Domingo the staff is friendly and helpful. It’s a quiet area safe and the roof top pool is amazing with the views
I loved everything about this hotel from the 2 room penthouse suite overlooking the ocean to the pool to the gymnasium. Muchas Gracias to the entire Catalonia Santo Domingo team.
I’ve stayed at almost every hotel in Santo Domingo and this is by far my best stay in that city. I would never consider staying anywhere else any longer. Simply amazing.
Great location.Small but well kept hotel close to everything in Colonial zone. Lovely breakfast and we also had lunch one day.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Good location, good wifi, AC even in winter (most hotels in Dominican Republic turn off the AC for the winter months even though it's still hot and humid.
