I have stayed here three times and will always choose to stay here when I come to Santiago . Great location, close to the cathedral etc but far enough away to be quiet and away from the touristic throng. Nice bars in the area , comfortable room and bed.

The hostel is a short walk from the Cathedral and La Alameda Park, with its pleasant walking paths, thousand year old trees and botanical gardens. The famous Paseo de la Herradura offers beautiful views of the University campus and the old part of the city. There is a selection of restaurants, bars and shops in the streets surrounding the San Clemente. There is a car park opposite the hotel, for an additional charge.
Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.7 for a two-person trip.
