Peak season will definitely make this town more lively with more shops open. We came during early April, and the beaches are empty (which could be great if you prefer to keep the beach to yourself). The drive around the island is interesting as most roads are narrow with hills. Recommend to go with the full insurance option if it's not expensive as precocious. There are water taxi options to transport to another beaches, and I recommend that over driving if driving is not your forte, and you want to party.

Mykonos City, the vibrant capital of the Greek island of Mykonos, is a picturesque blend of traditional charm and cosmopolitan allure. Whitewashed buildings adorned with colorful shutters line narrow cobblestone streets, creating a postcard-perfect setting against the backdrop of the azure Aegean Sea. Explore the iconic windmills overlooking the harbor, witness the bustling activity of Little Venice's waterfront cafes and bars, or wander through the labyrinthine alleys of the Old Town, discovering hidden gems at every turn. By day, soak up the sun on clean beaches. Mykonos City is a destination that captivates with its beauty, energy, and irresistible charm.

I suggest to rent a car to visit so many places there, one day is enough to know the old town. Do No forget to see the sunset at Windmill. Two days are enough, stay more just if you like to practice sea sports.

I visited Mykonos in February (Off season).
I visited Mykonos in February (Off season). It is famous for being a party island and but this time of the year, it was very silent. If you want to avoid crowd and take beautiful pictures without any interruption, this is the best time for you. No shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics were opened in the town. Only 3 restaurants were opened in the whole mykonos town and one among them gave me upset tummy. I strongly suggest to take snacks, medicines etc so that you don't make same mistake I did.
A fantastic villa, conveniently located within walking distance of the main town and has shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.
the owner met us on arrival with a fantastic welcome plater and wine, perfect after a long journey. she couldn’t have been more help during our stay, helping us with everything we asked.
this is without a doubt the best villa we have stayed in with a service that is more than you would get in any 5 star resort.
We would without doubt recommend this to anyone and hope to return in the near future.
The staff, the location, the vibes. Everything about this place is cool. If you want a decent hotel which is close to everything downtown this is the place.
I would advocate staying in a place like this during the majority of your stay as it is so well located and then one of the 5 star hotels for chill days.
Coming back drunk through the streets of Mykonos at 2am from little Venice will never get old, not needing a taxi and the ability to eat anywhere and everywhere within a 5 min walk is what makes this place cool.
The staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful. The airport transit to and from the hotel was also timely and efficient. It felt exactly like a cosy cottage with added luxury and comfortability and the sea view from the hotel was stunning. The hotel is also a walkable distance from Mykonos Town (though I would not recommend walking back up from the town to the hotel due to the hilliness) but it was located in the perfect spot and distance away from many of the most popular beach clubs and bars of Mykonos Island.
Amazing family run rooms, Sophie, John and Nick were all so lovely and super helpful.
Ask for a transfer, cheaper than taxi and John was there waiting for me when I landed.
Lovely large clean quiet room with patio outside, really comfy bed with gorgeous linens, shower had good pressure and constant hot water, really good WiFi, close to town which is a 5 minute walk away.
Definitely go to Libertys on the top road nearby for fab breakfast, bit pricey but great views from the patio and loads of choice.
We stayed for one night on our way to Paros and had a very nice time at the hotel Calistus. We were welcomed by Fotini at the reception desk who was very kind and provided helpful information as to what to do in Mykonos and how to easily get to the old town. The room was pristine, large, and decorated with taste. The view from the balcony is simply amazing! Quality mattress and bedding too. Everything was top notch and I would gladly come back and recommend the place to friends and family.
Everyone at the Marisso were absolutely incredible. A family run hotel that made you feel like you were part of the family when you stay.
The location is the best, a short walk down the hill and you are in fabrica which is the entrance to the town.
The hotel was spotless and has the most beautiful views. The pool is the perfect thing if you just want a day to rest.
Thank you so much to everyone there. You made it our best trip to Mykonos yet.
See you next year!
We stayed at the Vencia Boutique Hotel for our mini-moon, we got married in Santorini. The staff were all so lovely and helpful, the hotel was beautiful with an amazing infinity pool with the most spectacular views of the harbour and the old town. The food was exceptional, both dinner and breakfast, again with stunning views and sunset and the room was very comfortable. We cannot fault this hotel at all, it was an amazing find and we loved staying there.
Best location to stay in Mykonos cause is only 4 minutes from the town and wherever you want to go is not far.I stayed in a suite with jacuzzi outside and I could see the amazing view in front of the sea! The stuff was so friendly and kind absolutely helpful 24hours! The room was so clean and the furniture brand new!!! Thank you so much Sharm Hotel and staff for our time that we spend with you! I recommended for couples friends or family!!!
Service was exceptional. Gorgeous pool with a lovely view. Very comfortable rooms with a lovely sea view balcony, perfect for watching the sunset. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve had, such delicious choices, champagne with breakfast.
Loved how the hotel were available on WhatsApp for any help needed and they were so helpful with bookings and reservations too. A short walk into the old town, great location.
We had a travel disaster (unrelated to the hotel itself)
Kate went over and above to help us organise alternate travel arrangements. She was calm, understanding, and dealt with everything for us. As non-Greek speakers, she was a genuine life saver. And the hotel is gorgeous! 5 star amenities, very reasonably priced. Easy walk to town. Would definitely recommend!
The best hotel I have been to in Greece, because of its high standards. Very beautiful and clean hotel, with a good location, helpful staff, great pool area with comfortable sunbeds (you could lend pooltowel, which is always a plus traveling with handluggage), great breakfast, beautiful room with a big balcony (with the view of Mykonos city and ocean).
The host was just amazing! Super friendly, very helpful, he gave me free lift from the airport and dropped me at the ferry port when i checked out. He gave really the best recommendations in town. I think it's the best host I've ever met! The hotel is right at the city center and room was clean and comfortable. I definitely would stay there again!
Leftetis Hotel is situated in a perfect location downtown Mykonos with walking distance to all the attractions and experiences.
On the same time it’s very quiet! In the very clean, friendly and aesthetic rooms it’s very easy to rest and relax.
The roof terrace offers a fantastic view to Mykonos city and it’s port.
Everything! Beautiful, small hotel! Super clean, comfortable! Super quiet and relaxing. The staff is the best! Cristina at the front desk is amazing, the best attitude and energy! Extremely helpful and nice! Dimitris the driver is also super nice! Breakfast is huge and delicious! Short 10 minute walk to the town.
Everything was so perfect. The personal was so helpful and polite. The rooms were neat and cleaned plus had a beautiful style. We were in the middle of the main town with amazing shops and restaurants.
And the bakery was right in front of our hotel.
Love it!
Our stay was perfection. Highly recommend this place, beautiful views and just removed enough from town to give one a very peaceful experience. Beautiful pool and bar area! Staff were all extremely helpful and the family run spirit of the hotel shone through ♡
The rooms were small and basic but very clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic, in the old town very close to the old square and waterfront. The family that run the hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful.
