Sapporo is very nice as its now winter.
Sapporo is very nice as its now winter. My family experience snowing for the 1st time especially at Otaru. The feeling of snow flakes coming down instead of the usual rain in other country. So many nice place to to go but we do not have much time. Will plan a longer trip next time. Will surely come back again for the fresh seafood.

Nice city laid out on a grid, NYC style.
Nice city laid out on a grid, NYC style. Lots of shopping, restaurants. Locals were friendly. Transport within Sapporo was easy with trains, busses, and a cable car. Per a lot of Japan, it is not very handicapped accessible. And, a warning: streets, sidewalks, and even Snow Festival walkways were covered with bumpy packed snow and ice. I saw a few tourists and locals fall.
The snow Festival is NOT wheelchair friendly, although one could borrow a wheelchair for free at the Festival.
There are opportunities to have day trips from Sapporo, I suggest renting a car for going to locations outside of Sapporo.

The snow and also the ice sculptures were amazing.
The snow and also the ice sculptures were amazing. The whole city was so well run to keep visitors safe especially while crossing roads in the icy snowy conditions. Also found the tram useful and easy to use. mt Moiwa was well worth the visit too. Hotel in excellent position and offered free coffee and ice cream in foyer for guests which was appreciated often.

Sapporo is a lively area, with lots of places to shop, eat and drink. Susukino was like a mini suburb of Tokyo; a great place to shop, with endless F&B outlets to choose from. The chocolate Factory is a must see. The trains and buses are fairly easy to navigate. From Sapporo station it takes about an hour to get to Teine ski resort and an hour and a half to Takino Snow World.
The LOCATION was its prime asset. Especially in winter, this was the best thing about our choice for this booking. The Higashi Honganji-Mae tram station was right beside it making movement around Sapporo very convenient. Walking to Susukino area was also a breeze. There was a Family Mart right across and a bigger Dinner Bell grocery at the adjacent corner. The winter view from the 6th floor was beautiful. For the New Year, the Higashi Hongan-ji Temple right across the property was ideal for the traditional bell-ringing ceremony, Joya no kane.
Excellent location, right next to Sapporo station, and close to city centre with restaurants. The rooms are not the most modern, but quite good overall and with very comfortable beds. The breakfast is a particular highlight of the hotel - there are two restaurants open for breakfast and the buffet downstairs has the largest selection I've ever come across in any hotel (a wide range of western, Japanese, Chinese and Korean foods, breads, pancakes, fruit etc). The staff are friendly and polite, the hotel was spotlessly clean.
Location : Able to walk from Sapporo Station. Nice environment being next to Odori Park
Lots of eating places and shopping for all levels close by. A big bonus was the Festival with all the wonderful, colourful floats very close by and which I enjoyed a lot.
Room: A little small for 2 people but good for one person. Space didn't matter since the park was right there and just beautiful with the good weather I enjoyed
Airport: A big bonus to have the airport bus stop outside the hotel with timetable
Love the set-up of all the JR Inn, very comfortable lounge, multiple units of washer-dryers, and public baths (optional). The room generally are very clean, not the most spacious at about 150ft2 to fit 2 XL luggage open barely. But we do enjoy the proximity of the hotel to ESTA shopping, Sapporo Station, Odori Park and Tanukikoji area. Amazing receiptionists too.
Great location/access to transport. Subway entrance and shopping mall are just across the road. JR station is 2-3min walk. The hotel room is good-sized, and hotel lobby is massive. The shopping centre closes a little late so it's a good place for a late night snack and grocery run. I requested a high floor room and views are amazing.
Clean, minimalist design but comfortable and efficient. Onsen was good and location was excellent for shopping and dining. Was snowing a lot but the hotelnwasna quick dash across the road and into the underground walkway. We could walk to Daimaru, JR train station to airport, to Susukino for dining and Mitsukoshi all underground.
The hotel has a large welcoming lobby with a view of Nakajima Park. The location could not be better as it is located near the subway and easy walking distance to the main tourist areas of Sapporo. It is close to the above ground circle trolley line as well. The staff were very friendly and helped us plan our stay.
The best location for walking to restaurants and shopping. One block from entrance to subway station and the streetcar stop is right out the front of the hotel. Large Lawson and 7Eleven across the street. Beds comfortable, Hotel clean, view from window of the street scene was mesmerising!
A great place to stay while in Sapporo. The room was compact, but also clean and comfortable. Our favorite part our stay was the excellent buffet breakfast, we would definitely stay at the Keio Plaza again just for that. The hotel is also within walking distance of Sapporo Station.
Perfect location in Sapporo. Just a short walk from JR Station. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. We stayed for 5 nights and we were glad we have chosen Hotel Mystays Sapporo Aspen. Comfortable and clean room for 3 adults with comfy bed and pillows.
It has great view from my room. The room very cleany and comfortable. It's near the beautyful park. If you walk from Sapporo station go to Hotel, it takes about 25minutes, but you can see many symbols and nice places along street.
The breakfast was excellent. Even though I didn't prepaid, we were able to get in and pay at the site. We also like that the hotel has a fairly large public bath. Location of the hotel was great as it is near Sapporo Station.
Can only say positive things about this hotel. Convenient, stylish design, clean bedroom with straight view to Odori Park and Sapporo TV tower, record player instead of the TV. Their rooftop bar is a champ.
Great experience across the board. Nice, clean room, great food and the hotel is basically in the middle of the City. Right next to the park, too, so you see a bit of green whenever you come and go
The location is good. Around 10 -15 mins walk to JR Sapporo Station. Room was big and comfortable. The 4 bedder has 2 toilets. Just across the road is a well-stocked 7-11 convenience store.
The size of washroom is very big, the location is great, near to subway station, the parking service was great, the breakfast was also good. Convenient stores are right across the road.
The location is great with many tax-free stores and restaurants nearby. About 260 m. away from the bus stop for the airport. I also like to recommend the ramen shop across the hotel :)
Location is near from center of town. Near to the station, restaurant and iconic place. Very comfortable, clean, and smell good. The most I like in Mercure hotel is bathroom amnities.
The location was great. We went to Sapporo for the snow festival and with the hotel being right on Odori park it was super easy to get anywhere from there.
