Embraced by the sandy Costa Blanca beaches and caressed by the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Alicante has a rich heritage built over thousands of years. Alacant (as it's known in Valencian) has a deep history ranging from the first tribes that arrived at the slopes of Mount Benacantil to Greeks, Romans and Moors. Nowadays, this modern city boasts a bustling harbour, great Spanish nightlife, charming old streets and modern beach resorts.
Overlooking the city from the top of Mount Benacantil, the Castle of Santa Barbara was built in the 9th century during Islamic rule. Cascading down the slopes towards the city centre, L'Ereta Park has terraced levels that offer stunning panoramic views of the city. The remains of the ancient Roman town of Lucentum are also just a few kilometres away.
Barrio de la Santa Cruz is the historic quarter, featuring narrow streets, old houses and cobbled steps. Framed by palm trees and covered with a snaking pattern of white, red and blue tiles, the Explanada de Espana is considered one of Spain’s most beautiful promenades.
After arriving at Alicante Airport, indulge yourself in a resort near San Juan beach, or enjoy the view of luxurious yachts moored at the marina from a cosy B&B: Booking.com has the perfect spot for you to discover the magic of Alicante!

Initially I found it hard to navigate my way around the city as it is vast, with SO many little side streets, avenues & larger shopping areas. I didn't have mobile data so had no access to maps or translation apps unless I was back at my hotel (using the free wifi) so in future I wouldn't be so stubborn by refusing to pay the data roaming fees :) It would have made my life so much easier. That said, by getting lost & exploring, I discovered streets & places that I probably wouldn't have otherwise so it just added to the adventure! Weather: 10/10. Scenery: 10/10. Once I got my bearings I was able to really enjoy myself & would definitely go back again!

Lovely weather durng the Easter break, generally very warm to moderately hot, and cooler in the shade or when there was some wind. The area was a good size to explore on foot with convenient access to neighbouring places like El Campello by tram. The food was great, we ate out at various restaurants throughout our stay, mainly favouring paella, tapas and Japanese food (ramen and sushi). Took our kids and they had a good time exploring and spending some time on the beach. Also managed a couple of days in the hotel pool which was lukewarm but bearable for short swims (about 30-45 mins).

C6 bus from airport goes straight to marina & beach for just under €4. Large sandy beach with reasonably priced & comfortable loungers. Nice market by the marina & a casino (need to take passport). The old town has lovely little streets packed with bars & restaurants. Lovely long promenade lined with bars & restaurants and plenty to entertain the kids. Variety of shops in both old & new town.

Alicante can best be described as a smaller version of...
Alicante can best be described as a smaller version of Barcelona but still with everything that a larger city can offer, great restaurants, bars, beach, shopping and easy tram access to Benidorm for those wanting something different.
An exciting adventure of a hotel with world's best receptionists and management who did their best to fulfill every need or request i had during my 4 days stay.
It really felt like home to be there - soundproof rooms, extravagant interior design, amazing smell and quality of body care products and the hotell itself, and not to mention its amazing location in the heart of everything - Postiguet beach, Old city, restaurants, etc.
Will absolutely come back there should i travel to Alicante once more. :)
The apartment was very clean and very quiet, and compact. The best thing was waking up next to a big window with a huge view of the sea and the sunrise streaming in, with a coffee from the machine. It is a quiet area with a nice beach nearby. Not many restaurants, but only a 6 minute tram ride to the bustle of the Alicante sea front. So it was the perfect formula, out in the city for drinks and food, then home to tranquility and a good sleep, followed by a glorious way to wake up the next morning.
This hotel met my needs perfectly. A one night stay in an area of Alicante I knew, close to the airport bus stop for an early morning flight and at a reasonable cost. Only a small single room but very clean and with a small balcony and bathroom. The desk reception is manned 24hrs so perfect for a late night flight arrival and the receptionists (both evening and morning) very friendly and spoke good English. There is a cafe bar attached for breakfast but I didn`t use so cannot comment.
Hotel is located outside the city centre - 50 min walk - but has no. 23 bus service immediately outside which makes travel to/from the city very convenient. It is also a 20 min walk or 6-7 min bus ride to the nearest tram station and 20 min walk to Albuferta beach. Lovely informed staff. Very clean and rooms serviced daily. Pool and sun bathing area are good. Did not use restaurant but looked busy with good breakfast and dinner buffets.
Great breakfast, many options. I wished there were more plant based protein options, such as beans. There was beans one day out of ten, I ate alot! Speaking of which, i really like the variety in the breakfast buffet. They switch it up.
The location of the hotel in perfect in Alicante, close to the beach, and close to trams and buses that take you downtown. I prefer good air quality, so living in the city centre isnt for me.
Location perfect... and the staff were very attentive and helpful. The hotel overall is amazing and my partner and I loved it. The Christmas/New Year period we spent at Melia Alicante was made extra special by your hotel. The restaurants, bars and service provided certainly warrant its four star rating. We can't thank you enough... and we had ring-side seats from our balcony for the 1st of January fireworks!!!
The location was the best. Shops, restaurants, lokal cafee just outside the door that serves really good tapas, 10 minutes walk to the beach, buses just round the corner to take you everywhere….. a small but very friendly and cozy hotel, no wild luxury but it has everything you need for a nice stay in this beautiful city. But don’t be afraid to climb the stairs 🤪 not for people with disabilities.
Room in terms of bed, view, bathroom was okay. Went with another couple on a city trip. After a day of walking and site seeing wanted to take a good shower. After 2 or 3 minutes water went from hot to cold. This hapened twice. Mentioned this to reception but no improvement. This needs to be fixed in order to get a good experience in your hotel.
Extremelly clean and tidy place. Very cozy and stylish with comfortable bed. Lovely continential breakfast and the best coffee in town offered by the owner. The hotel is in a very good location with walking distance to the old town, castle, railway station and the buss to airport just around the corner. Highly recomended if travelling in area.
A great little hotel for a couple days in the city, and it hits all 5 C's. - Comfortable bed, Clean room/bedding/bathroom/public areas, Calm and quiet inside and on street outside, Convenient location right in the centre but near the marina, bus station, shops/bars and Cheap!!
Staff very friendly, efficient, helpful.
I had to book another hotel due to confusion about check-in, but I really do appreciate the owner of this hostel understanding the situation and refunding me and communicating with booking.com. I've stayed before about a year ago and it was fine a good hotel to stay close to the center of Alicante.
Everything. The apartment was new, good size, nice bed, great shower, with all the amenities we needed. The staff is wonderful. The location is great, close to all the attractions in Alicante, close to the Postiguet beach, in the city center with an area full of good restaurants.
Wow!
Excellent place to stay, close to the city centre, beach, supermarket and restaurants.
Stated in many places in Alicante and this is the best so far. It has everything you need and more. We stayed in the penthouse room. It
was big, spacious and clean.
The room was excellent, clean and cozy. We also liked the bathroom and amenities. TV was working well, it even had at least one english channel, which I found to be quite rare in Spain. Breakfast was reasonably diverse for the small kitchen area it had.
Lovely hotel, nice spacious rooms with large balcony. Friendly staff and very pet friendly. We appreciated the little gift for our pet puppy! And most of all, we could take our dog to breakfast in the designated area for animals. Excellent!
In my opiniom the best location among all the hotels in Ali - near airport bus, near tram, near beach, near the city center by walk, near the castle ! Nice breakfast and a very helpful and kind staff ! All good !
This hotel was so centrally located, it was unbelievable. Close to everything. Extremely clean. Really friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Alicante. 10 / 10
A 3 star hotel with 5 star service, rooms super comfortable with balcony, nice breakfast included, wi-fi very good in all the hotel, good size pool, near everything in this area of Alicante.
Excellent staff and impeccable hotel. Probably the best hotel bed I have had the pleasure of sleeping in. Location is also excellent, 5 minute walk from the beach. Definitely staying again!
Lovely hotel. Right in the centre of Alicante. Good breakfast and lovely rooftop area. Staff friendly and rooms very clean. Definitely would stay again.
