The location is perfect, it's quiet, has an amazing view of Kitchener's Island and the mountains of the West Bank, the people are wonderful, you get immersed in the real Nubia, the lady boss speaks English very well, she's very intelligent, knows a lot about all the diverse types of people that visit Elephantine Island. It's not a very large island but still there's a lot to see. You can spend a day visiting all the sites.

From the serenity of the place and its Nile view, to the fresh, delicious food they cook with love, Baba dool is a very unique place, just like the smiles of the ladies running it. Lovely homely place to stay in Aswan. We arrived to the airport quite late at night but they still picked us up and got us to the island with no issue. Rawia helped us throughout our stay to book tours and such, and she also cooked our breakfast and dinner, which we highly recommend. It is delicious, fresh, and authentic Nubian food. We took a little boat tour around the Nile with the help of Ahmed, who showed us around. All in all a great little spot! Things to keep in mind, only the stay is paid for. Have cash to pay for any extras, such as: breakfast, boat transport, etc.

Baba Dool is a quiet oasis on Elephantine Island. It is on the west side of the island, with views of Kitchener Island, Tombs of the Nobles, feluccas sailing by, and many birds (herons and pied kingfishers). Rawia is a lovely, kind, hard-working woman who will help you with whatever you need, whether it’s arranging a driver to take you to Abu Simbel or the Airport, or having one of her family members take you by boat to Kitchener Island. I spent 6 nights here, and I enjoyed getting to know Rawia and her family.
