Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit.
Salamanca is a lovely city and definitely worth a visit. We stayed 3 night and were able to see everything we wanted without rushing.
It is a walkable city. We came by train and left by bus. We used the local bus only once, and that was to get to our apartment.
We were there during Easter weekend, so reservations are important. Great restaurants and food.

If you want to really know Spain: Visit Salamanca. I think it is underrated for what it is. Every corner of the city will surprise you with its rich cultural heritage. Brilliantly lit at night, it is perfect for late night tours. The city is safe, people are friendly, food is simply excellent! Didnt get enough out of my visit, will go again!

Salamanca has a very important role in the history of medieval philosophy, being one of the oldest continuously matriculated schools in the world, where Jesuits and Dominican friars debated about the universe and the rights of men, where Cervantes studied, and where inquisitors were honed. Well, a good background reading is a must rather than simply becoming a passive guest of this ancient city (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salamanca).

One of our favourite cities in Spain - magnificent historic centre with a fantastic cathedral and jaw dropping Plaza Mayor. The university student population give the city a buzzy feel and the wide choice of bars and restaurants are generally excellent.

Salamanca is a beautiful city for urban tourism.
Salamanca is a beautiful city for urban tourism. It has the right size to walk around, forgetting about cars and walking without getting too tired. The historical visits to monuments are numberless and the gastronomy very good. There are vegetarians options in many restaurants and several restaurantes with vegetarian tapas at very cheap prices.
Had my share of 5 star hotels in the past, but Hotel Rector was off the chart.
We felt really special and welcome during our entire stay. The comfort of the bed, the room were exceptional, the friendliness of the staff, ensuring everything (and I mean everything) was perfect... Really loved the experience and will be back whenever I visit Salamanca again!
As a bonus, the parking place was great, really convenient with a charging cable to our car :)
Javi, Eva and the whole staff are wonderful. Exceptional location in the heart of Salamanca. Our apartment was secure, clean, spacious enough for us to be very comfortable and quiet at all hours. The coffee pods and courtesy bottle of red wine are lovely touches. We fully enjoyed this visit and look forward to our next stays in Salamanca in this fantastic accommodation.
There was no receptionist but the staff were so friendly and flexible with our breakfast arrangements it was a pleasure to be there. The hotel is full of charm and very quirky, also as a wheelchair user it had one of the best disabled showers ever and was beautifully designed. Salamanca is a n nightmare for parking but there was a disabled space just around the corner.
We found the hotel clean and most of all super conveniently located close to the Salamanca railway station. The hotel staff were kind to accommodate our bicycles in the underground garage and gave us access to them whenever required. Even though the facilities are rather modest, the staff are exceptionally helpful. Highly recommend for short stays.
This is our second time to stay at this hotel. It was excellent value for money. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. Very friendly and efficient staff. Buffet style breakfast was excellent and again great value. There is parking in front of the hotel. It’s about a twenty minute walk into beautiful Salamanca town. We’ll definitely go back again.
This stylish and freshly updated hotel is located in the center of town. We absolutely loved Salamanca and this hotel. We had breakfast in the breakfast room, it was perfect. There is a restaurant just outside the front door and many other, this one overlooks a beautiful park. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the park.
Location was good for walks in the park with your dog, and just a ten minutes walk to the old centre of Salamanca which is not to be missed, room was clean and tidy with a view of the park,
We didn't eat or drink in the hotel but that all looked good,
Booking in and staff were very good, all in all an enjoyable stay
Excellent Hotel, very nice, clean and in a super location. The staff is super friendly and the make you feel at home. The hotel is very well maintained and clean. The size of the room is perfect for 4 people when compared to the standard rooms in Europe and Spain. Thank you for your hospitality.
The hotel is located a short walk from all the main sites in Salamanca and is easy to access by car. They have on site parking using a car elevator which was very convenient if you have a small car. Room was a good size, comfortable bed and wonderful shower.
Good value for money if you are only looking for a stop over motor inn. If you don't drive, it is about 4km walk to the center of the city. Food is reasonably priced. Car park is free (hard to find such a deal in Spain) right in front of the hotel.
An excellent value for money. Perfect location, right next to Plaza Mayor. The room was nice and cozy, and the bed comfortable. The staff was really nice as well, and you can enjoy in the restaurant typical food from Spain and Salamanca.
Everything was great! After a 3 week trip through portugal and Spain, this was our favorite. Great value, beautiful buffet breakfast, front desk staff helped tremendously, get the view room! On site parking.
Close to the bus station and right by a grocery store. The room has a small fridge and safe. The shower. was nice & hot. Good value compared to other places we have stayed in Spain.
Great location! Salamanca is a great place and this hotel is right in the middle of the great part of the city. We got great restaurant recommendations from the front desk too.
The best bed we ever had ! Large !
Great hotel in the city of Salamanca. Good breakfast but in basement, I would suggest to eat breakfast outside in the city.
