Unfortunatly the roads are worse and worse in Hungary.
Unfortunatly the roads are worse and worse in Hungary. Gyula it’s beatiful, in the autumn you can make great photos. I’ve found very neat and cozy restsurants such as Varkonyi bistro, was always full with guests, the food was very tasty, serving 1st class. They have a cookie shop named The 100 years old cookie shop, but was under renovation who knows till when, that was bit sad, I always visit it.

Visited Gyula Aquapark for 2 days.
Visited Gyula Aquapark for 2 days. I can say that it was nice but seems like they try to charge you for everything:
* 1.5 EUR/person city tax;
* parking near Aquapark about 8 EUR/day Monday-Sunday.
Food & drinks pricy compared to similar Aquaparks (Szeget, Mako, Timisoara).
Long waiting time at restaurant queue (restaurants with no waiters or waitresses).
Very crowdy at the hot thermal water pools.

Nice town with history. Clean, people were nice. I loved that everyone was biking, bike roads were everywhere, the people seem to be friendly and know how to spend a good evening. The restorants were full , the streets were full of people. It was lively. I wish I could have stayed more.

A great small town with fantastic spa and the second oldest cukraszda in Hungary but first in taste to money ratio.
Dobos torta and Chokolate Mousse is a must. But not together please...
Gyulai famous kolbasz and Bekes palinka finish it all.
Enjoy!
Last but not least the castle and the small picturesque streets close to Varfuerdo.
I keep on coming there as you could understand.

Very nice little town, with a great thermal facility and nice people.
Food was delicious (both at the Spa, and in the city - Skorpio pizzeria).
Too bad the weather was cold (which is normal in January). We plan to come back in Summer to enjoy more ...

Almássy Kastély and the Castle were fantastic, in autumn the colours are beautiful in the beautiful parks. Százéves Cukrészda is a place to go, more than 100 years old cake shop with extraordinary cakes and hand made chocolate.
Very good hotel, 4* superior., big rooms, great food - stayed there for 2 nights & we had different type of food every day. Live music for dinner in the evening & personnel very attentive to guests.
The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the thermal baths (15min by foot), nevertheless situated right on the city promenade, so very good location. The city itself is small, walking to the bath & enjoying the thermal baths & the castle is pretty much all that you can do. Try the ice-cream on the city promenade!
Gyula Wellness Panzio is a real delight, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making for a relaxing stay. Its convenient location near the Castle of Gyula is perfect for exploring the area. The wellness facilities, including a sauna and hot tub, add a touch of luxury. Highly recommend for a comfortable and enjoyable visit to Gyula.
Location is excellent, close to the thermal bats. I liked the wellness area and my child really, really enjoyed the kids playground. The place was clean, staff was friendly and I also liked that they had this underground parking garage so I could park there (it costs extra though), so I can say it was a great experience.
Very clean and spacious. Air conditioning in each room worked well which was important since it is an attic space. Check-in and check out went smoothly and the owners were kind and responded quickly to our needs. The garden is beautiful! Gyula is an oasis of calm beauty.
Everything was amazing, the staff was very helpful and kind, the food was special, delicious and high quality and there was great variety.
Our room and the common places were clean and uniquely designed, the wellness was small but ambient with a sauna and a jacuzzi.
A beautiful little room with a full bed, kitchen, wardrobe, private bath, satellite TV and free wifi. The building is right in the center of town, a short walk from the castle, thermal baths, restaurants and shops, etc. The host family was polite and helpful.
Lovely apartment near the swimming pools and Gyula castle. It is very well equipped, it has its own parking lot. The host was nice and helpful. If we go to Gyula again, we will book the same apartment again.
newly decorated, fully equipped, spacious, stylish and perfectly clean apartment, excellent location close to spa complex and city center, own secured parking
everything is far above my expectation
The room was big and you can also cook some food. Very clean and we had a little terrace where you can smoke. The area is very quiet and very close to the aquapark.
Everything was perfect. Very spacious apartment, clean, equipped with everything you need, very good heating, very close to the aquapark (2 min walking distance).
