Nice place - not right in the centre but still it has a good position, We had a room at the front with a seating area and windows out on to the street. Slight trade off with street noise/Music from the shop opposite for the light and balcony but with the windows closed the noise was ok. Very helpful staff including Empanada the cat who was really in charge

My daughter and I loved it from the moment we entered! Friendly, bright atmosphere. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fabulous even though the choice wasn't huge, it was more than generous considering the price.
The room and bathroom were clean and the beds were very comfortable. We went there because my daughter discovered it over a year ago and loved it so much it was her third time staying there and won't be the last for either of us!

The hotel is located in an old historic building. After our fist night, we transferred to a quieter room, which was a complete suite and very large and comfortable. The staff very friendly and attentive, but spoke little English - thanks Google Translate. The breakfast room was pleasant, but the only choices were eggs with or without ham. Abundant coffee. The location was excellent, just one block from the main plaza and church.

Beautiful historic city. We were there for four days and could not find time for all the tours and attractions. I would suggest a tour with Cuenca Bestours. Very reasonably priced for a full day tour. They picked us up at the hotel in the morning and returned us at 5:00 after a wonderful day. If your physically able to hike take a $5 taxi ride to Amaru Biopark zoo. It took us about 3 1/2 hours to hike the grounds. The animals are mostly rescues and well cared for with large enclosures.
Our favorite restaurant was by far Capitan. If you are looking for a gourmet meal this is the place, wonderful atmosphere and exceptional food. Our hostess and waitress were lovely and so committed to our satisfaction. The chef even popped out to our table to ask if we enjoyed the meal. The food was so delicious. I ordered salmon, medium cooked which was perfect with a delicious sauce. My husband order the sea bass and the sauce was so flavorful.
It is quite cool at night in Cuenca so bring pants and a light jacket. It is a bit warmer during the day but not humid like other parts of Ecuador. My husband and I are thinking of purchasing a condo there for seasonal use, definitely will be returning to this beautiful city.

Cuenca is beautiful, with amazing squares and historic buildings and churches. It is also a city where people live so it has a wonderful safe air about it with amazing restaurants, bars and cafes.
We were going to stay in Quito, but it was quite derelict in areas, and we were constantly warned about our safety and not to stay out after dark...
So, we went to Cuenca and could not have been happier. I want to go back already!

We enjoyed the historic town of Cuenca.
We enjoyed the historic town of Cuenca. There are wonderful things to see just going down the street. There are markets, churches and shopping galore, Lots of wonderful sights to see. The rivers and parks are beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the Pumapungo museum. The Hotel Victoria is centrally located with a great staff (our second stay there.) The breakfast was fit for a king and queen. This is our third visit and next time we want to stay for at least two weeks or more. Taxis are great and inexpensive. We don't do public transportation, but it is easily available. Ask locals if you suffer from <soroche> (altitude sickness) and there are "scrips" for this. The people are warm and friendly. The Sheraton is out of town but near Turi and has a high-end restaurant. The Hotel Inca Real is quaint & historic with a wonderful restaurant, in the historic district. The Mansión Alcazar is nearby if you are on a bigger budget, and has a wonderful restaurant. The museum that is one or two doors down from the Hotel Victoria is beautiful, historic and has a great café as does the Museo del sombrero de paja toquilla (the <Panama> hat that really came from Ecuador) Don't miss the Dos Chorreras chocolate store and I believe they also have lodgings.

A great place to spend Easter week.
A great place to spend Easter week. There is a beautiful cathedral in the center of the city and many smaller inglesas close by. The city is located in a valley at an elevation of about 8,500 feet so it is pleasantly cool year round. Lots of Inca history here predating the Spanish by hundreds of years. The city center is very walkable but taxis and buses are plentiful and very inexpensive. There is also a Metro system.
The property is an historical building that is very charming, stylish with lots of character. It’s located on one of Cuenca’s prettiest street. It’s safe, and very conveniently located to attractions and dining via short walk. Our room (loft on upper floor) was simple — but tastefully furnished, very roomy and comfortable for a family of 4. Breakfast was always fantastic and healthy. Best of all were Joaquin and his wife, the hosts, and the staff. All of whom were the best in making us feel welcomed and well taken taken care of.
The hotel had a great location, very near the Cathedral in Cuenca. The hall and common area were beautifully decorated, it was really a pleasure to have breakfast there. The staff was kind and helpful. The place was extremely safe. There was a bell to ring in order to enter the property. The breakfast were delicious with fresh fruits and eggs in various forms.
Lovely hotel, wonderful management responding to all my needs and helping with all my requests. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and a cute property in a very good location. This isn't a high-end luxury hotel, but had all I needed and the value for the money is excellent. Thank you. I'd be happy to stay there again if I return to Cuenca.
The hotel is small but quite nice and organized; great value for money; the room was confortable with all we needed, very clean and tidy; staff service was great all the time; good breakfast; excellent location as it is close to Historic Centre and the Terminal Terrestre of Cuenca, everything at walking distance; WiFi was great and reliable.
The breakfast was exceptional, very delicious! The owner Franco also makes an excellent Cappuccino.
the Hostel is beautiful, especially the courtyard gardens. It is nice and quiet and the beds are super comfortable(very important to me). The hostel even won a price for best restoration of a historic building. We will definitely be back!
Hotel location was outstanding, in the historical center of Cuenca close to the cathedral, many shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel building is old, but transfered into a hotel with a very unique style we really liked. Rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. Hotel restaurant very small and cozy. The food was very delicious.
This is an excellent hotel for exploring Cuenca. The rooms are comfortable. The staff is helpful. There is easy parking. It is in walking distance to the center, but in a quiet area. The breakfast is good and is served in a cafe on the riverbank. There is an excellent Italian restaurant in an old mill next to the hotel.
Hotel Victoria is the perfect location in Cuenca. It is a beautifully restored colonial building with a lush garden in back and a blend of traditional and modern amenities. The friendly professional staff speaks good English and the restaurant is a Cuenca institution.
Great hostess and owner, Sonia, wonderful cleaning person, Erìca! High-end and comfortable seating in common areas. Best heated shower I've had in Cuenta. And of course, wow, the garden and protected patio are so pleasant. Nice breakfast too.
Excellent colonial hotel in central location very close to the sites of Cuenca. The Restaurant was very good for evening meals and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a spacious room on the 3rd floor with excellent Wifi.
Staff are great, free washing & coffee. Location is quite central. Really the best value for a hostel you'll find in Cuenca, their aim is to be the best & they're succeeding by far. Rooms are very comfortable and private.
Great boutique historic hotel. Perfect location for exploring Cuenca. just one block from the main plaza and tranvía. Wonderful antique decor, and amazing ambiance. Very friendly staff, and great courtyard restaurant.
probably the cheapest hostel in cuenca. good location. very social and easy to make friends. there were not many guests, just a ton of volunteers. has a cool outdoor space with a fire pit.
The hotel is located on a good location, just a couple of blocks from Parque Calderon. The staff did his best and was friendly. The interior is beautiful, has a colonial look to it.
