The kindest staff work here. They made us and especially our kids feel so welcome. Also there is a super handy shuttle service to all the sites. The pool is wonderful. The breakfast is amazing with lots of choice and great value - our best breakfast in Indonesia! Beds are huge and comfortable. Also you get a discount at the Japanese restaurant in front of the hotel - lovely fresh sushi and a small kids play area.

The only issue I had was I asked staff when first contacted if it was wheel chair friendly they said it was. It wasn’t even close lots of steps not good for older person . Then was charged extra for a different room a little closer to amenities. Everything else was fantastic

Ubud was beautiful! So many things to see and do, we loved going to the waterfalls and rice terrace. Ubud centre was really busy but we went during the king Cremation. We went to a sliver making class which was amazing! The locals were beautiful, really friendly and not pushy at all!!

Most visited places are too overrated, with crowds of tourists an nothing special to see. Ceking rice teracce was nothing magical - rice were cut, so all we could see was a bunch of tourists in a mud taking worthless activities (like a riding a bike on zip line). Tirta Empul temple was overcrowded as well, no magic and no sense of holiness (be aware of women selling bananas. First they give banana to try, but then say ‘pay pay pay’). One of the most popular waterfall Tegenungan was nice, but even there was litter all around.
Ubud is a place for shoping as there is a lot of shops, food markets, bazzars. Very simple to travel with Gojek. A lot of places to eat. Vegan The Zest has a good vibe.
The front desk staff are incredibly kind and helpful. During my stay, the entire hotel staff were very attentive and professional, always asking if there was anything we needed assistance with. The hotel provided us a driver for the day, Wira, who gave my wife and I an amazing tour of Ubud. This was the best part of our trip. We learned so much from him about Balinese culture and the history of Ubud while being able to choose the places we wanted to visit. Thank you so much Kastara Resort Team and Wira! We will certainly be coming back
There are only a few rooms in the property which make it very calm and gives you the feeling you have the hotel just for yourself. The staff is amazing, from the reception, to the cleaning staff and the restaurant, everyone ensure we had
The best stay possible. If you want to have a great experience in ubud stay on this hotel. We stay in the duplex room with private pool, on the ground floor you have the living room and the bathtub and the first floor the room.
5 star experience all the way. Villas are great. View from private pool over the valley and jungle is amaizing. Big infinity pool and restaurat views are amaizing too. You can even see Mt Batur in a sunny day. Very clean. Bathroom with big tub, bedroom all comes with view over the valley and jungle. Very private and great intimacy! Separate outside shower full of plants. Food was great too. All staff very nice, attentive and very helpfull!
Beautiful property, we stayed in a villa with private pool, it was so private, peaceful and relaxing. The villa itself was spacious and comfortable. All staff were so friendly and welcoming and the main pool area was also lovely. Breakfast was lovely, a nice choice and very fresh. We ate in the restaurant the first night we arrived and the food was also very good. Free shuttle to Ubud market was great too.
The villa with private pool was very nice and clean.
The view of the forest was magnificent.
The staff super kind and helpful.
You can hear just nature all around the hotel because is up the hill of Ubud
Free shuttle available to the Ubud Palace and center of the city
Breakfast was amazing, you can choose anything from the manu and the staff at the restaurant are extremely kind and accomodating.
The location of this hotel is ideal --walkable rating of 75+ and it is located near some of the best shopping and restaurants in Ubud -- however it is set back from the street a little bit and provides a quiet oasis when the main road is busy. Also the staff...bent over backwards to find ways to fix even the tiniest things...I appreciate the attention to detail and their listening ear!
Very very very friendly staff. We had a beautiful room with private pool, all very clean and great atmosfere. The whole stay was super relaxing. The area is just outside of the business of Ubud, so it is quiet and peaceful. The food was amazing, the coffee was amazing. We highly recommend this hotel! we loved every minute of our stay!
One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful property, great location close to a Ubud, but in the hills, so very peaceful and quiet. Magnificent breakfast every morning beyond any expectations. The pool was fantastic as well. I also loved the caring and genuine staff who went out of their way to make everything, perfect.
Quiet and serene, private dip pool was clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. This was by far one of the best hotels/villas we have stayed at in bali to date. Nice and close to Monkey Forest, easy walking distance to restaurants, tattoo parlours, main shopping yet quiet and you cant tell how close you are.
I like the general location of this hotel, in a nice quiet village. It’s a fair hike down to Ubud, but you can take the path through the rice fields that starts across from The Pengkolan Warung (the path and the warung are both lovely). The room was kind of run-down but it was clean.
Very comfy mattress, cute family run villa, beautiful gardens with a koi fish pond and birds. Looks exactly like the photos. Extreme value for the money, very central to markets, main shopping street. Similar modern look to 5 star hotels I have stayed in Bali. The family is lovely.
The tent and private pool was wonderful. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our every request. They organized a private candlelit dinner at our pool, floating breakfast, shuttles to center of Ubud, Landry and more. It was the best service I have had in any hotel.
We loved our stay at Masia villa, our private pool was fantastic and the views were stunning. The villa is a little bit out of the way and you can’t get to it by car but the hotel can take you into the centre by scooter and will pick you up again which was amazing.
I liked my one bedroom villa with private pool and the open air bathroom. Also a highlight were the monkeys from the nearby monkey forest. Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming too.
This hotel is a gem in Ubud. I could not have loved it more. From the kindness of the staff to the quality of the Villa, everything was perfect for my 11 night stay in Bali.
The location is in the heart of Ubud, the room is clean, the breakfast is good. The price for one night is really cheap, but hey it’s a homestay that feels like a hotel.
