The capital of Fiji has old colonial buildings which remain in use. The city is safe although the locals warn about pick pockets. The police made regular patrols. The harbour is beautiful while Thurston Park is full of tropical plants.Fijian cusine is not exciting. although there are plenty of curries of interest. Taxis are pleantiful and cheap. B uses require a stored value card.

The people of Suva are lovely, warm and welcoming.
The people of Suva are lovely, warm and welcoming. However there are not a lot of things to do in Suva and the harbour is not clean enough to swim in. The traffic congestion is surprisingly bad. We walked a lot, footpaths are in bad condition or not available.
Places worth visiting are the museum, local market, handicraft market, Thurston Gardens (I was left wondering was that it!), watching locals play sport outside Parliament. For those interested in numismatics a visit to the Reserve Bank of Fiji is worthwhile.
Best meal out was at Paradiso.
Best outing from Suva was to Colo-i-Suva Forest Park

The last stay at the Eco Lodge and the Rainforest Park...
The last stay at the Eco Lodge and the Rainforest Park adjacent we visited changed my view of Suva - It's not just a city/capital. I wished the govenment would upgrade the roads inside the park, and make it a safer place for visitors especially at night.

I always stay at the Suve Holiday Inn when i'm visiting family....my favourite hotel. It was so central to every places that we visit. It was like home away from home. I tried to eat at different restaurants in the surrounding area. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a great start to the day with so many different selection of food. Keep up the good work everyone. See you soon again.

Its a friendly place and seems quite safe.
Its a friendly place and seems quite safe. Lots of shops etc. Wide range of restaurants, and food courts if you need a lunch in town.
Lots of souvenir shops and a souvenir center behind the post office. Remember to bargain.
Taxis are everywhere and cheap
Personally I would steer clear of the large "international" hotels, and find a clean 2nd level one. The large international hotels are just that. You could be anywhere.

Suva is the capital of a small island state.
Suva is the capital of a small island state. Don't expect particular monuments/parks. Still, I'm very happy I went there. I picked a taxi from Nadi for 100 euro/USD (one way) and this allowed me to cross the countryside of the main island, see people and places. Suva easily filled my two days there. It has a nice sea front to enjoy walking and the sunset. A couple of modern malls (I liked TappooCity and its food court). Several modern shops and some nice souvenir shops. Several cafes and restaurants. You can also notice many nice colonial buildings, churches etc. People are very friendly. I believe that travelers who wish to get the sense of the place they are visiting would enjoy such a ride to Suva. Mind one thing: It is very hard to find wifi in Suva. Consider purchasing a local SIM.
Very nice apartments, quite big, with a kitchen, TV (that actually works) and everything else one needs. Just recently renovated and very well kept. Best thing though is the balcony, that has a big wooden couch with an excellent view on the harbour and the bay.
There is a nice little garden and a pool. The staff is very helpful, if one needs something, they will see to it. Central location, just five minutes walk to shops and restaurants, ten to the center.
It's probably the best place to stay if you are in Suva.
Spotlessly clean and pleasant place to stay in Suva. Agam and Bobbi were friendly and welcoming hosts, and there were many thoughtful details like space in the fridge, tea and coffee and purified drinking water provided for guests. The A/C and wifi were great and the bed was comfortable. The guesthouse is well located and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. A really nice alternative to a hotel for those looking for a more personal and home-like experience while staying in Suva.
I really Love Leni who works at the hotel restaurant, she made me feel so welcomed especially when I travelled alone for work last year. She has a big smile and always makes everyone feel welcomed. This is my second time coming to Suva motor inn and I just love how simple and amazing the place is. It’s across the road from Albert park and is super quiet and not crowded like other hotels. Beautiful place. Cass
This is a high quality business and pleasure hotel located centrally in Suva and an ideal base for the discerning traveler. The food is high quality, the staff very friendly, the Internet fast, and the beds comfortable - there's a lot to like. The breakfast buffet was the first that I've struck in the region that starts to approach other parts of the world for quality and variety.
Everything the Hidden paradise offers is beyond expectation.
The majestic panoramic view of the Bay of Islands at the fore and the glistering sight at night and the quite tranquility of the Suva City coast line up yonder from the comfort of the bedroom is breathtaking.
Cleanliness for the entire of the hotel, room very pleasant with city view/smelled fresh included mini refrigerator, safe, ironing board and iron with closet to hang my clothes. It also had an elevator for easy access for entry/exit, pleasant staff and great location
The apartment was lovely and clean, kids loved the pool, and the location was perfect walking distance to supermarkets and shops. The host was very welcoming, and the cleaning lady did an excellent job, we will definitely stay again when visiting suva next.
The boutique hotel is well-located in the hills among embassies and consulates - an easy taxi ride to downtown Suva. The charming setting and buildings reflect old island charm and character, nicely updated.
The hotel is centrally located and I could easily access a lot of places. The staff are always friendly and helpful but had to use the housekeeper as there was no porter. She was extremely helpful.
Everything about it is jst so..so perfect..We really love every bit of the apartment, the view of Suva harbour, everything 💯💯💯💯💯💯 Looking forward to come back there🥰🥰🥰
