Stepping into Ameya in Kerala is like walking into a paradise. The place is so beautiful that photos just don’t do it justice. Right away, you’re surrounded by lush gardens full of dancing butterflies. It’s so peaceful and beautiful, making every walk through the garden an experience to remember.
The whole place feels calm and peaceful, especially with property being on the lake. It’s a perfect spot to relax and feel at ease. When we first got there, we didn’t know what to expect, but it was simply amazing.
The rooms and facilities at Ameya are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Everything is well-thought-out with great attention to detail, making our stay super comfortable.
The staff are really kind and go above and beyond to help out, providing top-notch service. They really make you feel special.
Meeting the owners was a highlight too. They’ve turned what used to be a swamp into this incredible retreat. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of love and effort into making Ameya such a special place.
Leaving Ameya was hard. I actually teared up because it’s a place that really stays in your heart. I’m looking forward to coming back one day. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful place to stay in Kerala, Ameya is perfect. It’s a true paradise that you’ll fall in love with, just like we did.

The location of the hotel was great. They had a very nice spa in the hotel. Totally worth it. And the restaurant below the hotel was the best I've had. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We had to check out very early in the morning before the breakfast buffet begin, but the staffs packed some fruits and juice and kept it for us to bring along our journey. Nice

A nice place to visit just for a day. We opted for Shikara boats, which worked perfectly. Some people may prefer to spend their nights in a house boat, although, It may be quite boring for such long hours in still water.
The Alleppey beach is a must visit. A lot of people also visit Marari beach, however, I personally prefer the Alleppey beach since its much cleaner.
Must try - Seafood (although I am a Vegetarian, so cannot comment on that).
Most likely, one may visit this place only once and there are very less things to do here. So planning the trip for 1 or 1.5 days is more than enough.

We did the Charlotte Cruise Boat at Alleppy as a couple for one night. The check in was better than most hotels we visited in India! Our host introduced us to the boat’s captain and chef! We were greeted with fresh coconut water and the check in was smooth. The boat was wonderful! Just like a hotel setting but on water. The views were spectacular and food was delicious! We got to pick our own fish from a local fisherman and got to go on a smaller canal boat for an hour whilst the sunset and see the narrower parts of the backwaters. The only drawback is we were not informed of the additional cost of this which was RS1000 but it was worth it!

Alleppey is probably the nicest town along this bit of the coast, its noticeably cleaner and friendlier than other more touristy places. The beach front is slightly spoiled visually by the new raised coast highway being built but once you've got used to the structure you sort of forget it and get on with other things. The town is going through a period of change and will hopefully get better once many of the old historic buildings have been renovated and put to new uses. The town has clearly suffered from changes in industry but there is a move by the town council to breathe new life into the region and the investment will be worth it and make Alleppey great again!

We were only interested in discovering the backwaters and we were not disappointed. The town was very hectic and in the humid heat we found it too much to walk around. Alleppey beach was disappointing. It’s cast and has no shade. The sand is very hot. The overnight houseboat trip was the best thing.

Very beautiful property located near the back waters. Very peaceful and clean, the hosts were awesome people, very down to earth and discussing everything like family members. They helped us a lot about places to visit and arranged a boat ride and a cab for us to travel. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Alleppey in future. Thanks to Binu, her husband and the entire family.
We have spent two days in Vintage Villa. It was a great experience staying there. It feels you that you are staying in your home not a new place. Place was so nice and clean. Easy access for the hotel's upto 10.00 P.M. Even the breakfast provided them was home cooked. In simple words. Worth staying in Vintage Villa.
It’s a stunning hotel , lovely pool, so many flowers and just greenery everywhere. Loved the outdoor bathroom. Lace mosquito nets over the beds were much appreciated. Just 4 kilometres from Alleppey town which was less than 200 rupees in a tuc tuc to get to. Local village on the doorstep.
What a great part of my holidays. The food on the boat was cooked for us was terrific. The crew were so friendly, the lakes were amazing. Even had Air Con in the bedrooms. Some experiences you just never forget. Best House boat in Alleppey Highly Recommended to everyone.
It's the third time I have stayed here, and if I am in Alleppey again I will definitely stay again.
Johnson and his staff are super friendly and very helpfull.
Johnson organised a houseboat overnight and an afternoon canoe boating in the backwaters, both amazing.
The owner was an amazing guy, and really gave us the full alleppey experience! We’d been told that there was nothing to do in alleppey but he showed us there were tonnes! Beautiful walks, kayak, food and seeing the martial arts! Thanks for the great experience!
Great property to have a home stay experience in Alleppey. The territory of the property (garden) is very beautiful. Its also very peaceful there. The room had great bed, AC and a fan- very comfortable! Would stay there again.
A wonderful lake view location in Alleppey. The staff is great and very helpful. You can constantly see shikara's and boats in the lake while seating in the lobby. Overall it's highly recommended!
Highly recommend, the rooms and facilities are very clean, great location right next to the beach and the best cafe in Alleppey. Host was really helpful and friendly. Great value for money!
Never book here. I had bad experience with this. If you don't trust my comments, then you will regret staying here why you didn't listen to me. Only good thing of this is near beach.
Highly recommend this place. A very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The family room was nice and spacious with clean big comfortable beds and a clean bathroom.
