FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

The Roman Baths is a must we also walked to the Royal crescent the Circle was pretty. There was some very pretty parks too. Plenty of shops. We enjoyed great meals too especially Yak Yeti Yak and Tagine Zhor. My partner enjoys real ale and there are several pubs that was not only friendly but served great ales.

Bath itself is a really nice town but I feel that there is too many students in work without customer skill. Visited the roman baths thought it was well overpriced what we paid for two people was too expensive should have thought about before we booked.

Bath is a wonderful city to visit.

Bath is a wonderful city to visit. Shopping is good with a wide range of shops and stores, from chains to independents. There are many really good cafes and restaurants. The architecture of the city is amazing and its a lovely place to just walk around and see the sights. The parks are pretty and the pubs are fun. I would highly recommend the Scallop Shell if you like fish and seafood.

Small city makes exploring easy and manageable for all. Beautiful sights to see and a bustling and lively place. Loved the Roman baths and the Thermae spa is a great way to rest your tired feet from all the exploring! We visited a comedy club that was great fun. Lots of places to eat but recommend booking as you may have to wait if you don’t.

If you don't want to sample the greatly overpriced attractions; just admire the architecture. Baths, pump room phenomenally overpriced. Leave these out and go to one of many side streets or walk to the Holburne museum cafe ( not the museum itself), enjoy a coffe and then explore the Sydney Gardens.

The Boathouse had the best guest room I have ever stayed at. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable and the decor was quirky and fun. Having the balcony looking out over the river gave us a great space to get fresh air and enjoy the view. The pub and restaurant carried on with the quirky decor and made for a relaxing area to sit and eat. A big shout out to the staff, especially Chloe, who made our stay really special. Having the park and ride next door was great as it made getting in and out of Bath city centre really easy.

This hotel is very good, very well decorated with very professional staff. The room was a good size and had air conditioning, However one of the best things about this hotel, is the Spa Baths, they really are superb. The breakfast was first class, as was the service, very pleased. Their restaurant was closed for dinner, due to staff shortages, but there are so many restaurants in Bath to choose from this was not a problem. Over all, excellent. Would most definitely return.

The bed was so comfortable. My room very quiet overnight, had a great sleep. This is a traditional English hotel so don't expect fancy charger sockets or mod cons and the water takes a while to heat up in the shower but you always get fantastic reception service and friendly staff and you cannot beat the location for being in the centre of Bath. Parking is a bonus at £12 for 24 hours but need to book ahead as it is limited.

The hotel is located in an excellent location. You can walk pretty much everywhere. It's located right by city center so you're able to walk to the Historic Roman Baths and pretty much any other tourist site. Plus you're close to shopping and good eateries. The bed was super comfy, the water in the bathroom was hot, and the room was quite clean. My favorite part was probably the breakfast. The breakfast buffet was amazing.
