The chalet was nicely located on walking distance from Ruka village. The level of equipment was good, I found everything I needed in the chalet. The key box with code was a good way to check in, gave a lot of freedom for traveling when there was no need to provide an exact arrival time. The box was also very handy for storing the keys while out on activities. No risk of accidentally losing the chalet keys. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well. The car could be parked right in front of the chalet, which was very handy when unloading and loading luggage. Free wifi was a plus. The chalet had a cosy feel, and I felt at home.

We are two brothers who are maintaining Ankka-cottage and who have offered accommodation at Ruka for almost 20 years. We are living in a different locality. That's why our caretaker is responsible for holiday homes and customer service at Ruka. The caretaker is reachable by phone. We hope that our customers will be happy and will spend a successful and memorable holiday at Ruka. ,

Property information

Ankka-cottage is a mountain cottage that offers Lappish atmosphere. Ankka-cottage is equipped with up to six people. The loft has four mattresses on the floor and the master bedroom has a double bed and youth bed. The living room couch can be spread out into a double bed. In the summer Ankka-cottage rent includes access to two rowing boat, which are 3 to 5 km away from Ankka-cottage by the lake. In the cottage there is a folder, where is some maps of hiking trails and the location of the boats. The apartment is equipped with a children's high chair and travel bed. You can park your car in front of the Ankkas' front door. For winter time, hold a flashlight and an extension cord for the car's block heater.

Neighbourhood information

Ruka is very famous for its ski resorts, which hosts an annual cross-country skiing and ski jumping international competitions. Ruka is close to Oukanga unique national park, which is known for its water system, ancient forests, bogs, and ridges. The National Park across the flowing rivers offer fishing, canoeing and rafting on the ferry. Near Ruka there are a lot of lakes, which provide anglers on trout, whitefish, perch, pike. You should also take into account Kuusinki River, where they have been arranged a competition for fly fishing world championship. Oulanka National Park is internationally famous for hiking trails
