Set against the backdrop of desert and mountains, Sharm el Sheikh is a year-round Red Sea diving and beach resort. Although based on an existing village, it is very much a purpose-built holiday town, with lots of international brands of hotel, restaurant and bar lining its sandy shores.
The oldest part surrounds the Old Market, a heady mix of shisha and spices, roughly in the middle of the Naama Bay and Um el Sid suburbs. The other Sharm districts of Shark’s Bay and Nabq Bay are along the coast by Sharm el Sheikh Airport.
The Red Sea offers some of the world’s best dive spots with rich underwater life on the deep reefs of the amazing Ras Mohammed National Park. Other watersports include windsurfing, kayaking or banana boating, and the Cleopark waterpark has flumes, pools and rapids.
Other things to do include shopping at Il Mercato mall and the many souvenir stalls, karting at Ghibli Raceway, or watching a show at the Arabian-styled Alf Leila Wa Leila. Outside town you can go horse or camel riding in the desert, and visit a Bedouin village or St Catherine’s Monastery in the Sinai peninsula hills.
The Sharm el Sheikh accommodation on Booking.com covers everything from 5-star holiday resorts to all-inclusive hotels with pools, and cheap apartments.

It was not the first time I chose this hotel, and I felt at home from the very first moment again - and would always go back to the Il Mercato any time possible. I specially like the architecture (Jugendstil), the spaciousness, the interior design with beautiful pictures of flowers/plants, the old lamps, the floors in marble, the high ceilings, the courtyard of the restaurant with real palm trees, etc. This hotel is just beautiful and well kept!
It is perfectly located, with Hadaba and Old Market very near and the possibility to walk around any time, do some shopping etc. You have a choice of beaches and can even walk down to Il Terrazzina or other beaches as well.

My visit to Sharm El-Sheikh was marred by experiences that made me, as a woman, feel uncomfortable and sometimes unsafe. There’s a noticeable push to exploit tourists, which goes beyond simple haggling to situations that feel more like scams. My unease peaked during a taxi ride when the driver made inappropriate advances, attempting to touch my legs, which was both alarming and a clear violation of personal boundaries. Despite Sharm El-Sheikh’s beautiful surroundings, such incidents can overshadow the joys of exploring this destination. For female travelers, it’s essential to stay vigilant and prioritize safety.

Lovely place but only accessible beaches were owned by hotels and limited to their guests. Can get pestered by touts outside hotel and taxis will try and rip you off. Nice places to eat outside hotel are Mon Rev just across the road from Amwaj and German Bakery 5 minute walk. Drinkies has alcohol at good prices. El Ezabee pharmacy has good range and at Egyptian prices. Sinai clinic very good for medical treatment and is just across the road from Amwaj.

I recently encountered some concerning situations during my travels, and I want to share my experiences to help you stay vigilant. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
Airport Scammers: At the airport, be cautious of individuals offering to assist with paperwork related to immigration. These scammers may approach you, promising to expedite the process by stamping the back side of your immigration paper. They’ll ask for a fee (around $20) for their services. Do not fall for this! You do not need their help. Stick to the official procedures.
Visa on Arrival: When arriving in a foreign country, check if they offer a visa on arrival. Most airports provide this service, and it’s straightforward. No additional assistance is required. Avoid unnecessary payments to strangers.
Immigration Check: Upon reaching immigration, be aware that the police may scrutinize your documents. Scammers and immigration officers might have connections. At somepoint, the officer make you to tip them. They even, asked about my wallet, asked to show it. It's hard to explain the situation.
Language Confusion: Some immigration officers intentionally mix local language with English to confuse travelers. The intension is to get some tips from international travellers. Stay alert and take your time to understand. If something seems off, politely ask for clarification.
Taxi Fare Negotiation: In the city, taxis can be expensive. A fair rate for a taxi ride should not exceed 400 Egyptian pounds. Be cautious of drivers who try to overcharge you. Additionally, some taxi drivers may offer to exchange dollars for Egyptian pounds varying from 45 to 60.
Tourist Traps: Finally, be aware of tourist traps. Research common scams in the area you’re visiting. Stay informed and protect yourself from unnecessary expenses or unsafe situations.

1. Great location - Quiet resort, but has entertainment if you wanted it. Only 15 mins walk to the main strip of restaurants and bars.
2. Rooms- generously sized, clean and well maintained. A good 5 star hotel.
3. Staff - polite and always happy to help us. Little extra touch’s to make sure me and my baby were happy, and that was really appreciated. Thank you so much.
4. Food - amazing, reasonable cost (as we just booked bed and breakfast) but had a few meals in the hotel and good portions.
Fantastic hotel made by the location and the brilliant staff. Our first trip here since 2010, when we came in its Hyatt branding 4 years consecutively. The club is well worth the additional fee, and we would not recommend all inclusive as there are too many restrictions. It is value for money anyway. Adam at the diving centre was the best coach, along with Tam, and Mahmoud, Belal, Ahmed, Joerge, and all the other team members were very friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home.
The best hotel if you don't like "all inclusive", but love the vibe of hotels for "students travellers from the world".
The location is very good from the sea perspective. 7 meters, and you can snorkel all day. 10 mins from a certified PADI diving centre - once you become tired of snorkel, you can start certification for diving :) (Please allocate at least 3-4 days for it).
For any other locations, you need to use a taxi, what is mitigated by the price of the hotel.
Everything was excellent. This was our first all inclusive holiday and it was better than we could’ve hoped for!
The facilities in the hotel were brilliant, the food was lovely and the location is outstanding. Above all the staff were the highlight of the hotel, everyone was really helpful and kind. Michael and Mohamed at the front desk were very helpful and Romany was the best cleaner we could’ve hoped for in our room. We would recommend 100%
many things to do, not to loud music . chilling. no one bothers about tips. good hot water, internet.
food - can find what is suitable for you.
staff is very friendly. can speak different languages.
we stayed in one more hotel in Sharm (which was 5 star), and we prefer this one.
also we checked Amphoras Beach, that one is too noise for us. we still prefer Amphoras blue
beautiful reef just next to hotel 😍
This hotel is exceptional. True 5 stars. Food is exceptional, in fact their food deserves Michelin stars! Beer is of highest quality too, you never feel bad in the morning. Staff is very well trained and have good manners. Guys at the beach bar are hard-working and very quick to serve fruit plates, beer, etc right to your sunbed. Overall: this is one of the best hotels in Egypt.
The location was perfect.Middle of sharm. You can go to Soho house 8km, naama bay 6-8km, farsha lounge 3 km and old sharm just 2 km from the hotel. There’s 2 pool to swim 2 meter and 1.20. Breakfast was good, enough. The staff was perfect especially Mahmoud (he’s in reception) and 2.mahmoud ( he’s in breakfast area). They were helpful and very friendly.Special thanks to them. 🙏
Same breakfast everyday,slow refill
My birthday was at my check in date and they ignored me even i sent a message for booking to mention this point and i remind the hotel reception guy
No deep cleaning
The toilet rush pin was very old not suitable to be in 5 stars hotel!!
We got a skin rash because of the dirty swimming pool water
A low-key, boutique hotel with staff - Karim, Shaker, Amr, Nasser and everyone else - who are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, the shower was great, the WiFi was reliable, and the view of Naama Bay was stunning. The food was always good quality and well prepared. Thank you for a wonderful stay..
This is actually a complex of two hotel with lots of pools water slides bars restaurants and shops. So you have everything you want nearby. Everything is clean and well maintained and there are a lot of activities especially if you travel with kids. The all inclusive system is around the clock and is quite varied.
Very nice hotel with nice environment and very lovely people. We had all inclusive option so everything was included, delicious food and a lot of various drinks all day. Beautiful swimming pool and nice evening events. Ahmed khalaf from reception was very helpful and lovely person.
Everything was perfect we have high expectations because we travel a lot but turquoise hotel was very good for location nice stay big doble room clean nice swimming pool nice reception nice breakfast nice staff private beach ⛱️ was better stay than 5 Stars hotel jazz fanara
Everything is great stuff, food, facilities, and hospitality. I went to several 5 stars hotels in sharm and this one is the best of them I will be a loyal customer to it. I would like to thank reception staff MR Magdy really help full for the nice welcoming
Great value for money! Amazing small water park for the young and teen. Good and decent rooms, very clean. All inclusive food deal that doesn't lead to more expenses.
Shuttles to the beach, naama bay and Soho are available.
- Most of the staff are friendly
- Food was not too bad, sometimes better than 5 start hotels in terms of taste.
- Bus takes you to downtown, beach and other places for free.
the hotel was nice ,food is good ,location so nice ,near Naama bay,i was happy to enjoy this hotel .Specially thanks for Daria,Natali and Mohamed in the lobby bar.
