The evening meal we had was superb, the best pork I have ever eaten
Trento is a town defined by its closeness to the Dolomites, bordered by the vineyards along the banks of the Adige River, and signposted by castles that once defended the road leading towards the Alpine passes of Brenner and Reschen. Though that gives some hints, it doesn’t unveil the rich mix of Alpine, Germanic and Mediterranean cultures that represent the cornerstone of its identity.
It is believed that it was founded as ‘Trent’ by Gauls in the 4th century BC, becoming ‘Tridentum’ under Roman rule. After the fall of the empire and centuries of dispute, the region knew prosperity under the rule of several Prince-Bishops, and was later integrated to the Austrian South Tyrol, until its final incorporation to the Kingdom of Italy after World War I. It boasts nowadays one of the highest qualities of life in Italy, while the University of Trento ranks among the country’s best.
The city’s historic centre shows the typical cultural pattern that characterises the area. Buonconsiglio Castle overlooks the city from the top of a rock, while the cathedral and Piazza Duomo shouldn’t be missed. In the Old Town's narrow streets you’ll find some of the most picturesque hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in Trento.

A lovely small city with attractive buildings, various museums and churches, good cafes and restaurants and interesting shops. Having passed the city many times on the rail route from Munich to Bologna, we’re glad to have finally broken the journey there.

We just love these "small big cities" across Europe.
We just love these "small big cities" across Europe. They have their own identity. Still, Trento is the epitome of what you would expect of any Italian town. Cozy streets, atmospheric squares, impressive architecture, great bars and restaurants and good shopping. And with surroundings like the southern Alps - the Dolomites - what is not to like?

Trento is a fantastic old historical city, full of monuments, pleasant small restaurants, and coffee bars. Besides that, Trento has very good museums. But, surrounding rivers, brooks, lakes, waterfalls, and gorgeous mountains are an added value for the Trentino region, including the Lago di Garda with charming cities alongside the lake. The visit to Trento during the summertime is some kind of refreshing escape from the hot Mediterranean summer temperatures.

The person who owns Clesio 2 cant possibly have a rating of 7.9 on Booking.com when he doesnt answer his text messages or his phone. What is wrong is he fixing the answers with fake people. Trento was destoyed by this person. I wanted to enjoy my time in this town and all I did was stand around waiting for a person to answer my calls. Clesio 2 made my time in Trento the worst experience I have ever had in a town.
Poor Trento, I feel sorry for anyone who encounters this person.
I didnt get to see any of Trento because of this person. It made me very sad.

Extremely disappointed with their lack of reactivity:
Extremely disappointed with their lack of reactivity:
Firstly, I explained our stay depended on secure storage for our bicycles. They recommended secure public storage which was user-UNfriendly to set up online. Our ETA was after nightfall and we did not want to arrive without acceptable safe storage set up.
Trento offered no credible help despite my repeated request for help.
Secondly, due to high winds our ferry arrived late in Livorno and we informed Trento we would not be able to arrive before the Trento airbnb arrival curfew. Trento‘s reply came hours later - too late for us to continue our journey and arrive there post- curfew.
A great modern apartment with lots of comfort and amenities! The key handover went smoothly, Giovanna waited for us, handed over the key and explained everything to us. She was always available during our one-week vacation, e.g. for hotel tips or reservations etc..
During our stay the towels were changed once and the apartment was tidied up, very nice.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the city center of Trento, but there are also good bus connections.
Thank you for a wonderful week's vacation, we will be back.
Just wow! This place is truly outstanding in their offer, the best guest experience I've had in Italy so far. The whole place is very comfy, inviting and nice to stay. The owners go absolutely above and beyond with helping the guests feel at home and answering any questions you may have. The Trentino App was a very nice bonus too! Also the breakfast was truly outstanding. Highly recommend staying here!
We arrived by train and then took the "free" bus (Aug 2023) with the MioTrentino App to the hotel. This was our first time in Italy, definitely a place to come back. The room has a balcony with an incredible view. Breakfast was great and the owners a very nice couple that answer all the questions. The town is beautiful, I imagine might be even more gorgeous in winter.
I have stayed at this hotel very often, both for work and on holidays or breaks on the way further south. The location is good in the centre and close to the railway station, it is quite and professionally managed. The breakfast is very good. It is one of two favourite places for me in Trento. Our room was freshly renovated (2022).
Excellent location in the heart of Trento old town. Elisa and Carlo were wonderful hosts— we enjoyed talking with them as well as meeting other guests during breakfast. The room was spacious and clean! Location is an easy walk to many restaurants and a lively Piazza Duomo di Trento.
Hotel located just minutes away by car from the center of Trento. Very friendly, multilingual staff who anticipated my needs. Parking is open air, well lit and just very few steps away. Room had everything I needed, clean with good bed. It also had a balcony!
A very welcome addition to Trento's slender hotel offerings. The staff was amazing. There is a good cafe downstairs. The beds were luxurious, and of course the building and the engineering it took to make it into a functioning hotel are impressive!
What a beautiful hotel just on the edge of Old Town trento. Stunning rooms and it had everything of the highest quality you could wish for. The breakfast room had everything we wanted and it rounded off a perfects nights stay. 10/10
Hotel provides guests with Trento Guest Card, which gives free public transport usage and discounts in museums. Hotel is at the edge of town, but there is a bus station in 2-3 minutes of walking. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
We loved everything about this place. The best room with a view (I think) was ours Room #7. The hotel staff were amazing, as well the coffee shop on the first floor. This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Trento.
i am staying at this hotel each when travelling to Italy. Since first visit in March i can say only thank thank and thank you for place and for view and for people whuch creates unforgettable Italian style and charme
Near to downtown and childern playground. Friendly staff. On the room was ready infant bed and at the breakfest also infant chair at the table. Nice choise for break on the long way to middle Italy.
Excellent breakfasts, very nice location to downtown Trento, room was functional and clean with a fine view of the mountains, outside patio was used frequently, very secure and safe.
The setting was excellent for my first night in Italy since 1981. It was a beautiful classic Italian country setting living up to my expectation. Delicious meal at the restaurant.
We were the third time and it is still the most beautiful place as a stopover driving through Italy. Wonderful cuisine, wonderful atmosphere. 200% Italy!
