The location, Gion, is an amazing and beautiful neighborhood, and the ryokan is within walking distance of the bus and subway, and if you're up to it, you can go walking riverside until other neighborhoods, and that's really a good stroll. The staff was very kind, and I felt very comfortable and happy talking with them and asking for some advice. Also, the breakfast, for those looking for traditional Japanese cuisine, it's superb!

Gion Yoshiima is a 10-minute walk from the Yasaka Shrine. The family-run ryokan features traditional architecture and an ancient Japanese garden. A public bath, massage services and free Wi-Fi are on offer. Japanese-style guest rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring, traditional futon bedding and shoji paper screens.
