We did excursions every day and they were great. Waterfalls, monkey Forest and Blue Lagoon snorkel trip.
Restaurants were all good, a lot were serving pretty similar food, but great taste,
Make sure to go to some evening shows like Gamelan

Ubud itself was too crowded for me.
Ubud itself was too crowded for me. The surroundings however were beautiful and peaceful.
Tips:
- cooking class in the rice fields
- Moksa restaurant
- NEKA museum
- walking the ridge
- taking a massage at the end of the ridge

This was our 3rd trip to Ubud in the past 10 years and it was definitely much more crowded this time, compared to before. Traffic is chaotic most days so we suggest people plan around that. We stayed in a resort that was walking distance to some good cafes and restaurants but we were able to spend most of our time relaxing at the resort.

We enjoyed the atmosphere, locals very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed the atmosphere, locals very friendly and helpful. Roads are a little more run down then other areas with pathways being narrow. However, we loved our stay in Ubud and would definitely stay there again.

OMG. Not only one hotel but everywhere in Bali it’s the same...
OMG. Not only one hotel but everywhere in Bali it’s the same huge problem: the air is musty and humid. Mold is everywhere. I booked a resort for 5 days, this issues was the same. I looked again and again on Booking for a normal hotel or room to stay free of mold and ALL of them are humid. I went to each property before booking it and I checked for the room because I’ve really wanted to spend more time on this island but there are all the same....
If you don’t believe me check the walls when you check in.
Cockroaches, mosquitos, ants (all kinds of them) are everywhere.
Nobody renovates the bathroom! They are all old and more or less disgusting with old bins and toilets etc. Towels... I’ve never seen a new one.
You can also ignore all these issues and be happy and visit Bali, as well. I will definitely leave and “throw away the keys” without any regrets.

Ubud is a quieter place that other areas of Bali.
Ubud is a quieter place that other areas of Bali. From here we went to to the Gate of Heaven temple which was convenient. Ubud centre has many nice restaurants to explore both local & international food.
it’s perfect if u r looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay in ubud while you will stay the whole day outside doing activities, as there is not enough amenities if u r looking for proper hotel, the price is reasonable, i was concerned about the insects as i know ubud as a tropical place is full of that, but luckily I didn’t experience anything and this is one of the reasons why i picked de metra villa as there was no comment regarding insects.
just expect to see a tiny un harmful lizard in the garden
Staff, view, location to central and relatively close to Yoga Barn (5 min bike). Could walk to 8 dining places in 3 minutes including a grocery store. I stayed in 4 different places in Ubud - this was the best for me when combined with value, location and helpful and friendly staff. Even bike rental from the hotel was easy (old beat up bike but was fine!). The owners (couple) are charming and personable and they instill good training for everyone I encountered there. I felt very protected and cared for.
We enjoyed our stay at Bidadari very much! It was private, exclusive, and definitely quiet. You could easily be immersed in nature. The hotel provided pick up and drop off daily to central Ubud. Breakfast was great as well. Staff were accommodating to our requests as we were traveling with a toddler. We enjoyed the private pool as it gave us alot of privacy, and we were able to do a small family photoshoot at the hotel itself as it was beautiful.
the hotel is full of kindness staff. they smile all the time and distribute happiness. you feel very well because of their energy. we are very pleasure and thank to all of them. hotel is very clean, food are very delicious. we stayed in villa with private pool. it has a big garden look like heaven. big garden cause some nature so if you’re sensitive about snails chose any other room.
The location is the absolute best! Super close to the Sacred Monkey Forest, nice walk to Campuhan Ridge Walk, very close to town center and all amenities (restaurants, shopping, cafes). The hotel grounds are a beautiful garden oasis which is peaceful and quiet even though it is steps from the business of Ubud! The pool is cool and refreshing after a hot walk around town.
We stayed at Village, it was beautiful, impressive, with private pool, two big bedrooms, main bathroom amazing with bathtub outside, plenty of space and all the decoration superb, felt like sleeping inside a Temple. Ubud art is really good!! Extremely recommend this hotel, the service is top.Location is also very convenient, 300m walking distance from central market.
One of the most beautiful hotels in Bali. Villa is amazing , the view to jungle is mesmerizing. Staff is very professional and always ready to assist. Service is excellent! Pool area is so beautiful. Loved the idea of free shuttle to center of Ubud. Got free photo shoot session. Special thanks to that. In general was one beautiful experience .
Very very very friendly staff. We had a beautiful room with private pool, all very clean and great atmosfere. The whole stay was super relaxing. The area is just outside of the business of Ubud, so it is quiet and peaceful. The food was amazing, the coffee was amazing. We highly recommend this hotel! we loved every minute of our stay!
The Villa itself is beautiful and very clean with private pool all to ourself. Kadek took care what we need promptly. We send our laundry everyday and got it back sameday cleaned and pressed and its cheap too. Wayan, her brother being a tour guide can also give good advice. We're happy with their friendly and bubbly attitude.
This is the best place we’ve been on Bali. Just at the outskirts of Ubud. We had the family villa with private pool. Putu helped us with everything we needed or responded quick, and the breakfasts were a gem every morning.
Instead of some villas this one is just off the main road, making the traffic noise less.
We stayed in a private pool villa. Had absolute privacy, cleaning was done properly and we enjoyed the visits of the monkeys! The spa was fabulous and we had a private day trip from the hotel that was very nice (although the evening restaurant in the trip was way overpriced!)
Great service by the hotel. Helped us get a tour around Ubud area and even tickets to Nusa Penida, although at a little overpriced rates.
The staff was very cooperative and helpful.
The room with the private villa was amazing and the whole resort had a calming vibe to it.
We loved our stay at Masia villa, our private pool was fantastic and the views were stunning. The villa is a little bit out of the way and you can’t get to it by car but the hotel can take you into the centre by scooter and will pick you up again which was amazing.
Everything! From the staff to the facilities everything was just perfect! For people who are afraid of insects I highly recommend staying here… the cleaning is amazing and the staff is always ready to help you;) one of the best hotels in Bali for sure!
We have rented the 2 bedroom villa with private pool. The location of the Villa is great, 30 minutes walk to the Sacred Monkey Forest and to the centre of Ubud. Staff is really helpful. Very spacious, private pool was cleaned every day.
The best stay ever in ubud. The staff were very professional and helpful. We felt we were at home. I highly recommend the hotel and next time I’m coming back I’ll not think to book any other hotel. Thank you for the lovely experience.
The views are unparalleled. The size of the hotel was perfect, not massive and very personalized. We’ve stayed in a few hotels in Ubud. This is the best by far and will definitely return.
Wayan's banana pancakes were the best that we had in Bali. He is a really helpful guy.
Overall the stay was okay for the price. You can find cheaper hotels in Ubud.
Loved the hotel grounds, the room and the infinity pool. As many of the villas have private pools the main pool area is relatively quite which was great.
