Originally built around 700 years ago, it’s been exquisitely renovated into luxury self-catering accommodation for up to six people with three stunning bedrooms. Blending medieval splendour with contemporary comforts, it provides a truly unique place to stay in York. Entering Lendal Tower is like stepping into a piece of medieval history. Original wood panelling and ornate ceiling plasterwork bring to life the opulence of old. As you climb the spiral staircase, the majesty increases with each floor, culminating with the rooftop terrace and its spectacular views across the city. A member of our friendly and knowledgeable team will be available to greet you and show you around if you wish, and we’ll be on hand to assist you throughout your stay. With a wealth of renowned historic and cultural landmarks on your doorstep, all you’ll need to worry about is how to fit it all in. Whether it’s a family adventure or a celebration with friends, Lendal Tower will transform your trip to York into an unforgettable experience.
Mike (Owner) - Being able to share such an historic building with people from around the world still gives me a thrill. The Tower is an intrinsic part of the City of York and I think being able to welcome people to such an iconic property is really rewarding. Nathan (Property Manager) - I have been fortunate enough to meet people from every corner of the UK and the globe and it is so rewarding to see the excitement on the faces of everyone who arrives. It truly is rewarding to ensure our guests have the most enjoyable of stays. Ernestina (Head Housekeeper) - I have looked after the housekeeping at Lendal Tower for over 10 years now and it still amazes me every day. Not many people get to call such an amazing building their place of work and I take such pleasure in ensuring everything is perfect for our guest's arrival.
You couldn't stay in a more central place in York. In fact, if you search "York" on Google Maps, the pin drops on the centre of Lendal Bridge! You are mere seconds from finding the numerous bars, restaurants and coffees that York has to offer. You can also quickly reach the historic walls (seeing as Lendal Tower was part of the defences!) which is a great walk to take to help orientate yourself within the city. City Cruises is also our neighbour, so if you fancy a sail down the river, just walk out of the front door and hop on the next ship to depart.
