France’s 4th largest city, Toulouse abounds with beautiful red-brick buildings that have earned it the nickname Pink City. The focal point is Place du Capitole, a large square lined by restaurants and the grand Capitole building which is spectacularly lit at night. Equally impressive at night is the Pont-Neuf, a 16th-century bridge spanning the Garonne River.
This remarkably green city has many tree-lined boulevards and parks offering shade. It has a laidback, almost alternative vibe, perhaps due to its huge student population. The cuisine is also fantastic – try the regional duck and the cassoulet.
Must-see Toulouse sights include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed, 10th-century Basilica of Saint Sernin and the Georges Labit Museum, a fascinating collection of Asian and Egyptian artefacts. Record-breaking Stade Toulousain rugby union club is also based here – catch a match to experience the Gallic passion.
Out by Lasbordes Airport is Cité de l’Espace, a space-themed amusement park, particularly suited to young children. Another aviation-related feature is the city’s main industry - the Airbus-EADS factory, just north of Toulouse Blagnac Airport. Book in advance for a tour that includes the Airbus A380 production line.
To complete your stay, Booking.com has a range of Toulouse accommodation from hostels to motels and hotels.
It is so easy to get around. As expected, it feels more like a "real life city" than the craziness of Paris. More French people than tourists from 'all over'. It was busy in the shopping areas and restaurants, but it did not feel over-crowded.

Toulouse is a large and very vibrant city, with plenty of art, architecture, history, and music. We go for the opera, and I have not taken an opportunity to explore beyond the Place du Capitole. Driving can be difficult because of one-way streets at crazy angles, and the GPS is never up to date as roads are closed and directions are changed.

When going out from the hotel I had the feeling I was already in someone else’s way like a pedestrian or even a car. At the same time , I was next to a restaurant table and trash containers. Beware of dog poo everywhere.
Overall I found this city to be quite dirty and not taken care of properly.
The things I liked were the historical places like the convent, the churches and the capitole. It is also nice to see small businesses supporting local artists and artisans.

Beautiful city with old architecture, especially in the old center. Very lively in the evening, especially considering the number of students who work and live in the city. Central to South-West France, there is a very large choice of very good restaurants for all budgets.

Saturday night in Toulouse is a tense and lively experience.
Saturday night in Toulouse is a tense and lively experience. A lot of police, people are tense.
The next time we come to Toulouse we'll take a taxi to our restaurant in the evening.
Sunday morning in the market was great.
Incredible stay at Eklo Toulouse! Everything is modern, eco-crafted, and hip. Loved that there was a work area, Inside/outside seating, and super kind and helpful staff. Also, the Best croissants I've had in France! The train was effortlessly accessible as its right in front of the hotel. Great because I came in/out late and there was someone always willing to help. Also the staff speaks English, French, and Spanish!!! So great as an English speaker. Overall 10/10 would stay again
Perfect central location in Toulouse, very close to Place du Capitole, very helpful and positive staff and good breakfast everyday, quite good value for the money. Very easy to reach the hotel via Toulouse Blagnac Airport shuttle and dropping off by Jean D’Arc station (walking distance to hotel) Great wireless speed for business purposes. No need to activate via room number log in etc. Taxi arrangement via reception works flawlessly.
The location of the hotel is ideal for discovering Toulouse's centre - you can easily walk to the centre by foot, or to a metro station for venturing further afield. The room was basic (there were no tea or coffee making facilities) and it was on the small side, but the beds were comfortable and it was relatively clean. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was very nice.
Very happy with this brand new hotel located in a quiet residential area, but on the main bus route to the airport. The bed was very comfortable, having kitchen facilities in the room was great bonus too. The hotel is around 30 minutes walk from the city centre, but we thoroughly enjoyed finding different routes to use, along the canal, through the park etc
The breakfast was very pleasant and had all the elements to please both American and European tastes. The running and walking trails were right out the door and offered miles of trail to the center of Toulouse. My luggage was lost and the staff was not only completely empathetic but also assisted me in calling Air France to try and find it.
Great hotel near central Toulouse- very close to the main train station and an easy walk to restaurants, bars and parks.
We stayed for one night at the end of our trip, staff were very helpful sorting a taxi for us to the airport in the morning and the room was clean and tidy.
Room was clean, shower was excellent. Breakfast facilities were not used so unable to rate them. Came to France by plane and taxi to hotel, did not use parking facilities. Staff were very helpful with directions to things in the city and organising a taxi back to airport.
The room was very quiet. Breakfast was plentiful but not a buffet. The hotel is opposite Toulouse main railway station so very convenient for travel. Staff were keen to indicate places of interest to which I could easily walk into the centre from the hotel.
The hotel location is in the centre of Toulouse, cafes bars and restaurants are very close there is a night club next door but it did not cause any noise problems, my friends and I found the city very friendly and the people very welcoming.
Generous size studio room with balcony, very clean and well equipped. Large bathroom. Good location for main rail/coach stations and airport shuttle bus. Very good value for access to city centre.
location, convenient for transport from airport, walking round city centre, good breakfast, helpful staff, room fine, comfortable bed ( not always the case in France!)
The room was clear and spacious. The hotel is very well located, just 10min from the airport by car and you can easily walk into the city center in approx 30min.
Friendly welcome and service. Location in Toulouse was perfect, near to the Jeanne D'Arc area for buses to the airport and walking distance to the train station.
