Great experience.
Great experience. Town small enough to walk easily to interesting sites. Lovely old town. Close to Pompeii and Amalfi without being a major tourist hub. Staff of Burger at greated us on the street the next day. Great personal service. The Grand Hotel was excellent. 1 day in Salerno was too long. There were a lot of homeless and sketchy people. It was like the Newark of Italy...filthy. It didn't even feel like we were in Italy until we got to the old part of town. But, we didn't feel safe here either.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Such an attractive city, clean and interesting. the old town was a pleasure to walk around, the church of St Matteo an absolute must to visit, the promenade along the sea front perfect to stroll along. lots of interesting restaurants and bars and a fabulous ice cream parlour on the sea front - bar Gelateria Nettuno is an absolute must Sadly the botanical gardens (Minerva) are closed for restoration at present

A beautiful town with lots of attractions, cafes and restaurants especially in the city centre. Recommended to be visited during the Holiday Season because of the famous Christmas lighting throughout the whole city

Salerno is a great location for shopping, sightseeing.
Salerno is a great location for shopping, sightseeing. Easy travel to Pompei, Herculaneum by bus or train. The harbour trips give access to Amalfi (a great town but it has many hills), you can take a day trip to Capri, Positano by boat as they run regularly. - From $95.73 per night8.4Scored 8.4Very GoodRated very good· 103 reviewsI really loved the setting and the environment. the beautiful infinity pool (although a little Chilly) and the tropical gardens were so peaceful and calm and just what I needed to relax. the cleaners were really helpful and friendly too. it was only 25 mins by bus away from Salerno town. the bus comes every 90 mins so you need to plan your day, but it was fine for us. the internet said that the hotel restaurant was closed when I was there (although I didn’t ask to check) , so make sure you bring enough food

President apartment has a lovely balcony and very good isolation if you wantr sleep in middle of day. The host lady Amelia was more than a polite, she was always there if you need something . For two friends travelling to Salerno to explore the city and with no interest to spend much time inside of a hotel room, it was just the right choice. It is located on the main avenue of the city, with lots of restaurants, bistros and pubs nearby. The building is very special indeed, and the lobby of the aparthotel has an aristocratic look and feel.

There’s also a lovely little balcony to look out on to the street. Probably the coolest hotel I have ever been in. It transport you back in time, and you will feel like royalty. There are so many well thought out details in the room, you can really tell they put a lot of effort in. If you are in Salerno you must stay here.

It is very safe, located on a walking plaza filled with shopping, restaurants, cafe's, etc. It is across from the train station which was ideal for getting back to Rome to fly home. Ferries to the Amalfi coast were easily accessible and a few minute walk. I would much rather stay in Salerno than fighting the crowds and cost of the Amalfi coast.
