Courchevel impresses with its exceptional skiing, diverse gourmet dining to world-leading levels, and enjoyable nightlife/apres-ski, perfectly blending outdoor adventure with culinary and leisure pleasures. It is of course at the more expensive end (and the sky's the limit on what you can spend on hotels/food/shopping). Getting around in Courchevel is easy with free buses, affordable parking, and lift connections even at night (1550 to 1850 gondola).

Le Praz (Courchevel 1300) is a lovely Savoie village with great charm. Although it has grown substantially over the years, it still retains its essential character. The new Alpinium centre, by the pretty lake, is impressive with the fast lift to 1850 and information and ski pass office. There is a chair-lift to the Bouc-blanc area above La Tania, the restaurant at the top makes an excellent stop for breakfast. There is a free bus service during the ski season that links La Tania with Le Praz & the other Courchevel resorts, it also descends to St Bon & Bozel.
Eating in Le Praz presents many options, from the amazing, Michellin-starred Azimut, and the Bistro du Praz offering sophisticated food. A special mention to La Petite Bergerie, which provides traditional Savoyard fare as well as some truly delicious meat courses cooked in front of the open fire. There is also a burger bar, the Elephant bar which serves good pizzas, and the hotel Peupliers and a new related start-up - l'etable de lys.
Le Praz has a couple of sports shops (Olympic Sports having looked after my needs for decades), a well-stocked supermarket, tabac, laundry, Fromagerie, bakery and butchers.

We went for the skiing, have been many times before and would wholeheartedly recommend Courchevel and especially Le Praz. The village has everything you need - restaurants/bars, 8-a-huit supermarket, shops and the most amazing bakery (Pain D'Antan's chocolate eclairs are almost worth the trip alone!).
It's perfectly set up for skiing - close enough to walk to the bubble station from pretty much anywhere in the village (we got a locker so we didn't have to carry heavy kit).
And (not sure if this is a plus or minus) everyone speaks impeccable English. I was trying to practise my French but as soon as I opened my mouth people in the shops and cafes would reply in English!
Nestled in the Alps, the views are utterly spectacular - I spent a good proportion of the trip saying, "Would you look at that?!" because everywhere you turn you behold the most amazing natural beauty. Can't wait to go back again!

Did not visit the Village on this occasion as been many times before and we got all we needed at the hotel. As a ski area it is exceptional, with plenty of variety of type and length of slope and access to other valleys if required.
breakfast was basic & continental (ham, cheese, pastries, baguettes) - no real hot options
brand new (seeming) sauna and steam room (but they originally claimed was broken)
parking walkable and affordable
interiors very clean
shared areas basic and in need of refresh
excellent location for direct gondola connection to 1850 and its amazing restaurants until midnight, walkable a couple of hundred meters away (need a ski pass)
Breakfast was simple (eggs, ham, croissants, coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal) but great, and the staff were kind. The boot and ski room is helpful, and you can walk to the gondola that will take you to the main town (Courchevel 1850). There is a small village walking distance and it has a local feel.
the ski in ski out location was exceptional as well as the location to town. Staff was very helpful. we enjoyed the room location with a view of the slopes. We also enjoyed the balcony. Breakfast was fine. Room was a little on the tight side. Might consider a larger room in the future.
The hotel was excellent in every way. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Location was perfect to ski in / ski out. Breakfast was great with a wide variety. Lovely var with great views and very friendly staff. Ski shop on site was perfect and had knowledgeable staff.
The location to the ski slopes is unmatched. The staff were absolutely wonderful, and very courteous, especially when our daughter was a little sick and we needed some assistance in the middle of the night.
The style and comfort of the hotel was amazing aswell
Hotel is very cozy and rooms are good in size. The staff is incredibly helpful and go above and beyond to make you enjoy your stay. Location is great, close to many good restaurants and the lifts. This is now our go-to hotel in Courchevel.
The location was excellent, exact opposite from the bus station and the ski lift of 1650. The breakfast was really good considering the money we paid for the room. The room was clean and big and cozy, with a view to the snowy Alpes.
It’s location is prime, a 5 minute walk to the gondola. There is a nice intimate bar and seating area on the ground floor of the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. I like that the shower was hot and had a large head.
Everything is good. The Hotel is very cosy with the amazing view of the slope. The rooms are clean and warm. The location is perfect, it’s easy to get the center 1850, ski rental shop, aqua centre, etc. The staff was hospitable.
- free shuttle to the village
- friendly concierge
- ski rental shop in the hotel
- ski in/out property
- balcony rooms with beautiful views
- breakfast in the room (but you have to pay 10€ for them to deliver it to you)
LOCATION WAS GREAT SKI IN SKI OUT.
APARTMENT WAS LOVELY,SOUTH FACING BALCONY,SUN ALL DAY.
EVERYTHING WE NEEDED,SLOPES ONE SIDE AND SHOPS BARS RESTURANTS OTHER.
2 LIFTS UP TO OUR 10th FLOOR APART.GREAT VIEWS.
The ski on, ski off location was amazing and the staff was the best at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. 1650 is a charming village -much better than the more hectic 1850. We had an amazing time and will return!
The staff was absolutely amazing and helpful when I lost my bag in Geneva airport. They were able to help me contact and translate and get my bag transported to the hotel while I was skiing.
The only bad thing in the hotel was the breakfast, they had nothing in the buffet, the only thing u can eat is eggs, and bread, but over all its quality was fine
