Tartu is the second biggest city in Estonia, it has lots of places to visit, like museums, science centre, shopping centres, theatre, there are lots of walking to do, there are great local transport links in Tartu, there are plenty of hotels,B&Bs, plus apartments to stay in, most of the big shopping centres are in the city centre, there is also a free bus that takes you to one of the biggest shopping centres in Estonia, just on the outside of Tartu, that shopping centre is very big, and takes about two hours to walk round, it has a lot of different store, restaurants, etc there.
The local buses are also great to use,buy a tartu bus card, tap and go, or, buy tickets at Tartu bus Station, there are local buses, and city buses, there are lots of them, make sure to get a map, as it is a little difficult to know where to go/get off, if you do not know the area.
By the river, across the foot bridge from the city centre behind the market, you will find a nice beach area for summer, it is lovely there, and sandy, plus changing areas for everyone.

Fell in love with Tartu!
Fell in love with Tartu! An absolutely amazing city with a wide range of museums and activities, cosy and variable dining places, perfect for strolling and cycling around... So much to discover! I will surely return!
Try out the city museums, observation tower, printing history museums, science center, spa center, public transportation is easy to use and takes you all around town with an ease. Yet, one can also rent city bikes to move around 😀

Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at.
Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at. With the river running right through it it has everything you can wish for. It is busy enough to get whatever you want, but also to feel almost alone enjoying the lights around the river lights during the evening.
Also a lot of nature in a short drive away.

A nice and compact city - so called "university" town.
A nice and compact city - so called "university" town. A lot of things going on and many pubs on every corner. Just don't travel to Narva after visiting this town. It will be like a slap in the face.
I got upgrade to suite which was really pleasant surprise. The hotel is located on the edge of old town and you can here some noises from the street (church bell, garbage trucks) but it wasn`t so bad. Breakfast was very good and selection was wide. SPA area I didn`t get a chance to visit.
Very nice experience in Tartu and would most certainly recommend and visit again.
Great location with nice view out to the park, plenty of space, large disabled bathroom with heated floor(lovely), easy to control heating in the room, large TV with some Estonian channels. Beds very comfortable.
The 24 hour reception is very convenient with seamless check-in. There is also a lot of history in this building, which stimulates imagination during your stay!
The hotel is built attached to the Lõunakeskus shopping mall, so that you can walk between the hotel and the mall without going outside. Everything is luxurious and clean inside the hotel. The price with the breakfast was just about right for us. Hotel Tartu was tiny bit cheaper and same level but we'd have had to drive there from LK and then find a parking.
Extremely good location in center, with private parking lot. Reasonably comfortable rooms. Have recently introduced contact-free check-in and check-out, with phone app for the room key, which is innovative for Estonia and rather comfortable to use. There is still friendly staff available at reception, you can contact in case of need.
Perfect location to participate in Tartu Rattaralli race. We could park our car in the hotel's parking lot during the race and use their facilities for clothing change later.
Rooms looked to be renovated since our last visit a year ago, everything was clean and nice
A traditional hotel situated in the main square of Tartu, opposite the Town Hall. The rooms are simple but have all one needs for a short stay. Wifi worked well. Breakfast is served in the restaurant of the hotel and it was absolutely great, with a very rich choice.
Super cute and cosy flat. Very modern and clean, fan on the ceiling (great cos it was hot!). Comfy sofa, reliable shower and best bed ! Good location, 10min from the center. The flat is in a typical Estonian house and the neighbors super considerate so no noise 😍
Just before we set off our stay was moved by Tartu Hotels from the Sophia to the Art Pallas. This was not so good for us as we wanted to be on the outskirts of town not in the centre. Parking was not so easy here.
The room was clean and of decent size.
Great location – we're just steps away from popular attractions, dining, and entertainment. Spacious and stylish and very cozy living space designed for relaxation and convenience – best in Tartu!
Our first stay at a hotel in Tartu, very satisfied, large superior room, great breakfast with a rich selection, both hot and cold. Special thanks for the extra pillow.
