To tell you the truth I came here a year ago and I pretty much never gone back. I keep coming back. The cost of living in Egypt is so much better than America. and the food is a million times better. the people are real they just want to be happy . And they're never is a problem really it's just a different type of life and they're happy to share that with you and that's something I want more of for myself and them. Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.

The philae Temple is great it has spots to take photos and great views.
We enjoyed the Botonical Garden very much as it has plants from all over the world.
The feluca ride is one of the best things we enjoyed but first you have to agree on the price.

Tombs of the Nobles were really neat if you can make it over to the other bank. Watch out for the camel guys there though. We got roped into $50 camel rides.
Aswan was probably our least favorite stop in Egypt. Harassment by salespeople was higher here than at the Great Pyramids, and much higher than Luxor! We couldn't walk anywhere at anytime of the day without a salesperson walking with us for several blocks. And as soon as they were done, someone else would take over. Its too bad, I think the corniche could be a really pretty walk!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
I didn’t realize that the hotel was undergoing a little construction. It looked like they were upgrading their ramp. This meant we had to carry our bags up the stairs to the lobby.
The property is beautiful and has a terrific view of the town and we could see the Nile from our room. The restaurant was very good- we had dinner there.
BTW the construction noise never bothered us. We couldn’t hear it at all.
Everything! The location, the lovely exterior and interior design with so much attention to detail, the crazily welcoming and supportive staff was just out of this world - also compared to all the other places we stayed at in Egypt, including five star hotels. We especially loved the many peaceful outdoor gathering places to relax, chill out, read, talk or have a tea :). Everything was super clean, and the breakfast with a view was a selection of the finest local food. Hatem in particular made a huge effort to make us feel like at home.
For sure the best thing was the owner. Mahmoud, is the best owner of any place I’ve ever stayed, and I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and guest houses. Mahmoud saved me hundreds of dollars to get me on a cruise to Aswan, and continually helped me with everything. Just trust him, and you won’t regret it.
The location of the hotel on Elephantine island was 50 metres from the ferry dock. it only costs 5 Egyptian pounds, 16 cents US, for the little ferry.
Nuba Dool was quiet, clean, has a great view. Everything was fabulous.
This was one of our favourite hotels we stayed in while in Egypt. The staff are the real star of this hotel and go out of their way to assist with anything you might need. Our room was spacious with a large balcony overlooking the Nile. The food at the hotel was absolutely delicious. There’s a lovely pool area where you can also chill out with a book and a beer as I did! The hotel is close to the Nubian museum and a short walk from the river front in Aswan so you have the best of every world.
Artika Wadi Kiki is one of the best and most authentic hotels I've ever been to!
I would definitely recommend it to everyone coming to Aswan. The staff is nice and polite, the dinner we had was great, but above all, the ambient and the details of this place are amazing.
The hotel staff upgraded us from a regular room to a chalet which left us amazed. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the staff helps you with your luggage.
Again, all praise for this wonderful place!
The staff is incredible! Every request is fulfilled with a smile and genuine warmth. Everyone was most helpful! Granted an early check-in as we had just completed a Nile River cruise and a Nile view upgrade. Breakfast was wonderful, with many choices from the buffet and an Omelette/egg station. Lunch was very good as well,
with grilled dishes actually grilled on an outdoor charcoal grill. A truly grand hotel from the past. Beautiful stonework throughout.
The walkway from the street and the incredible view of the Nile when you first walk in, it’s magic. The afternoon/night Manager was most helpful with my booking faux pas. He also arranged a take away breakfast bag for my partner to be picked up at 4am when I told him we were going to Abu Simbel early in the morning. Had full load of washing done at the hotel for around $30AUD. From pick up to drop off was good. All staff at this hotel honestly made our trip.
It felt like home. Staff is so friendly. The chef of the restaurant is the best of the whole Egypt ✨✨
View is amazing
Rooms are clean. Bathroom too. Bed is confortable.
It was from far our best hotel in Egypt. Value for money is incredible when you experienced the other standards. They helped us booking our bus to Hurghada Really thank you to all of the staff.
Also it's a great place to meet other backpackers and exchange tips for Egypt.
Set in a quiet Nubian village on the West Bank of Aswan you feel a world away from the busyness of so much of Egyptian cities. We spent so much time just sitting on the river bank with local kids, animals and watching the boats sail past. The staff were fantastic, catering to food and trip requests with slow easy pace, making sure we were comfortable. Currently undergoing renovations but will be our place to stop next time we visit Aswan.
We spent 5 nights at the end of Nov 2023. We totally enjoyed our stay. Nice views from the roof top terrace while enjoying Ezra’s good breakfast, really clean room and right beside the Island best restaurant (the King Jamaica). The hotel is right beside the public ferry (10 EGP/ one way) which brings you right in the action of Aswan with the quietness of staying on the island.
The houseboat is nestled in a beautiful place on the quieter side of Elephantine island. It is very well maintained and has all the modern amenities one expects to find in a hotel. The houseboat staff are all Aswan locals and very polite and well mannered. Adding to these, the excellent views from the houseboat rooms and upper decks help to make the stay an amazing experience.
Best stay in our two weeks in Egypt!
The person is very honest and he doesn't insist on anything. We even forget a jacket in a taxi from Aswan to Luxor and he managed everything to send it to our hotel in Luxor for FREE which is not so common in Egypt!
It s a tradionnal house, very peaceful, breakfeast is delicious. If you are looking for a real experience you go for it!
Staff especially Reko is very friend and help with everything such as your or text booking but there’s always room for negotiation. The best thing about the guest house is the view, I see Nile from my window. it’s located in elephantine island which means you will need to prepare 5 Egyptian pounds each time for ferry but it runs every 3-5 min so it’s not an issue.
We were looking for budget hotel near Aswan and we stumbled upon this hotel
Very neat and clean hotel
Great view of Nile river
We checked in bit late and early check out
Reception was good and they provided us feee upgrade .
Thanks
Overall great location
They provided breakfast box for early morning Abu simbl trip
The view is breathtaking! Most hotels are located in Aswan’s main avenue and you won’t get a chance to see how beautiful the city’s scenery really is. Also, the staff Kamel and Hares were 5 starts. They helped us with everything, we even got a boat trip with Hares. Don’t miss the chance to stay at this hotel!
The hotel is located in the Elephantine Island. Just a 5 min walk from the public ferry. There is a separate private ferry stand just in front of it. It is a new hotel with excellent facilities. AC was working perfectly. Beds were comfortable. Mohammed helped us a lot in booking tours for us
The hotel is one of my favorite places on earth.. luxury, historic, beautiful restaurants, (more on that in a minute) ,gorgeous rooms heavenly pool. And the VIEW! Spectacular.. this was our 2nd time at the old cataract. And it is the most beautiful and best hotel in egypt.
The absolute best hotel Ive seen in Egypt. Amazing people, beautiful view, good price and the best food I ate.
I was so surprised. If you are in Aswan - you have to stay in this place.
We loved Aswan and the Basma hotel. The view from the balcony was amazing! The hotel’s staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!
Best place I habe been to in Egypt.
This is more than just an accomondation. Just go there and See.
The nubian village is so peacful insted the rest of Aswan.
Very big room with nice view over Aswan and the Nile river.
The staff was really nice compared to other hotels we stayed at in Egypt.
Breakfast was OK.
