This is a lovely hotel in a convenient central location with a magnificent view of the Nile. I stayed in a comfortable spacious room. The staff was always very helpful and friendly. I am especially grateful to the team at the Gym and the Spa. The Salt Therapy makes miracles I recommend to everyone. The hotel provides delicious breakfast with a lot of variety starting as early as 5:30. This is a perfect time as most of the guests start excursions very early.

Jewel Howard Carter Hotel, hotel in Luxor

Located in Luxor, Jewel Howard Carter Hotel “Howard Carter Guest House “offers luxury accommodations. It offers free Wi-Fi in public areas and Luxor Temple is 2.2 km away.

We loved the Jewel Howard Carter hotel. It was super clean, with new room forniture, sheets and buildings. Also, they changed the table clothes of the restaurant everyday. The food was good, but you need to like the Egyptian food. Two Belgian tourists did not like the "sandwich" bread because they expected the classic french baguette but actually they serve the the naan/pita bread. We like it so it did not bother us. The concierges were very nice, they upgraded our room for free because I contacted them the day before asking for a Nile view room. They did not have any problem with us booking directly a private boat or a car without passing through them. I really liked this professional way of working. This is how local economy flourishes. The biggest issue in Egypt is finding reasonable prices for services because EVERYBODY tries to do the middle men gaining money on behalf of poor drivers which receives practically nothing for their precious services. Also, they never asked for tips, that's why we left them the change when we payed the restaurant bill. To be even more professional I would suggest to put in the room a price list of car and boat tours with the direct contact of the drivers so the guests would not feel exploited. The location was amazing! Very fresh and quiet! The best place for bird watching if you walk south and reach the closest boath pier (50meters). I saw purple herons, hoopoes, and so on!

The temples and archaeological sites are amazing.

The temples and archaeological sites are amazing. But beware of many people in Luxor trying to get you on the horse and cart, boats, sell you stuff, and who follow you around trying to con you. Dont be duped into going to the "one day a week" market that is a bazaar/shop in a dirty back street. If you dont buy anything they will demand 1000EGP anyway. The souk (market) is ok, but the harassment to buy is too much. I felt very uncomfortable after 3 days and wanted to get out of there

Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history.

Luxor is a beautiful place with an immersive history. Karnak & Luxor temple and Avenue of Sphinxes on East Bank of Nile & Valley of Kings/Artists, Hatshepsut temple, Medinet Habu, Deir-el-madina on the west bank are the places we visited during our stay. We didn't eat out as it was Ramadan and we wanted to be discreet with food when travelling to the sites. We hired a guide through Aswan individual to drive and explain the significance behind the places we visited and hence, unsure as to how to travel otherwise. Having a car would be better, as the sites are spread across the city, but a cycle would do just fine. It is better to start early in Luxor as it tends to get hot as the day progresses. So, we did most of our trips from around 7 till 2 and rested in the afternoons. We really enjoyed our time in Luxor.

Luxor is indeed a wonderful city with captivating historical sites. However, tourists should exercise caution when dealing with the locals. Some may be overly persistent, following you and invading your privacy in their attempts to receive money, even if they haven't provided any service or assistance. It's essential to remain vigilant and assert boundaries to ensure a pleasant experience while exploring this remarkable destination.

We did the hot air balloon ride and it was AWESOME!!

We did the hot air balloon ride and it was AWESOME!! We had already done the tour of the different temples and those are also very interesting. The felucca ride, if you haven't done one is really relaxing and quiet. I would skip the Banana Island "zoo" unless you really want to pet a baby alligator or hold monkey. We used In-Drive to get taxis - especially useful from the airport, as the taxi drivers at the airport want to overcharge you 5 times the amount. We went to the mumification museum, which was small but still interesting. You only need about 30 minutes there.

Loved the hot air balloon ride (only take the sunrise trip), the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings (the Valley of the Queens is similar, less grand, and can be skipped if you have less time). I also took a day trip to Dendera and Abydos to see the temples. Was great to see some rural Egypt along the way and beautiful desert scenery. The Hathos Temple in Dendera was perhaps the best of temples I saw in Egypt and very much worth it!

Everything was good. The place was very nice clean and spacious. It's about 15 minutes outside the city, but the compound is situated right beside a nice market ( AL Rayah Market) and it has everything you would need to fix up a quick meal if need be. Our host was able to set us up on a hot air balloon ride and it was one of the most amazing experiences for our family here in Egypt. THANK YOU SO MUCH! We would encourage anyone to book the Sphinx Apartment for a nice little get away while in Luxor.

This lovely familyrun hotel is at the best possible location at Luxor west-bank. Close to everything you need as a traveller, but in a green and quiet setting in a traditional Egyptian village setting. The owners do everyting to make your stay enjoyable and always arrange for us to be picked up from the airport even if it is in the middle of the night. We just love the homy feeling of the place. The food is nice and the green courtyard and the swimmingpool were a real bonus for our stay.

We loved Luxor and we loved the Nefertiti hotel! The breakfast on the roof each morning was the perfect place to greet the day and watch the hot air balloons rise on the west side of the Nile. The location is perfect, directly across the street from the Luxor Temple. And the restaurant serves the most amazing Oum Ali we had in our entire time in Cairo. Also, the Magic Carpet Travel service is right in the lobby. They set us up with amazing tours throughout our entire time in Egypt.

The location of the hotel is the best thing! we loved being on the west bank of Luxor, far from the crowds of the city. The hotel itself is very nice and clean, and it has amazing views from the roof top! We arrived very early in the morning and they offered to prepare breakfast for us, which was a very nice detail. We could also make the laundry and they didn’t want to charge us extra money. It has been, probably, the best hotel in Egypt we’ve been. Unbeatable quality-price.

Everywhere you look, in the rooms, on the grounds, the common areas, there is perfection in choices and accomplishments. They are also hands on in running the boutique hotel and in assisting guests with fulfilling their visit goals. Staff is fabulous with excellent English skills. The apartment has fans, air-con, comfortable mattresses, and a terrace with a great view over the Nile. On top of the house there is roof which we could use to relax and chill.
