Enjoyed the thermal baths and the valley of beautiful women, but the castle museum was a bit of a letdown. Definitely wouldn't spend more than one night here, but could even just pass through it for a short visit on the way to somewhere else.

We made the mistake of coming during the winter, we really wanted to enjoy nature in the mountains and to visit the national park. Due to weather conditions we couldn't do much and the national park was closed. The steam train nearby was also closed. It's a cute village to visit, i bet it is more beautiful during spring/summer/autumn.

The beautiful old town, relaxing thermal baths located in a charming park (there is a free parking just next to the park!), delicious food, wine and wonderful palinka, and above all, friendly residents. Visit the castle, the huge cathedral, the Franciscan church and the beautiful Esterhazy library. It is also worth visiting Egerszalok, walking through the vineyards, eating in the local restaurant and seeing the Hungarian pamukkale.

Eger is a great town to visit while in Hungary.
Eger is a great town to visit while in Hungary. There is an area outside of the city center (but still easy walking distance) called the Valley of the Sirens that is home to many wineries. It is well worth a visit. There are also parks within driving distance with plenty of trails for beautiful hikes. In the city, there are great dining options, amazing architecture, and plenty to do.
The apartment is in an old building but it was a surprise when we get to the 4th floor, it looks like a 5 star hotel. The apartment is big enough for 2 people, quiet, clean and very close to the city center.
Due to some delay, we had to reschedule a couple of times our arrival time but the host was so kind to wait for us.
There was also a dedicated parking few steps away from the entrance. The Wi-Fi was good. We didn't cook but I could see that there is everything you need.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. We were given a map that helped us locate points of interest in Eger. The hotel was very affordable which means it isn't in the heart of downtown. But the downtown was a short walk away so that was no problem. The valley of Beautiful women was also only a 20 minute walk away. The room was comfortable and there was a shared kitchen available. Also, the hotel had parking in front of the main entrance.
lovely hotel.
great wellness especially for little kids with a separate kids pool.
breakfast and dinner included (half-board) with a very good understanding of allergens and dietary requirements - able to cater (properly!) for vegans.
comfortable beds & well sound proofed rooms.
private parking included for a small daily fee.
Excellent location in the very centre of Eger, spacious apartment, private parking close to the apartment, good breakfast, friendly hosts. When choosing an apartment, we were guided by the opinions of previous guests of the afrodite apt., which were very positive.
Very nice and new interior. Helpfull and kind Personel. Well organised. Refrigerator in the room. Pet friendly but 12€ additionally. Breakfast in a hotel 400m from pension.
Cheap Parking on the street (you need forint coins)
Check-in 24h like in the hotel
Eger - as usual, an atmospheric, charming place with the atmosphere of old Hungary. Monuments, good food and thermal pools. It all makes you want to come back here. In addition - we came across the Wine Festival at the University - a great event!
Very good location, only 5 minutes walk to the center. Staff were kind and friendly. The breakfast was good enough. The room with the balcony is very quite, facing to the back garden. Room and the hotel are nice and clean. We sure come back.
I liked the fact that the continental breakfast was included, had a good selection. I liked the location, very central in Eger, nearby to shops, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. Clean facilities and friendly staff.
it's a nice rancho with many horses and other animals with a building converted to a hotel with many small rooms for guests. Outside the city, surrounded with vineyards. 5min drive to Eger.
Very modern, quiet, roomy, clean apartment. the staff is so helpful. and it is located RIGHT in the center if the city next to the minaret. superb location with private parking
Beautiful views over Eger and the castle in winter. Very comfy bed and clean facilities, cake and snacks provided in the room! Free parking below the hotel as well.
