Scratch beneath the small-town surface of Helsinki and you will find a cosmopolitan metropolis buzzing with a lively attitude and plenty of excitement. The relatively short-lived summer offers the best chance to appreciate the outdoors and sit on one of the popular café terraces, or even hit the Hietaniemi Beach, all of which can be enjoyed during the 20 hours of daylight.
Strolling around the streets of Helsinki will reveal an Empire-style of architecture, comparable to St. Petersburg. The greatest example of this is the green-domed Lutheran Cathedral which rises proudly out of the center of Senate Square.
From here the main shopping street of Aleksanterinkatu, affectionately known as Aleksi, runs towards Mannerheimintie and contains the largest department store in Scandanavia, called Stockmann. The up-market boulevard of Esplanadi runs alongside and is packed with exclusive boutiques.
Lovers of Nordic design will be thrilled by the Design Museum and the Ateneum Art Museum. Nature is in abundance on the beautiful archipelago which lies along the coast. A must-see is the Baltic fortress of Suomenlinna, where you just might forget you’re in a big city.

Helsinki is a fantastic city that hides well its treasures.
Helsinki is a fantastic city that hides well its treasures. Take time to discover it, as well as the surroundings, its subculture, its great specialty and slow food cafes and restaurants, its nature and museums. That does not show immediately but once you start digging, you are up for an exceptional experience

The city is nice, laid-back and full of really nice people.
The city is nice, laid-back and full of really nice people. But we faced an unfortunate incident where my wife's purse got picked at Senate Square and the entire cash was gone. I later heard that this is common across Helsinki. One should be extremely careful about personal belongings.

The reason I arrived was a live concert i promised myself to go. The weather was not perfect but it wasn’t bad neither. It’s obvious it’s cold in January in Helsinki.
There are many nice places to eat. Check the port area for some nice bites.

It's a great little city in the Northern Europe. If you expect something magical, than probably better to avoid it. It's freezing cold (-25C is normal in January) so dress properly. To maximize the utility of winter stay, probably try to catch snow. Then Helsinki is magical.

Firstly my only criticism of the hotel was that at breakfast when I went at 9am the hot food was always dry like it had been out on the buffet for a long time rather the replenishing it regularly.
The hotel staff were great, very polite and very helpful
Helsinki was very interesting I wish I had booked a couple of extra days

Cool Scandi design and architecture.
Cool Scandi design and architecture. Beautiful city in winter with lots of open spaces and parks to explore. Museums and installations galore. Immense shopping opportunities. Good food options. Public transport is clean and plentiful. I’d plan to spend at least 4 days if I were a design and culture enthusiast
Average clean and amazingly located hotel in the city center of Helsinki. It takes not more than 10 minutes on foot to come from central train station. Staff was helpful, wi-fi worked fine, free coffee and tea in the reception (when it was open - trust me, not always open, even during a daytime). Free shampoo and shower gel bottles in the bathroom, TV inside the room with international channels, also there is an elevator to reach 5th or 6th floor where all rooms are located. Free storage rooms with a lockers for hotels guests.
The Apartment is indeed very well connected with the public Transport System. With a few steps you can get to the Tram and Bus lines, but we didn't notice any traffic noise in the night. Even the metro is in comfortable walking Distance.
On top of that there are many great Restaurants in the area wich are much cheaper that the ones in the City Center!
Also the public Saunas in the area are much cozyer and more authentic than the ones in the City Center.
The owner is very friendly and flexible, kind regards and many thanks!
We came here for a conference and were very pleased with the hotel. The room was large and very clean. The breakfast was especially grand and we were able to try different things each day. The location is great for being in the city center and the people were extremely helpful at the front desk, especially as I needed to see a doctor and they were able to get me information on where to go and helped me get there.
This property is a bit hard to rate for me. I need to review it as a hostel but it's the first hostel I stayed at. I think the breakfast area looks nice, and has a nice ambient music, the sauna is nicer than some hotels I stayed at, and the location is really nice. The view from the room was lovely, and the surroundings are modern and offer a great walk opportunity. It's also easy to walk to the city center.
Exceptional hotel, clean, comfortable, nice atmosphere, extra kind receptionists, big rooms with a/c and everything you need for comfortable life.
Location - 7-8 min walk to the city centre.
They have refrigerator and microwave oven in the lobby in case you need.
Best value for the price. No need to overpay for the Hiltons, Marriots etc. when you have such noname hotels even better quality
The room is perfect for a couple, clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was big and very comfortable.
AC was amazing too. I did not mind not having windows in the room at all.
Also, the location is perfect, right in the city center so it's super easy to get around!
And the hotel is very nice, clean and friendly staff. I would recommend.
The staff was very friendly and always ready to help. He also responses pretty fast. He is also very considerate as well. Very clean and spacious. Quiet neighborhood and modern building. It is 25 minutes drive from the city center and the airport but it is a great place.
You are all not invited to come enjoy this facility.😄
The location of the hotel was amazing, everything is close by. The staff helped with all my questions and requests. They provided me with a free cab ride from the airport to the hotel, which was great! A nice variety for breakfast, and you could take to go hot tea/coffee in a cup.
I was booking this hotel for my parents. In the past I stayed there few times and I had an amazing experience, as it's located in the city center, many restaurants and shops are nearby. Friendly staff, overall everything nice. Breakfast was also pretty nice.
This is a good hotel in the city center for its money. It's not fancy, quite old, but it's clean and comfortable. The rooms are not large but cozy. The bathroom was clean. Breakfast is good. And the location is excellent. Great value for its price.
The hotel is in a short tram distance from the city center. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was on the small size, but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. The breakfast table was great, exact amount to choose from.
The proximity to down town and railway station. Parking underneath the hotel with 36€per day is not cheap but considered to the other choices outside the hotel it's good. Personnel are very polite and willing to help.
Even it is the cheapest place I found in Helsinki, its very cozy and...silent, especially after 11 P.M. Also it's not so far from Tram Stop, so you can easily get to The City Center or Central Railway Station.
This is simply the best and most luxurious hotel in Finland.
Perfect location in the absolute city center of Helsinki.
Relatively good value for money due to low bookings and corona situation August 2021.
The staff was very polite and helpful, the facilities were new, modern and very clean, the hotel location was very close to the city center, the wifi was more than adequate. Overall very comfortable stay!
I like the hotel very much. lt is located at the city center and close to main attractions. Breakfast was yummy. If I were to go back to Helsinki, I would come back to the hotel to stay.
Clean, very comfortable, spacious, exceptional excellent service, comfortable bed and room. Really wish we would have stayed here instead of the other city center hotel.
Small but practically furnished accommodation in the city center. Shops and entertainment venues are a few minutes' walk away. It was very cheap, clean and comfortable.
