A wonderful city to visit, which offers everything you’d ever desired to do, from cultural to sports activities, and the food is absolutely amazing. I would recommend “Cork” for a 360 degrees deep dive into the local food and wine or beer, worth at least one visit. Another place called “Mugi” had the best Secreto Iberico and Presa Iberica. Bilbao is easy to get around.
Bilbao is easy to get around. We used the metro and the tram quite a lot. The Barik card makes public transport much cheaper and it’s really easy to use. Lots of churches, bars, cafes and restaurants. The people are really friendly and I managed to get by with my very limited Spanish! We loved Bilbao and I think 3 or 4 days would keep you busy. We liked the Guggenheim as it’s a bit different. The fine arts museum (free) is worth seeing as well. The highlight for us was the Vizcaya bridge which was amazing, I’ve never seen anything like it! Walk across the top and get the gondola back. Plaza Nueva had lots of bars and restaurants with great food but it does get really busy. We loved Bilbao.
We loved Bilbao. It has many places to visit, it is completely walkable, however, if one prefers, it has so many means of transportation for all tastes and standards. Good food, many parks, great for families.

Stayed in the Old Town. Great bars and restaurants. Great for people watching and I felt very safe. I was a female lone traveller aged 64! Did a lot of walking and the place had a real Buzz about it. Visited the Guggenheim. Fantastic to see and I did go in, felt I had to having travelled all that way, Waste of time that was. I'm obviously a complete philistine because if that's art I'm a monkey's granny! Went on the funicular railway (did that in San Sebastian too). I would go back to Bilbao and liked it better than San Sebastian but I loved that too.AAnonymous

My room is on the 6th floor (top level). Although it's not huge, it benefits from having access to a small roof terrace (a bonus). The bed is firm ( a rare find in hotels). The central atrium spaces (with a glass ceiling) is a nice place to meet friends. Breakfast is buffet style, with many options (eggs, meat and fruits) to choose from.
