Hotel was super friendly and welcoming for all types of travelers, families with young kids included. Very helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable staff and well kept facilities; it felt like home and we enjoyed spending our free time there (i.e., there was no need to seek out restaurants to hang out at to pass the time). Sufficient hammocks and lounging spaces were always available - critical for our enjoyment. Breakfast was nutritious and we appreciated the limited use of the fridge. Location was fantastic. Views were breathtaking.

Such good value for money, as a couple it was pretty much as cheap as staying in a hostel but quieter and cleaner!

Breakfast was a good spread. Got a dorm, as I wasn't able to find private room while making a last minute booking. Considering it was a dorm, it was decently comfortable, people were quiet and respectful of sleeping time, there were curtains to block out the light. Ok value for money.

Nice location, big and comfy bed in a spacious room. The room was cleaned almost daily and was Very clean. Also they have really good breakfast. The location is ideal, off enough from the busy-ness of clubs, but still in walking distance of almost all restaurants.

We loved staying in this town because of the variety of waterfront restaurants and it felt a little less touristy than the other towns. You can easily walk or tuktuk to San Juan and you can easily access a quick boat ride to San Marcos as well.

This town is really just for young backpackers looking to party. You can pop in for a few hours during the day to check it out, but if you don't fit that demographic stay in a different town on the lake.

This place is a riot of colour and full of authentic Guatemalan life. The women in the town were dressed so beautifully, one could just watch them going about their daily lives. The little town is situated right on the lake and there is more than enough to do to keep one busy for a few days. I would highly recommend this place. As a bonus there is a cluster of very good and healthy middle eastern and other restaurants. I would go back for the falafel any day of the week.

When you go to SP it's not just SP.
When you go to SP it's not just SP. Boat rides to towns like San Juan, San Marcus, Panajachel, etc. are right there! Colorful, full of culture, markets, education and experience. SP is a great place to base yourself in; especially if you are Jewish/kosher. It's near chabad, 2 kosher restaurants and the docks to take you to all the other villages/towns.

It should be a five quetzal to get anywhere in the main area of San Pedro in Tuk Tuk. If you go to the El Mirador have the tuk tuk to wait for you or it can be hard getting one back to town. The 5B ATM machines charge large fees so try to get money before you go here. For cheap food go to either of the Tacomexs. A lot of locals wash their clothes in the lake so if you want to swim go to San Marcos.

San Pedro is full of night life and back packers.
San Pedro is full of night life and back packers. It is very safe and it is easy to access most other parts of Lake Atitlan. Be prepared with cash as many places do not accept credit cards, and if they do they add a large fee. My only major criticism is it is so touristy that they do not have much local Guatemalan food!! The food is not great in the city.

I chose Casa Llemo as I was looking for a homestay experience with a local Guatemalan family over the Xmas period. Staying with Julio and his wife and kids and cats fulfilled this and as a guest I was fully included in all the family Christmas activities which was awesome. The place is the family home but I had my own room and bathroom which were simple and functional. The daily included cooked breakfast is the best you will find. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome, comfortable and included in the family which is awesome.
The location is close to everything and the view of the lake from the rooms is incredible. The beds are very comfortable. The toilet and shower are what you would expect from a Guatemalan home and were kept very clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap. The owners were very lovely and accommodating. My stay here was perfect and the price was also great so no complaints.
Staff were very friendly. Excellent view to the lake where you can enjoy the sunrise inside the room. Bathroom is spacious enough. There are around 6 different swimming pool sizes. The location is a bit far from downtown making it a silent place. Travelling around San Pedro in tuk tuk is only 5 quetzales per person; so moving from or to the hotel is not a problem at all.
Spacy, two beds rooms. Semi-warm water. Lolita is very nice and helpful. She arranged an Indian nose hike and shuttle to Antiqua for us for a good price (not like other hostels where they asked for more than the common price). Free water, shared kitchen, many hammocks. It's central location but not on the main street so you can sleep properly. Thank you! Would stay again.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. The owner of the hotel gave us his personal attention. Everything was as described in the listing,
and exceeded our expectations…. Clean, and well maintained, with stunning sunrise views, we would definitely come back. Very quiet and off the main streets, but still close to everything you might need. We loved this place!
Really good price for Guatemala, even if what you get is not too much.
The rooms were kind of clean and all equiped with all what you need (ok wifi, soap, towels, hot water)
Possible to get extra blankets for free, which is good because it is cold in the night.
Great view over the lake.
The hotel is owned by a family of locals, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to go for a hike and proposed to prepare sandwiches for us which was very nice 👍 they went the extra mile to make sure we had a good stay. They also have a nice little patio.
Amazing terrace, cleaned daily, with hammocks and chairs and the most beautiful undisturbed view over Lake Atitlan.
Very friendly owners, even through language barriers all our requests were solved. We even extended our stay, because we really enjoyed this place.
Lovely hotel. Our room was nice. Comfy bed. Shower warm, though pressure a bit low, but anyway sufficient.
Excellent position. Staff very welcoming and ready to help.
Fantastic view on the lake. Gorgeous cats 😻
Totally recommended!
I liked that it was a few "blocks" away from the party hostels. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, but clean. On my third night they offered a promotion that included free breakfast.
The owners were really lovely and kind and wanted to give us anything we needed. The facilities are ok albeit a little bit basic. The breakfast was delicious, the best we had in Guatemala.
the rooms were basic but the beds were very comfortable. everything was very clean. the breakfast in the morning was very tasty and they kept everything at the hotel very clean.
